Now that is some snow. I wouldn't want to be shoveling that. I do hope you don't get any more but have heard that it is on the way.
I heard yesterday that we may get more on Tuesday.
Note to your kids: during the blizzard of '96 we were living outside Allentown, we got at least 36" of snow during a few days. We were helping my Dad shovel out the windows so the snow wouldn't collapse inward...on our high deck. I thought it would be brilliant to jump off the deck into the snow...thinking we would just land on top. Nope. Sunk right to the bottom...my Dad had to come lift us out. So let your kids know, jumping off the deck? Not really all that great.
Thanks for the warning. You're right, there are new dangers for them now. I don't think they'll jump off of the deck because I've told them not to mess up the snow on the deck since I've been taking progressive-update pictures!
I remember when I was little I got stuck down some iced-over stone steps that led down to my friend's basement door. They were easy to get down, I just slid/slipped down, but impossible to get back up. Fortunately my friend was able to get out and he had to go get his mom to get me out.
Ok, I'll stop whining about the foot or so that we got total in the two doses we've had since Friday! WOW!!! I'm finally getting caught up on the DIS with the two snow days we've had, and I'm just getting through all your pictures.

Stay warm!!!!
I'm glad you've had a chance to get caught up. Thanks for the well-wishes. How are you dealing with not being at the World anymore?
I cant' even believe how much snow you guys are getting! I hope that's it for some time! It can't be good for roofs and trees. Too much, too fast.
I have to say, I loved your cardinal picture! Very pretty!
I haven't heard too much talk about roofs yet, I think ours is okay. I need to get me one of those poles from Vienna to protect us from "the avalanche from the roof".
And you call
us the Great White North. Looks like we have a new winner for that title
I cannot believe the amount of snow that has fallen. Wow. We got a light dusting today. Nowhere near the amount they predicted. Now if it can just hold off until I leave for Disney, all will be good

I love Swiffer!!!!!
"The Great White Mid-Atlantic" just doesn't have the same ring to it. We'll let you guys keep that moniker.
You're going to have a great time in Disney! Single digits now!
Swiffer is a great dog, as long as he's not looking for trouble, which he does every now and then when he's not getting enough attention.
I agree, the cardinal is soo pretty!! You could also try out the lense to get a picture of the new baby gibbon at AK!
Thanks. I took a picture of the female cardinal today. I said to Judy, "it's cardinal-shaped, but not cardinal-colored...more of a brown". She said, "that's the female". Doh. I knew that, I really did. I guess it was just too early for my brain.
Oh yeah, that's right. The zoom lens is going to be great for savanna pictures!
And with regard to the roofs: Is there any talk yet about the need to clear roofs? We had a very snowy winter a few years ago and there were a number of incidents of roofs colapsing due to to much snow on them. One was really horrible, it was the roof over an ice rink where children were skating. Very sad...
I hope you are all safe!!
I remember hearing about that. What a sad thing.
just looked at your blizzard pics.....WOW!

i knew you guys were getting dumped on but i didn't know the extent of it until we watched world news tonight last night and they were showing video. they named like 4 different cities who have set new records for snowfall this year....and a couple of those new records were like 10 or more inches over the last record! hope you guys get some relief soon.
Yeah, we've hit records here. Nothing much to do but keep digging out.
To give myself some luxury admist being stuck at home, I got my espresso machine out and have been making a couple of cappucino's every day!
