I've tried on several occasions to explain how the whole thing works to co-workers, friends, relatives - only my mother got it... my mother the math whiz. Personally, I have to keep a chart or I get all confussled, too.

But I do see this as a prime opportunity to convince Tony of the need to buy a small AKV contract, don't you think?

I've tried on several occasions to explain how the whole thing works to co-workers, friends, relatives - only my mother got it... my mother the math whiz. Personally, I have to keep a chart or I get all confussled, too.

But I do see this as a prime opportunity to convince Tony of the need to buy a small AKV contract, don't you think?

I've even tried writing it down on a big piece of paper , complete with comments and arrows pointing to things that the comments are about...Nothin'. Then I thought that he didn't believe what I was telling him - that I was making it up. Why'd I think that?

He said "I don't believe you. You're making this up." Soooo...I printed out our account summary from the DVC website and then he wouldn't even look at it. Oh well. His loss...he's just going to have to take my word for it. He said that we can't buy any more points until we sell this house when my job is over...so I have that to look forward to. Should be end of 2008/early 2009 unless something happens, like we get more work here or something. By March of 09 if I don't own more points, Mama aint gonna be happy.

You never know...Disney themselves hold the loans, so they may be more lenient!! Seriously though...take the tour! You'll love it...I bet even your DH would love it.

I've been trying to catch up on housework, etc. and haven't seen the news today. We went out of town Friday night to Asheboro, NC to the NC Zoo and spent all day there yesterday and got home around 8 last night so I'm out of the loop.

BUT - the crocs were put to the test...walked 5 miles yesterday and my feet felt great!! I must now buy more!! DH hates them - said I look like I have duck feet?

So I’m planning my January, 2008 trip while I’m planning this one. Did I mention that? Well, to do this, I needed the school calendar for next year. Luckily it was just approved and posted on the school website. First day of school…August 27th.

Great, me thinks. The Focker Meet is the 25th – plenty of time to get to WDW and back! Till I went through the whole “Use Em or Lose Em” debacle. My departure date from SSR is the 27th!! GASP! We’ll miss the first day of school!!

THEN I remember that they start the kids in 2 groups the first day of school, so I’ll have to do some fast talking to get his 1st day of school in the 2nd group! Not to mention we’ll also be missing 1st grade orientation…I anguished over this and nearly changed the trip to arriving Friday night the 24th and leaving on Sunday the 26th…BUT there’s got to be some way to work this out so I’m not going to sweat the small stuff….

Ok, so I have a skeleton of a plan in place by now…

I say skeleton because as of today, there are holes in my plan. S’late may refer to them as areas that are “OPEN”…I like to think of it as having “room for improvement”…

As of right now it looks like this:

Our flight is scheduled to arrive at 11:30am on the 21st. I’m guessing an hour at least until we get to SSR. Ok, that put’s us at around 12:30. Assuming that our room won’t be ready when we get there, and knowing we’ve got the P & P Party that night, I’ll arrive with a carry-on bag containing sunglasses, bathing suits and sunscreen …of an allowable size in a Ziploc bag of course! We can spend the afternoon at the pool, freshen up in our room and be at the MK in time for a 5:45 ADR at Tony’s.

As of right now, DH doesn’t want to go to the party so I’m not sure what HIS plan is for dinner. I made the ADR for 3 just in case he wants to eat with us and head back to the hotel or something. Although I’m not sure how he’d be on the WDW transit system alone. Could he find his way back to SSR from the MK? Sure. Would he want to? Dunno. Your guess is as good as mine.

Now I also have, which I am going to cancel – unless one of you wants it – in which case let me know by the end of this week and I can put the ADR in your name – is a Brown Derby Fantasmic! Dinner Package for 5:15pm. I booked this prior to knowing that P & P Party would be held this night and for some reason I haven’t cancelled it yet.

The 22nd I have scheduled for MK, but since we’ll (at least Michael and I will) be at the MK the night before, I may change this. I most likely will change this. Water park? Perhaps…this is a big hole in my plans…and I haven’t quite figured out what to fill it with yet. MGM. Sure. We could do that. Epcot? Sure…we could go there too. I already am figuring it will be a late morning start if I’ll have Michael out all night the night before, so maybe a water park would be best after all…

And while we’re on the subject of water parks…do I choose Blizzard Beach or Typhoon Lagoon? I automatically think Typhoon Lagoon. I don’t know why. I have no “urge” to go to BB, but can’t quite say why. I’m sure it’s fun though…and maybe we’ll go there as well as TL….I may have another hole to fill Thursday or Friday.

Ok, so let’s say right now that the tentative plan for the 22nd is to go to TL. I have no dining plan yet at all for that day. Hmmm…have to work on that.

I've been thinking of DTD for dinner...perhaps HOB - love that place - or maybe Michael would enjoy Planet Hollywood . I considered Disney Quest, but I'm still not crazy about the number of things he's too short to do. May be kind of mean to bring him there and then tell him you can't do this, you can't do that....OR of course, our other possibility for dinner is the Turf Club at SSR. I don't know...I have a lot of thinking to do...

Thursday, the 23rd I have a pirate cruise booked for Michael at the GF at 9:30am. That will have our day booked through about noon. My plan after that is to hit the MK. I’d like Michael to see SpectroMagic and depending on the crowd levels, this may be the night to do that.

Friday the 24th I’m thinking of making an Epcot day. We have a 7pm ADR for Cape May Café and I thought we could walk off dinner and just wander around the Boardwalk for awhile.

Saturday the 25th….the big day. The reason we’re here!!
The morning will start early – making Tony and Jo’s DH an early AM tee time. Hmmm…now if only there were 2 others to make this game complete…Hmmm…think, think….Anyone??? Attention: Disneyland_Mama, this is Julie Your Cruise Director…can the guys come out to play???? Don’t you guys all think that Tracy’s DH and Waldo would round out this foursome nicely?? Yep. Me too!!

Anyone up for a water park or a pool day with all the kidlets while the guys are “bonding”???? I guess we do a park day too. Up to you guys. OR maybe you’ll all be like “Eeeeww… hang out with her…gasp – SOBER!”

And of course, our big dinner/drinks/laughs/more drinks/more laughs night is this night!! I’m trying to find an outfit to wear for my big night out! I will have to have a little closet fashion show for this one…

I have a croc exchange during this week as well! I will get Flora from Experiment5238 at some point and then pass it on to clombardi by the morning of the 27th. I look forward to meeting some new DIS’ers!! At some point in August I’ll make contact with both to try and coordinate a “swap meet” if you will. Although, if we’re speaking of crocs, maybe it should be a “swamp meet”?

Ok, so fast forward to dinner and drinks with my friends and then drinks with even more DIS’ers later I believe. And to my peeps…and you know who you are…if I forget to tell you all this later….”I had a really good time and I’ll never forget what I can still remember!” Love you guys, mean it!!

The following day, the 26th will be an MGM day. I have a 5pm Fantasmic dinner package booked for that night. What a fitting way to end a vacation and get ready for school the day after we return home…Fantasmic on a warm summer night. Makes me warm and fuzzy….

May I weigh in on this one? August - if you're not at the water parks by opening, forget getting chairs and plan on waiting in major lines for every slide. An alternative, though, isto go way late in the day, say after 4, when folks who got there at opening are starting to leave. My personal, fail-safe late-arrival park has always been EP
