The Most Expensive Free Trip Ever - TR Link is Up! Pg. 164

That takes a lot of will-power, which is something you definitely have!

I"m with Carissa, not a big bread fan. Oh wait, we've already covered this topic ad nauseum. Bread is just....

It's also laden with calories and fills you up in place of the BETTER stuff!

Oh - I'm a bread fan! But, most of the time I find the OG bread is overcooked and it's hard and dry. Now, take me to Macaroni Grill and put some of their foccacia bread with olive oil in front of me......

If I have a plan before I go in (such as I can have one roll) I do much better. I can be pretty strong willed when I want to be.

Agreed. Fresh, hot out of the oven with balsalmic and olive oil. Now you're talking!! :thumbsup2 Throw in some freshly grated asiago.... Yeah, baby!!

Yeah, we've been over this before. Sounds like it's time for another flashback chapter.

Yes, the OG bread is not a big draw by itself. Not like the Kona bread. :cloud9:

I've never been to a Macaroni Grill, but it sounds good.

And some PChef spieces in the oil. :thumbsup2 C'mon, I gotta throw that in there every so often.

Kona bread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also love the bread at Raglan Road where they give you olive oil with a bit of Guinness added instead of balsamic vinegar. Yumm-O!

1) Sounds like it.

2) I was having a heck of a time figuring out "OG"- feeling undumbed now.

3) MG is great stuff. Last one I was in was in Dubai. Yummo!

4) OK, bring some to the Meet. You sell me some stuff, and I'll bring a quilt or two... :lmao::rotfl2:

It is definitely 3-dancing-banana's worthy!

Guiness huh? Interesting.

I can bring whatever you want...I've got connections!

We got up the next morning and headed to Sea World. We’d be meeting up with Judy’s sister (DSiL from my $5 TR), her son (DN from my $5 TR) and daughter (didn’t come with them when they visited us during the $5 TR, so I guess I’ll call her DNiece, not to be confused with “Denise” who I don’t know because that’s not her name). We all found each other in the parking lot and made our way into the park.

I have a receipt that says we bought some child sunglasses at 9:05 am inside the park. I have no idea which kid we needed them for, but I'd guess James, who has trouble keeping track of his possessions and probably couldn't find his sunglasses when we were packing for the trip.

At long last, I had some photo opportunities.

Flamingos.

Our group, except me of course, taking the picture. DNiece, DSiL, Lauren, Marlene, James, Judy, and DN.

Aren’t the kids cute, four years younger than in my $5 TR?! And look at James, with his shorts hiked-up like somebody’s grampa.

Some flamingos are escorted in front of us. Those are the girls up there near the flamingos. Their legs aren't much bigger than the birds'.

I hadn’t prepared for touring Sea World like I would a Disney park, so I hadn’t researched the rides and I really had no agenda. Soon we decided to try our first ride. We happened upon a ride called Journey to Atlantis. It was a flume-ride that appeared to be something similar to Splash Mountain. We figured the girls could handle it, but weren’t really sure about James. We decided to give it a shot. While in line there were TV sets posted periodically that hyped the ride and they said things like “Wet. Dark. Scary.” Dark and scary were not good. Then they said, “Wetter. Darker. Scarier.” Judy and I looked at each other, wondering if we should take James out of the line. Did we? Nah. Again we thought, well let’s try it. Who knows, maybe he’ll like it? I have a niece who loved Tower of Terror at age five, and just laughed the whole time.

We got in our boat, which could fit two people per seat, so James rode with me. We were off and soon went into a pitch black tunnel. This was really not good. James grabbed my arm with a death grip and started crying. At one point I thought he was going to try to climb out of the boat and I literally had to hold him in. We finally got to the big drop and he screamed his head off. He was absolutely horrified. I've never seen him so scared, before or since. That ride could not end soon enough for poor James. After that, he was done with rides. We had made a terrible choice for a first ride for him. For the rest of the trip we’d have a terrible time getting him on anything, including shows, if the auditorium looked too dark. Ooops.

Later in the trip we met up with one of Judy's PChef friends and found out that they were at Sea World on the same day and made the same mistake we did, taking their youngest child on Journey to Atlantis.

I think the "legs" on your girls will be there soon enough, and then you'll wish they still had flamingo legs.

More commentary coming up. That just grabbed my attention first.

Poor James. I can just imagine that he didn't want to go on any thing else. I haven't been to Sea World in about 6 or 7 years now. I may go next year but who knows.

