The monorail and the Contemporary?

Hi,
This might seem like a dumb question, but when the monorail lets you off at the Contemporary, what floor are you on? I remember going through the Contemporary and being able to see Chef Mickey's, which I thought was on the 4th floor, so are you dropped off at the 4th floor or the main floor?

Thanks for any answers.

We've only eaten at Chef Mickey's once and its been awhile (will be eating there the 2nd time on Saturday). I seem to remember taking an escalator down a level to get to Chef Mickeys. Someone more familiar with the CR will have the answer for sure.

I thought it was the fifth floor and you take the escalator down to the 4th for Chef Mickeys?

I think the monorail platform is still considered to be on the "4th" floor. The restaurants and shops are on the 4th floor, and there is an escalator and elevator up to the monorail platform, but the rooms above the monorail platform are the 5th floor I believe. You might call the monorail platform the 4 1/2th floor LOL.

freediverdude is right- there's an escalator that takes you from the 4th floor to the monorail platform, so I guess it's on the 4 1/2 floor:D

I think the others have pegged it, but maybe this will help - from the monorail platform, the only place you can get to is the fourth floor, AKA the Grand Canyon Concourse. While you might actually be closer to the fifth floor, you can't get there from the monorail platform without going down to the fourth floor.

Don't forget to visit the shops in the Contemporary while you visit Chef Mickey's. They have really good stores there!

Hi,
Thanks for all the replies. Was wondering about it.

Thanks

I'm 100% that it is on the 5th floor. You can get off the elevator at the 5th and can only go to one side. When you walk to the other side and look acrosse you'll see the monorail directley across and Chef Mickeys etc. below.

The Contemporary's monorail platform is on the 5th floor. Chef Mickey's, the Concourse Steakhouse, etc are on the 4th floor. There are rooms on the 5th floor on the opposite side of the hotel and they face Bay Lake.

I checked the details during my visit last week - and while the monorail platform is indeed on the fifth floor, the only way to access it is from the Grand Canyon Concourse on the fourth floor.

So don't try to save time by taking the "regular" elevator to the fifth floor - you might get a nice view of the platform, but you can't get at it from there.

Yes, definately. There is an escalator to the monorail platform right by the regular tower elevators, and the monorail platform elevator is right at the end of the Fantasia shop. :)
