The most annoying or aggravating thing you see at WDW.....get your flames ready!

I think my son saw that lady on the bus to POR :thumbsup2 After ragging at everyone with her vast (and wrong) park knowledge on the way back from the park, the bus stopped at the main Riverside building and she yelled at her party not to get off there, that was Alligator Bayou, and they'd be sorry when they had to walk a mile to get to the main building. Guess they knew her pretty well as they all just left her there and got off, and she sat there mad, and got off at the next stop. Hope she enjoyed her walk back to the main building and that the rest of her party enjoyed the peace and quiet they got while SHE walked "a mile".

What does the number of posts have to do with anything? :scratchin

I just meant they haven't read the same complaints over and over yet, unless they've been lurking for a long time and not posting. :)

Which is possible I suppose. I've only been here about a year and I have seen the same old gripes about strollers, fat people, ECVs, wheelchairs, line cutting, you name it....dozens of times. It dies down and someone will post a "What do you hate at Disney!" thread and the same complaints are posted, and usually some of the posts get nasty. Some of them are very funny, which is probably why I keep reading them.

Why am I still reading *this* thread? I don't know, it's like a horror movie when the Jason character is about to stab someone. You don't want to look but you can't help yourself. popcorn::

I think the whole ECV/wheelchair thing goes right along with watching people pull into a handicapped parking spot at your nearest shopping center or mall. You always wonder if they really do need the handicap parking pass, but honestly it's none of your business because you don't know what type of condition they may have. BUT, we also know that there are people that are going to take advantage of those parking spots the same way they take advantage of the ECVs. I've had a customer tell me that everytime she goes to WDW, she figures someway of getting 1 so that her entire group is allowed to get on the rides in front of everyone else. There's nothing you can really do about it, so just enjoy yourself and don't worry about anyone else.

Moving on.....
A couple of my biggest pet peeves from our last trip were:

Adults jumping in front of my children so that they could see character(s) first.

Then...my children finally getting the opportunity to "visit" with character(s), only to have some other child jump into the picture with them, while their parents did nothing to get their children out of the picture, and I do mean nothing. What seemed like minutes and the mystery child's parents never came to get her, they waited until she was done doing her visiting and smiling for my camera, and they never apologized or said anything to us.

Line jumpers, of which, most of them appeared to be from other countries. So I don't know if they don't understand how line formation works, didn't understand the language/signs, or just used their "misunderstanding" as a way to jump in line.

Bad BO and those with Bad BO having no true idea of what "personal space" is.

You know, tons of stuff bother me. The Brazilan tour group that came into one of the restaurants, surrounded the perimeter and then when people would leave, they'd dash to the empty table, parents allowing the kids to pee on the shrubs, people cutting in line, those little scooters who run into the back of your legs, people who won't give up seats on standing room busses or boats for the elderly, but all of those never bother me a half hour later because it's WDW.

But saving tables is normal! Unless buy a group that you don't like!

I don't like it when my son or anyone for that matter will stop and hold a door for someone and they just go through and don't bother to say thank you.

We will have MIL (MS, degenerative disk disease, knee replacement) and FIL (emphysema, bad knees) in ECV and wheelchair...both are overweight.

Update and a little relief : Just found out yesterday MIL and FIL will only be joining us for 1 day at WDW and 1 day at Universal. They've decided it's going to be to hot for them to do it more than that. The rest of the time they will be at their campground. My trip gets more "normal" by the day.

Now excuse me while I waddle over to my ECV, smoke a cigarette while talking
loudly on my cellphone to someone in the next room, run over a few kids then
scream at them for not having a good time. :thumbsup2

my problem is with wheelchairs and buses, not the users or the fact nobody gets on until the wheelchair is loaded but when you've waited 30 mins and the 20 plus family of the user get on first and always take all the seats ( come on disney why not let on those who are needed to help the wheelchair user and let the rest wait in line with all of us,) their having to wait at the other end for the rest of their party is no different from us having to wait for the next bus because they took all the space.

2 yrs ago waiting for bus from mgm to asmusic we had to wait for next bus as a family of about 20 took all the space, a lad in his early 20s in an ecv took ages to get on as he had no clue how to drive it, when we got back to resort i passed the lad standing at the bar( ecv nowhere in sight )and heard him ask one of his group " who's going to drive it tomorrow ".

I really hope this is a joke, cause it is beyond rude!! Just in case it is for real, here is something you apparently don't know. Disney busses only hold one or two wheelchairs. That person and their family who are upsetting you because they have taken up so much room? They may have already waited a few busses to find one with room. Wheelchair users already have many obsticles to them enjoying Disney. Why create more by having them split up from their family?:confused3

Sorry I have to agree with the previous poster poster and disagree with you. It is beyond annoying to have waited for 15-20 minutes and then have a wheelchair roll up as the bus is pulling in and get right on and take 12 people with them. Why can't they wait 15 minutes for the next bus like everyone else? That would be fair. and Why should their party be guaranteed seats, mine isn't. If there aren't enough seats we have to wait. Allow the WC and 2 people unless they are the WC's immediate family of minor children on the bus the rest wait with every one else. It is supposed to be equal not preferred.
And I do understand the WC on first for the bus but it should be after waiting not immediately.

