The Moist Exhausting Free Trip Ever - Link to Part II Thread pg. 244

Your son iis just so cute! He looked like he was one hungry little boy! That hamburger did look appetizing, though, as well as the pizza. The ordering there sounds a bit complicated, but after you explained it all (good job doing that, btw) I totally understood it and it sounds a lot easier than wrestling with your tray full of food and drinks while waiting in the mile long line to pay. I wish all food courts did it that way.

Woo hoo! Sci Fi! Love their burgers and shakes.

I never ate at Pepper Market. Looks like a nice place. I have a daughter that always picks the most expensive things. She just turned 18 so I told her that next year the trip is on her.:lmao: She said that she never looks at the prices but I bet that will change when she has to pay for things.

Been wondering about those tickets.

Haha, that was me when I was younger but then I never ate my food! My son is now the same way:rotfl2:Payback....

Dear readers, I had to edit that last chapter to add a little text and a picture. Just FYI.

And with visions of fake cheese sauce oozing in my brain, I can now drift off into sleep slumber. Thank you a million times over! :worship:

You are so welcome! Soon, soon, you will be in the land of junk food!

I definitely think that reading the descriptions on The Dis about how to order at the Pepper Market always makes it seem more complicated than it is. I liked all the food we had gotten from there except our fries which were always overly salty.

And mm... the Sci Fi burger *drool*

Hopefully my description didn't add to the confusion.

Ahhh that first Disney meal. Sounds like you had good start. We usually have to have that first meal before we head out too. DH always finishes off everyone's meals.

Yeah, I would have....if they'd left me anything.

I like Pepper Market, especially when I am on the DDP.
Really good value for a CS credit.

Oh yeah, on the DDP it'd be great. And, another thing I forgot to include, they don't accept the TiW card there. I asked about that, Annual Passholder, DVC, AAA, Blood Bank of Delmarva.... "no" to all.

I have had people refer to it as Pepper Market Bingo with the card.

Still not sure why the car has squares on it since none of the food stations stay in their square.:rotfl2:

That's a good one. Makes sense!

I hope you had a chance to taste the desserts.

No. :sad2: I was paying OOP, remember.

I must admit, I still don't get how it works.

I suspect that you probably just skimmed that part, and didn't really read to comprehend.

That burger looks monsterous and that pizza looks awesome.

They were pretty good.

Is that bird doing the Asian Power fist.;)

Yes! There must have been a peep in the house.

the pizza looks good but small for the price! Disney burgers seem pricey anywhere, it is where I like having the DDP so I'm not having heart attacks at the CS pricing, it adds up FAST!

I kind of was having a heart attack. <insert adding machine sound effect here>

Thanks. We decided we'll keep him.

I'm glad you were able to understand the ordering system! (See that, Jordan?)

It was nice. A little pricey, but nice.

Kids are so free with their parents money, aren't they? James wanted us to stop at Applebees on our way to a cookout yesterday. :confused3

Been wondering about those tickets.

Yep, next chapter.

Haha, that was me when I was younger but then I never ate my food! My son is now the same way:rotfl2:Payback....

They're all the same.

Wow, they do have it set up different over there. What's to keep someone from hiding a card and not paying? :confused3 Guess that's for them to worry about. It does look to be a more relaxing ordering experience than POR. When we stayed POR I'd pick the wrong line to get in every single time! Always ended up behind several people who didn't know how the DP worked, etc. Which is fine, except for the one's who would take their time going back to get the rest of their order while we are all standing there waiting.

Anyhoo, your kiddo's looked to be pretty hungry that day! :rotfl: That food looks really good. I'm actually starving right now because I didn't eat lunch. I think I'm going to grab something now............

I was pleasantly surprised with the Pepper Market when we were there. We were on the QSDP, so for us, it was a deal! Plus, since we were eating so much quick service, it was nice to get real silverware and plates!

joining in!! popcorn::

jenniferkeala808, I am so sorry that I missed your post! I was just going back to put a link in my last chapter and saw that you ninja-posted while I was working on it. I am so sorry about that! I hope you weren't offended that I missed it, and that you're still following along.

And, by all means.....:welcome:!!!

Hey Glenn!

I'm finally all caught up. Loved the various takes on depth of field and Charlie Chaplan references. Actually, I'm enjoying all of the photos so far so keep 'em coming my friend. Looks like lunch was a hit. Nothing like that first lunch at the food court to get you into the Disney frame of mind.

