Deadpool is making his way to Disneyland resort this weekend to promote his new film and take pictures with guests.

Never in my wildest dreams did I think I would see the day that an R-rated comic book "hero" would be a character doing meet and greets at Disneyland. It's so awesome.
I mean if it doesn't make 800-1 BillionTo be fair, in the comics he was never really R rates, at least not before the video game and movie. That's why I have some misgivings about making the movie Rated R - it doesn't suit the MCU.
I don't need character purity in my movies. Ryan Reynolds made Deadpool what it now is. The MCU is a big enough tent that you can have characters like Deadpool and She-Hulk that can be something besides the standard cut and dry superhero story. To be fair, in the comics he was never really R rates, at least not before the video game and movie. TBH most people, let alone Disneyland park guests, know Deadpool from the movies and not the comics. That also applies to pretty much any superhero, not just ones associated with Marvel. To be fair, in the comics he was never really R rates, at least not before the video game and movie. I'd be surprised
I think a Rated R film every now and then works, its not like most of the MCU will become that but Deadpool it works for and also Logan is by far the best Xmen film and that's Rated R as well. So think this film should fit in just fine and more wondering how the Deadpool works in the next Avengers films

I really doubt the meet and greet will be R rated like his portrayal in the movies. I feel like it'll be more akin to Beetlejuice at Universal Studios (before anyone says it, I know the original Beetlejuice was rated PG). Beetlejuice in the parks pokes fun at people in a non mean way but it's still a funny interaction.Right - and I question if that belongs in a Disney Park. And I am not the sensitive type AT ALL, but still, I prefer my comic books to be more in that all-ages vein. Like Star Wars - I wouldn't want to see a ton of gore and F-bombs in it.
Then thats coolI'm not saying that it won't be successful - I am saying that I don't care for it. Deadpool was already annoying without being crass and puerile.
I don't mind if something is not standard superhero fare, but they could still do that at a PG-13 level. I enjoyed She-Hulk and it wasn't the equivalent of Rated R.

From a very quick glance on social media, 99% of people are super excited for Deadpool. I expected more pearl clutchers but it seems like the majority of people are cool with it.
Then thats cool
Deadpool was never for you. Marvel has so many characters, not everyone one is going to be someone you like. Doesn't mean he should not be in the park, if you think Disney will let him in anyway be Rated R, I think your going to be surprised to see they can make him work without saying the F word in parks...he will be just a goofy fun character who if anything can be someone you can break the meta with and talk anything Marvel comics with unlike the other characters who have to be Spiderman from the MCU and not have knowledge of the comics lore.
When I saw the first Deadpool, my theater was full of kids lol there was even a family that brought a 2 year old and a 4 year old.No, I'm sure it won't, but it's still representative of the movie. How many kids will meet him then want to see the movie? And, hey, I'm no pearl clutcher - I like a lot of Rated R movies and I grew up int eh 80's when kids could watch just about anything. Robocop has been a longtime favorite - but I don't want to see him roaming around a Disney Park, you know? I think media companies should be careful when taking something that was always geared at a certian level and changing that - works both ways too. I mean, they made highly sanitized Robocop cartoon shows back in the day and they were just as bad.
Once again, you don't like the character coolAgain, I do not think the park meet will be Rated R, but that connection is there.
The biggest problem with Deadpool is that he was created to be a one-off spoof of a rival company's character. He was supposed to be annoying - which works when he's a side character, but not so much in large doses.

Also apologies, I didn't mean to imply you were a pearl clutcher. I was more referring to people in FB or Twitter comments of the official Disney announcement.
The way the announcement is worded makes it seem like this will be a temporary thing. I think this would be a whole other issue if they made a permanent Deadpool attraction. I do get what you're saying though. I would feel similarly if Disney made a Simpsons attraction (which is rumored due to Universal's contract expiring in the next few years).
Once again, you don't like the character cool
Do anything else in the park. In fact this will eat up a good amount of people so enjoy people meeting this character and go on other attractions
The connection is there but Dare Devil is also Rated R...so he should not be in the park when his new show is out? Also I'll report back after I see the new Deadpool film but I bet 1/3 the theater has people under 18 seeing the film. Rated R isn't what it used to be you can see much worst things then Deadpool on HBO and other apps along with Youtube and other media having content people under 18 are not suppose to see but do....we are in a anew age where being Rated R doesn't mean much
Have you watched Daredevil?Dardeevil was never Rated R in the comics either, and I never really thought that his show needed to be. It is though, and, yeah, I wouldn't want him in the parks based on that.
Honestly this is a sore spot for me because it basically ruined comic books and whithered the industry - the idea that the characters needed to grow up with the fans. When comics became targeted to 18 to 35, the industry contracted. The concepts began to be taken too seriously and broke under their own weight. Stuff for kids should stay for kids. I am an adult and I LIKE stuff for kids. I prefer it remain light and fun.
Have you watched Daredevil?
Its amazing
Its like being against Andor in Star Wars because adults enjoy how mature the themes are, if the show is amazing then great.
They have had multiple versions of Loki, multiple versions of Moon Knight, Taskmaster, the Eternals, Kate Bishop, Agatha, America Chavez, Death Dealer, Shang Chi, O.B. from the TVA, Werewolf by Night, and Kang all at Avengers Campus. None of those are Avengers or at least not yet. People find these all fun so what's the harm? It’s AVENGERS Campus…not Marvel. I swear, they do anything for a buck…
Who am I kidding…it’s DISNEY. Hate the whole idea. We don’t need any random Marvel characters, of which there are multitudes hanging about.
They get rid of a bonafide AVENGER (Dr. Strange) to bring in an interloper, hoping to rake it more at the movies…never mind it’ll already be a huge success.