People who spit.
People who Pee in public.
People who are mean and act like they are the only ones who paid money to be at WDW.
People who are rude to CM's and/or choose to ignore rules.

People that are heavy and cant strap into Star tours right next to me took five minutes to get him in and then another five to get out

People who smoke in non designated smoking areas and they try to hide it and it does not work and the CM try to tell him to stop and they dont do anything and just keep on smoking

Because you do not know if that family has already waited for a bus that will be able to handle the wheelchair, that's why! There are many more seats for the rest of us than there are places for the wheelchairs. And really, whenever posts that the wheelchair families should be split up, it is always some giant family of 20 or more. How accurate is that statement? I'm sure it is exceedingly rare for there to be mobs of people at Disney, but they always seem to be the case with the wheelchair guests.:sad2:

Look at it this way, you are a family of 6. There are only 3 spots left on the bus. Do you split up and meet later? Most likely no.

People who have to use wheelchairs and scooters to get around already have so many more obsticles than the rest of us to enjoying their Disney vacation. Is it really to much to ask that they be allowed to stay with their family? Why do you think that because they are in a wheelchair they somehow loose the right to be with their family?

All you have to do is read this thread and you will see the truth in that statement.:sad2:

Would'nt we all have a more enjoyable vacation if we stopped being so judgemental? Try looking on your fellow man with a little compassion, instead of thinking how they are interfearing with your vacation.

Myself and the other posters are not talking about the families and WC's that are there waiting we are talking about the ones who wheel up as the bus pulls in after I have been standing there 15 minutes and know who else was in the line and then proceed to get on first with an entire group.

Yes we have split up, actually. they can stay with their family if it is fair and they have waited. It isn't fair to walk in front of people and get on and take all the seats that others have waited for a long time for. No one is guaranteed the "right" to be with their family, it isn't a right, No one guarantees my whole family gets on every bus same thing for WC families.

The most aggravating thing about working is children with characters. I felt really bad for yelling at a kid for slapping Tigger across the face. He was about 5 years old, and tigger was standing up, the kid jumped up and smacked him good.
There's a lot to pay attention to at boat dock, especially when there's a new attendant or they're short on staffing. All I saw as, was the kid jumping up, and hearing the thud. My instant reaction was "DON'T DO THAT" (that was my yelling part) then I told him, never hit a character, you can give hug and high five, but don't be mean. The parents and much older (17 yrs old) sisters where not trying to confine him or tell him to stop. But after I said that, he backed away from Tigger and didn't want anything to do with it. So I went over and got down to his level, eye to eye, and told him, it hurts when some one hits you and tigger doesn't like it either, now tigger forgives you if you're sorry, but you have to be nice and gentle, and he really wants you to come into the picture. So I took his hand and led him in front of tigger. He smiled for the picture, then tigger took his ball cap and put it on his ear and got the kid to laugh and play along before he left.

Those happen very few and far between. And no matter what you know about character, don't tell the kids or brag about it in line when the character steps off to "get some honey", because then they feel like they're not real and you can hit and beat up without actually hurting them. When it really can hurt a lot.

I also don't like it when parents force thier children next to a character, and because the kids wants to get away, the hit the character in defense to run away. That's when most the beating up happens. Let the kids go up at their own terms, you traumatize them now, they won't ever go near the characters by the end of the trip.

And as far as ECV and lazy people, they are there. I was with a family who's aunt decided to rent an ECV so she could get around faster, then would get off at each country to go inside the shops and such to look around.
And we might all hit the parks full fledge but by the end of the night a normal 3mph walk turned into a .5mph walk, and of course ecv's don't ever change how fast they go. Take into consideration the crowds, and turn the speed down to a turtle to keep with flow of traffic, instead of stop-go-stop-go, and risking the chance of an idiot who wants to step right in front of you before you go.

some times it's the luck of the draw if you walk up to the stop with a WC. I spent three days with my brother who's in a wheelchair to get to point a to point b. But every time we got on the bus, he wanted to sit in a seat next to us, he didn't want to be singled out. Granted we didn't usually go first thing in the morning, or always stay late, except one night at studios, but our seating for dinner was so late.

And there's plenty of groups that make one person wait in each line before having the kids line jump to see all the characters in five minutes. And it always tend to be the spanish that have 5-10 followers, with all individual pictures, then 2 together, then a huge group. Other times like yesterday, there were 4 double strollers of kids, all the kids got the autographs, then did two kids at a time with Minnie, they where in and out made the wait time seem like 20 minutes, but when they all walked out, the line cut in half.
But the best is the foriegners that pull the "no speak english" when you tell them they can't do something, but when you talk to them for a conversation, they understand you fine. Brazillian groups are big on having 5 people in line and then add an extra 50 to the group before they get on the attraction.
