This trip in several months time has now evolved into the biggest international Disney extravaganza. We are starting off flying to Hong Kong Disneyland for two days followed by five in Tokyo Disneyland before jetting off for Disneyland Paris and now (although I never intended to) back for several days in Disneyland Anaheim before flying home.

This has to be most excessive mad trip that friends/colleagues/others would roll their eyes if you told them about. "Yes, that's right we're going to Disney around the world". Even the travel agent didn't quite know what to say when they asked what we were going to be doing in each city when I told her we could in no way be flexible with dates (because of parks crowd calendars). I like to think we're still being a bit cultural as London, New York and San Francisco are also included in the holiday but since we enjoy the Disney components - why not? I've become "one of those people" haven't I? Cross the street to avoid..avoid.

What are the chances I'll never want to see another anthropomorphic mouse in my life?

Oh how wonderful!
I'm envious - a dream holiday
Please post often so I can live vicariously ...

Great holiday!

Are you positively, absolutely sure that there is no way you can include WDW in your plans?

Oh thank goodness you don't think I'm too far gone! ha ha.

So far I've booked:

Hong Kong- Disneyland Hotel for 2 nights.

Toyko- MiraCosta for 2 nights and Disneyland Hotel for 2 nights (overnight on the last night in the airport before flying out to Europe).

Paris- Sequoia Lodge (I'm not sure about this one as we visited once for the buffet there and it didn't leave a massive impression - any reports?).

Anaheim- Grand Californian for two nights to try and rest a bit before making the trek back to Aus.

Are you positively, absolutely sure that there is no way you can include WDW in your plans?

It's almost tempting just to get it in there! We have a reservation for Walt Disney World already for this year for two weeks but after going last year and really not enjoying the magic bands and Fastpass+ we decided to look elsewhere. I need to get around to cancelling this.

The only reason this came about really was that Swiss Air had a really good deal on 'round the world airfares.

We're all here....on a Disney OCD planning board. No way would we think hitting 4 out of 5 Disney locations too far gone. :rotfl2:

I still think you need to plan the Full House. :thumbsup2

Congrats on your resort bookings. Looks fantastic and I'm totally envious.

What a fantastic journey you have planned. I am hoping to do that one day, no one here would think you are crazy, envious of your plans maybe but not crazy:flower3:

What an awesome holiday. Would love to do this one day. Will be watching to read all about it. Must admit, I had to look up what sort of mouse you'll probably never want to see again.:rotfl: That'll never happen!

:woohoo: that's an awesome trip sure beats my DLP, DCL and WDW trip this year :dance3: I would never get DH to agree to all that have an awesome time :)

Wow, what an awesome trip!! I'm so jealous!
Please keep us updated so we can live vicariously through you!

So we are not the only ones planing a trip like this!

We are waiting for Shanghai Disney to open and add it to the list.
Hong Kong, Shanghai, Paris, disneyland, Tokyo Disney

We might also throw Aulani in there to break up the trip

Are you going to do a trip report?
Would love to read about your experience. Since there's not too much out there about doing such a trip.

Not sure if you have looked into it...but airlines are now starting to offer the around the world tickets again. Must travel east to west or west to east with no backtracking.
But the prices are very reasonable...in our case allot cheaper than buying separate tickets for each leg
Since around the world tickets allow open jaw..you can stop For any length of time and then continue on

Enjoy!

I think your trip sounds great! I'd be interested to hear what you think visiting Disneyland Paris and WDW close together. We did one after the other last year and found that after Paris, WDW rides didn't quite compare and that was unexpected.

Yeh, we got a great deal on flights which prompted the trip initially. The idea was just to go to Asia and the States but it worked out cheaper to go around the world.

I haven't really thought about a trip report before or whether anyone would be interested?

Can't wait for Shanghai too. I think that's on the agenda for 2016.

That's a very good reason not to include WDW in the mix.

I wonder if Disney are monitoring social media and taking notes of this?

I would hope so but I think they've got it into their minds that FP+ will work no matter what. So much money has been sunk into this useless infrastructure from the guest perspective. Thing was that I went in with a very open mind, not thinking it was doom and gloom before I tested it out.

It's unfortunate but last year my partner and I felt Walt Disney World really lost us. This culminated, for example, at EPCOT Food and Wine where you can only have one FP+ per hour and the times available were really staggered throughout the day to begin with (at 60 days out and no ability to change on the day as FP was exhausted). We had to keep walking back from World Showcase to Future World through the day to make the FP times. This became annoying and an interruption. If I was to do food and wine again I wouldn't bother with any rides at all. In hindsight we should have just let the FPs lapse.

The whole band experience felt like I was cattle being herded by what Disney wanted me to do and when Disney wanted me to do it rather than my own autonomous choices. I became Disney's product with all my data. No thanks. I'll go elsewhere. They're called magic handcuffs for a reason.

That's a shame you had that kind of experience with the Tragic Bands, RC. I had wondered what would happen when the system got to capacity in peak period; and people couldn't readily change their FP+ windows. Afterall, that was always going to happen given the bigger attractions with FP- constantly ran out of tickets by mid-morning.

My experience with the bands was a little different. Once the system picked the times, I went back in to rearrange my FP+ times. I found that if I did it right at the 60 day mark, I could change the order of the rides and the times of the rides so that they were a bit more logical; and easier to walk round in a circuit. And because we were there when the crowds were low, we had no problem in rescheduling FP+ times on the day....although, I only did this once and at MK.

Have fun with planning your Dis-palooza trip. Wish it were me!

I'm pretty sure no one on these boards is going to think any less of you for doing a Disney round the world trip :rotfl: Personally I'm dying of jealousy! How long will you be away for altogether?

Honestly if I was to stay onsite at DLP, I would definitely pick Sequoia Lodge :thumbsup2 It's still close to the parks without the excessively ridiculous price tag of the Disneyland Hotel, and I think it's been refurbished fairly recently. And I just love that rustic style - I would also choose the Wilderness Lodge at WDW if money was no issue!

And I definitely think you need to do a TR!

As a side note, I had no idea FP+ chose the times for you! This new system keeps sounding crazier and crazier, no wonder you're not keen on going back :sad2:

I would definitely be interested in a trip report!

There are certainly a fair few flaws to the Magic Bands by the sounds of it. I'm sure they're here to stay considering how much they cost to implement, I just hope they iron out the problems.

Sounds amazing....take me with you! :yay::rotfl2: Seriously though...mega jealous, you will have an amazing time! And I want to read a trip report!

I say you stick with Sequoia Lodge at DLRP, we stayed at Newport Bay Club last time, and it was not a good vibe at all. The rooms there were desperately in need of updating, and certainly not worth even close to the money we paid. We walked through Sequoia and got a much more 'Disney' feel over there. :goodvibes