I wondered about that too. I don't think there's anything to prevent it really.

Don't get in line behind me anywhere...the grocery store, a fastpass machine, the men's room (especially the men's room Blue, you shouldn't even be in there!). I always pick the slowest line somehow.

Never DIS hungry. It's dangerous.

I don't think James noticed they had silverware, but that's a 10 year old boy for you.

Hey GB!

Glad you're caught up and enjoying it. I will definitely keep 'em coming.

I'm back up to date and so far so good!! Is your son like mine and only eats cheeseburgers for the entire trip?

I'm curious as to how you made out with a new "teenager" this trip. My DS just turned 13 this month. He'll have is cousin on the cruise but she's not going to parks afterwards so he'll be oldest of the kids left so I'm sure he'll want to try and adventure on his own.

Just wait until August when it's time to go back to school. You'll get to have fun teasing your wife just as much as teasing the kids. My late wife hated it whenever the sales flyers started coming out for Back To School shopping.

Need to see more pics!!!

Great TR so far and great photos. :) Looking forward to the next installment. :)

I must admit, I still don't get how it works.

Jordan, glad I'm not the only one! We stopped by Pepper Market once to eat, but found it too confusing - and way too crowded.

I was trying to think of it as sort of like the old 4th floor CR Buffeteria (our first trip), but that was definitely cafeteria style even though it was called a Buffeteria. A waitress/waiter was waiting after we had all of our food, whisked away each try to a table/booth. Brought us water..but do not recall if they ever checked on us again. It was weird because the tip was essentially for service we did not need or want.:confused3

Nice update, Glenn! :thumbsup2

He definitely had his share. Be on the lookout as we go through the report.

We did great. I've been kind of surprised that they haven't asked to do more stuff on their own...and they'll get to that point soon enough, so I'm not going to be the one to bring it up. We get along well, so I don't think they really want to go on their own much.

I hadn't thought about that! That'll be fun!

I'm sorry to hear that you're widowed, that must have been rough. I'm sure that's the understatement of the century.

Need to see more pics!!!

All in due time. Can't rush a good thing!

Wait a second, this is your first post here isn't it? Well,
:welcome:

Thanks for the compliments! Glad to have you aboard.

I THINK I get it, but it just seems like extra work....:confused3

The only extra work is to have the food service people at the stations stamp your card in addition to handing you your food. It makes checkout a lot easier.

That does sound a little weird.

Anyhoo....so a funny thing happened on my way through the dining pics ... saw Judy's lovely blouse and said to the computer, "Our summer place-mats!" What are the chances of a blouse being exactly the same design as place-mats? They are my favorite summer placemats - on the table right now. :thumbsup2

That's pretty funny, but please forgive me...there's no way I'm going to tell Judy that. I don't think she'll want to hear that her blouse reminded someone of their placemats. :rotfl:

Nice update, Glenn!

Thanks!

After finally giving in to fate, and turning our luggage over to bell services, we went to the Pepper Market to get some lunch. It was after 1pm and we were starving.

I’d read on the Disboards that they have a little different system for ordering and paying for food here, and quite frankly, from the descriptions, I was still confused.
Um, I've eaten there five times and still find it confusing, lol! :rotfl:

It had “cheeseburger” on it, but not “hamburger”, so she asked for a cheeseburger without any cheese. The worker guy said, “you mean a hamburger?” And she felt like, duh. But it wasn’t listed on the sign!
:rotfl2: And, conversely, we found somewhere - I think maybe tangierine Cafe - that a "hamburger" is listed on the menu, but what you actually get is a cheeseburger! :confused3

The oblong chocolate things you put on top of ice cream? Yes, jimmies! :thumbsup2 "Sprinkles" are colorful granulated sugar things put on top of holiday cookies. ;)

Oh, no, please don't mention it...actually, best deleted to be safe (please adjust your quote too?:thumbsup2 Thanks!)

Day 1 - Part 2

And Judy enjoying her nachos, with a big bowl of jalapenos on the side.

IMG_2508.jpg

I was about to comment about Judy's shirt as well but then realized, that in the Pepper Mill, it kinda goes with the decor!

Our first TS was at the Sci-Fi and we loved it! Looking forward to seeing more pics of it. popcorn::

That pizza looks so good! The Pepper Market looks pretty neat! I noticed Judy wayyyyyyy in the back of that one pic!
