Can someone help a newbie out?

In order to get the AP rate, do you already have to be an AP holder? If not, do you just have to show proof on check-in? Does only one person in the party need the AP?

Hi misslissa! Welcome to the boards (I'm fairly new too )

You don't have to be and AP holder when you book; you only need it when you check in. And, yes, only one person in the party has to have the AP but if you do this you can't do the dining plan because the AP only gives you a room only reservation. This is why we're not doing it...DW loves the dining plan mainly because she thinks of the vacation as an all-inclusive type of deal. In actuality, I'm the one that needs to make sure that we still have credits etc.

You do need an AP to book online, but you don't need one if you call. All you have to do is have one person in your party (an adult) show the AP upon checking in to get the discount.

I got AKL - Pool View - May 7-11 for $201.00 @ nite. I really wanted standard view, but was told they weren't available. Do you think it would do any good to try again to see if a different cm might 'magically' find a standard view room.

You could try again because the CM I spoke with this AM said she had to look deeper for the standard rooms and then found them. BTW, is the $201 per night include tax?

I have heard there is supposedly a way you can use the voucher online, but I don't remember how you should format the info, etc. I hope someone else can answer that for you!

I didn't see this until late afternoon and didn't think I'd have any luck. I got the Beach Club for $329/night, waterview, 5/12-5/17. My mom wanted to go back this year for mother's day weekend so looks like she's going! . I really wanted POFQ but nothing available.

For those who did not get their first choice in AP rate rooms, don't hesitate to try again. This morning, for my dates, I could only get AKL Deluxe Savannah. When I called back to check something else I asked if any Standard Savannah rooms were available and sure enough, I now have my favorite room at the AP rate.

The CM said they were in the midst of the "AP shuffle" so room types are appearing and disappearing as AP holders modify various reservations.

I was able to book two standard rooms at CSR today round noon. (5/10 -$129).

Just called in again to try for a standard room and all that is available are ap rates on king bed rooms....maybe it has something to do with the date we are checking in? Well I won't complain too much...we still saved $200!

Yes the $201 for AKL Pool View included tax.
I will try again tomorrow for a standard.

I can't get on the Disney site right now but if you click on passholders there should be 3 different options one of which will have you click on voucher then enter your #'s from the back of your voucher then access to the passholder section.

I just booked AKL pool view on the AP rate for May 4-12! Unfortunately there weren't any Savanah rooms available at the AP rate. But it was a great savings!

Oh man....I *REALLY* wish that you could use the AP with the Dining plan. I know that if greedy, but there seem to be some great deals just at the expense of the Dining Plan and my husband adores the Dining Plan.

Ah well, at least we love Pop Century!

I'm so stoked! I just upgraded from my original package at POFQ to AKL (standard view), and I'm actually saving money! Yay AP rates! It has been always been my dream to stay at AKL, and now I finally will ~ 5/11-5/20!!