Awwwww - Poor James! First made fun of for his hiked up shorts, then taken on a scary ride and terrified!

We didn't do that one during our trip to Sea World. We weren't very interested in the rides at SW, but it was also raining that day and I'm not sure it was running when we were over by that side of the park.

I know. No growing up allowed!

James was done. No more rides. Uh-uh.

Sea World is a nice park to visit every so often. Disney makes it hard though, with their incrementally lower prices for each additional day. You cut off one day at Disney and subtract only a few bucks, but then add-on a Sea World day for a full one-day price.

I just noticed the shorts when I was writing this. He was striking a pretty cool pose though actually, if it wasn't for the shorts.

Yes, we were at Sea World more for the shows, which you'll see in the next chapter.

I see I missed Biscuit talk! Nothing quite like the Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuit's. MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM WOOOOOOOOOOTY! They are mighty fine eatin'.

:rotfl2: Were your ears burning?

When I was in elementary school I signed everything "Glenn the Great".
I take it your parents didn't teach you the ways of modesty.

This cracked me up. I was wondering if I messed something up in the writing.
When it's been done to me in the past (quoting out of sequence), it used to confuse me too. I wanted to see what it was like to do it to someone else. And you know what? It felt...awesome.

Hey Hucifer, I started reading your last TR. Good stuff! :worship: I also saw a link in there for an even older TR (sans pictures though :sad1:), so I'll have to go to that after this one. Anyway, I've read through the MNSSHP. I thought it was funny that you ate a grilled cheese after making your way through the maze at Shades of Green. I now understand the fruit bat reference in your last installment on your current TR. I loved the Amish Caveman costume. :rotfl2:
I'm glad you're enjoying it! Yep, Dan is one giant goofball and a thrill to travel with...he makes TR writing interesting, to say the least.

I guess I’ll call her DNiece, not to be confused with “Denise” who I don’t know because that’s not her name).
Thanks for clarifying that.

Um, yes. They are adorable!

OMG. :lmao:

Aww...poor little guy. :guilty: Did anyone like the ride?

God bless 'em they tried.

Glad I could help out in some small way.

Umm....okaaayyyyy.

Today I read the "There's no crying in DisneyWorld" installment of your old TR. I'm not in DisneyWorld, so I guess I am allowed to well-up here. Wow, that was a tear-jerker. But it was so cool that you were able to correspond with the mother after you got back home. And, I'm kind of glad I'm coming into the story a little later on so that I don't have to wait to see the happy outcome that is in your signature. :yay:

Thanks for clarifying that.

At this point in my replies I don't even remember what I was clarifying. Oh yeah, DNiece vs. Denise. No problem!

Um, yes. They are adorable!

Thanks.

That's a riot, right?

Aww...poor little guy. :guilty: Did anyone like the ride?

I think everyone in that whole section of the park was fixated on this screaming kid, so we didn't notice much of the ride. He's so skinny, I think he could have gotten out from the lap-bar if I hadn't held him in, so I was concentrating on making sure he didn't get out and really get hurt.

Food and Great Biscuit go together like chocolate and peanut butter.

Hey, you got chocolate in my peanut butter!

No, you got peanut butter on my chocolate! :headache:

Mmmmmm!

:rotfl2: Were your ears burning?
Must have been!

Dang skippy.

Now get in my tummy!

Just read the last two updates. Your run around brought back a honeymoon flasback while Journey To Atlantis had memories of Stictch coming out to play. :scared1: I've actually only been to Sea World Orlando once. It was the same trip as my "high school seniors invade the MK" trip. We went to Sea World the first day and the Magic Kingdom the last. I remember a few of the shows and that I thought San Antonio's version had better stadiums. I wouldn't mind going back again though. I'm sure a lot has changed in 20 years.

“Wet. Dark. Scary.”

“Wetter. Darker. Scarier.”

I think the should have post something like "THE WETTEST, DARKEST, MOST SCARY" :rotfl:

Awww...poor James... maybe a plush toy could have helped then like in EE.... but he was too young!

It's funny that you replied to that with a brand of peanut butter. :rotfl:

I think your honeymoon run-around was waaaay worse.

The shows at Sea World are pretty good and fortunately for us there were several of them. We weren't much for rides back five years ago, as you can tell from that story, and after the first one that was pretty much it.

I think that experience is why we had to resort to a plush toy to get him on EE.

I may be in your neck of the woods this summer....
