The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

On the one hand, we're missing days now so it's not turning out to be as many as originally thought. But on the other hand, the teacher she's subbing for is um, no longer employed there, so it could turn into something more for Judy. But on the third hand, since she's the de-facto temporary teacher, she's putting in a lot of time developing lesson plans; time for which she doesn't get paid since she's being paid as a daily sub, but she wants to make a good impression and possibly get the job for the rest of the year. But on the fourth hand, if she's the teacher through the rest of the year, and the year gets extended due to snow days....could put a real crimp on the vacation plans.

Well, in most school districts, it's a quite a bit higher pay rate for a temp teacher than for a sub, and it usually kicks in after a certain amount of time in the same classroom. They definitely should pay more - you are doing quite a bit more work. I subbed for the same teacher for almost 3 weeks back in August, and I kept joking that I felt like I had a "real" job!

Your snow pics are amazing! The deck has almost completely disappeared. I'd be worried about losing Swiffer in all that white. Maybe she needs a red sweater or something;)

We have that, but I'm not sure when it kicks in.

Now the snow has settled and packed down enough that he can walk on top of it. A little bit ago he was out eating bird food around the feeder....the goofball.

You know what it's like then! I grew up near Erie, so I'm used to a lot of snow, but it usually accumlates over time, not all at once.

How about another one: Veterinarian's Hospital...."the continuing stoooory, of a quack who's gone to the dogs."

Yay - someone who likes the Muppets as much as we do!! I loved those shows. My kids' current favorite is the Harry Belafonte episode with the Banana Boat song. :happytv: Oh, I wish I'd been to the World lately - I don't get to go until the same time you do! All this winter weather is making me really daydream about Florida.....I'm sure you're feeling the same!

I'm going completely on memory -- I haven't seen those shows in 20 or 30 years.

Oops, sorry. I'm not sure why I was thinking you were there recently. Where are you planning on staying when you go?

We'll be at CBR. I'm hoping that the new extension on the room-only rate will help us save some $$$$...I'm waiting to hear from my TA.

My mom got us two of the seasons of the Muppets for Christmas one year. They're not necessarily the things my kids pick to watch most often, but they're good for a family evening in front of the TV when it's too cold to go outside!

Hey Glenn! Loved the rest of the european photos! The snow pics were insane! That would shut down Texas for weeks! Stay safe my friend!

I'd think it should. I'm hoping you get a discount.

Sounds good to me.

Thanks! I imagine so. I'm back at work today, but school was cancelled again.

Hey Glenn, hopping over to say howdy. I"m sitting here with a hot buttered rum, enjoying the last of the mix my parents sent for Christmas. DH got home last night and "made it" to 8:00 tonight. Hopefully it will get better as the week goes on. Good to have him home.

Have a great day!

Thanks for stopping in. Hot buttered rum sounds good. I'm back at work, so no more homemade cappuccino's for me...no time before I run out the door.

Glad to hear your hubby made it back safely and is resting up from his trip. His body-clock must be all messed up.

Totally messed up! He was up at 3:00 AM. ugh!!

So, here's the deal, Glennbo! Get home from work, eat a great supper (did I just say "supper", normally, I say dinner), grab a nice fleecy throw, and make a hot capp, with a shot of something like,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, ummmm, rum. Whip cream, nutmeg.... there ya go. By the fire, good book, or a card game with the kids... Ahhhhh..... :cloud9:

I think my body temperature just rose two degrees after reading that. MMMMmmmm, I think a nice hot cup of tea or even hot chocolate is in order when I get home (still at work :faint:)

I'm home now and as good as those ideas sound, I'm about to work on taxes instead. Should I keep up the illusion and just tell you that I sat next to the fire with a hot beverage and the dog curled up on my feet?

I would've rather been with you guys! Well, that would hold true even on a nice day, but lately....I reaaaaaally would've rather been with you guys!

P.S. thanks.

our time together was better than I think any one of us could've imagined.

P.S. No problem

The pictures looked like you all were having a great time.

It's so cool that you folks from across the country have become good friends on the DIS and have gotten to enjoy each others' company at the World.

No, no illusions are necessary. You're probably curled up next to a 5 inch stack of papers, at the kitchen table, with an automatic "bleep" machine so your kids don't hear the expletives made in frustration towards our life sucking gov't. :lmao:
