Triple D's The teams are set and ready to go. We have an incredibly strong team and I, for one, am very excited and motivated for the potential that this team is going to have for this year. We have quite a diverse group on our team. Players from all over the nation. Bikers, runners, walkers, triathletes and a couple of nutty people who think that they are athletes. (That's me!!)

Here is a list of the team as we stand right now.

Ironz - Co-Captain (Betsy) (198.2 miles 23.5 hours)

You know how sometimes you just get a feeling that it is going to be a great day, week or month? Well, I have that feeling about the Triple D's for this month. I think it is going to be a fantastic month!!

On the original thread, I posted several questions for everyone to answer so your teammates could learn a little about you. Well, here is another question for everyone that I should have already done and I apologize for not doing it sooner.

I will post all of the totals from last month in this post for each individual. I will wait for Betsy to update the spreadsheet and then print it out so I can post it for you all.

Thanks everyone!

Bryan....the link isn't right...you can't just copy and paste it, since the DIS keeps shortening the URL. :goodvibes

Updated for whoever has posted for February..still waiting on a few. Everyone is doing SUPER!! ANY amount of activity is good! We're all trying to be healthy!

Will either add March to this spreadsheet, or start a new one...haven't gotten that far in my mad spreadsheet skilz yet. ;)

Very frustrating but I fixed it. Thanks for catching that and I will try to remember this for next month.

Betsy, if you need some help with the Gooogle spreadsheet thing, let me know, I've been workin it and actually have all the months on mine with a cover sheet that show time and miles totalled for each month.
I learn pretty quick and has been a trial and error kinda thing.

I am here and checking in for March. Can't believe its March already and the Princess 1/2 is next Sunday. I went out for my last long run and got 5.5 miles in an hour. So I am happy with that.

I will update my February miles and time tomorrow. Happy March to everyone. Oh and my bday is Nov 27th

:stitch: 'Ohana's Monday Mixer :stitch:

We had so much fun with last week’s Monday Mixer, ‘Ohana is doing it again tomorrow! Come early, stay late, visit on any day of the week. No need to stick to the topic, either. We’re just happy to hear from our cousins and swap a tale or two over some tasty beverages. :drinking1

Tomorrow, we’re curious to find out how you pass the time on long walks/wogs/runs if you don’t listen to music and are training solo. (Or what you do in addition to/as an alternative to listening to music.) What makes the long miles less daunting and maybe even enjoyable? What do you watch for, think about, concentrate on? From the serious to silly to the surreal, we want to hear your stories.

Me, I’m pretty sure I hallucinate, but the rest of you probably have better strategies...

Hope to see you on the ‘Ohana thread. The mixer posts for this week start here.

Bryan Is the Talladega race run on the track, If thats part of the race might be worth a road trip for that race. I was telling DW that a would like to run a race in every state. She said it sounds good as long as she can come and relax on the trips.:lmao:

Great idea, Bryan, since its possible some people aren't nearly as shameless as i am. Apparently some folks do not feel comfortable loudly and repeatedly prclaiming that it is their birthday. :confused3

Anyway, in the off chance anyone missed it . . . Mine was February 9th. :rotfl:

BTW, love the name of the new thread. Quack, quack, waddle, waddle....

Wow, big snow here! Just when I was all ready for spring time and warm weather. Doesn't help the time and mileage either.

I am a sagitarius, Nov 25th.

Have a good day, stay warm!

Ahoff - your bday is 2 days before mine - yeah another Sagittarius.

Just wanted to report my milage for February - total miles 37 and that includes double miles for a 5K I did on Feb 8. My time was 469 minutes (no doubling on that)

My milage isn't very good for someone who has a 1/2 on Sunday - oh well. Actually I think I did more than what I wrote down but I can't remember now.

Oh well Happy Monday to all.

Make that Three Sagittarians Dec 17th here.

Yes! It is on the track. The last time I looked on the website, they haven't mapped out the track but it is supposed to be on the track and on the grounds. If you go to www.trakshak.com, they have a link there that will take you to the races site so you can find out more about it. If you do decide to do it, let me know. We will meet up.

Hello everyone!

I'm not sure if I was supposed to post this in the old thread or the new thread, but my miles and minutes for last week were 3.5 miles, 50 minutes. Not what I was hoping for, but every week is a new opportunity!

I spent part of this evening creating my race preparation plans for this year, and I actually started getting excited about it! I have a fairly light spring (I'm still working 2 jobs through June) with a few smaller races and the 10-mile Broad Street Run in May. But then starting in June I will be on a pretty rigorous schedule, with 2 half marathons in September, and then the Disney full in January. The full marathon training schedule is going to be a whole new project for me, and will really take something. Putting it down in my daytimer made it real for me, and also made it that much more exciting! So my motivation has really shot up a notch after doing that work.

And I did some cross-training today - 1/2 hour of Pilates for Dummies. Youch, I am feeling it now!

My birthday: I'm a Cancer, and my birthday is July 14 (Bastille Day if you keep track of French holidays).

Have a good one! If you're on the East Coast like me, enjoy the snow. Hopefully that's the last snow I'll see until next winter!

Welcome to March everyone!

Add a Libra to the list...September 27th. :)

I also just signed up for a 5k on the 28th. Haven't ran in a 5k since last summer so it's time to get back into gear! There's also a Jersey Shore Relay in April (5 members per team...26.2 miles) and I've ran in it the past 2 years with my old gym. I'm going to stop by there today to see if he has any openings!

OK, I seem to have gotten behind in posting.

My birthday is July 1 (40 this year!)

My miles for the last 2 weeks:

Feb 15-21
miles: 15.6
hours: 3.15

Feb 22-28
miles: 14.9
hours: 3.0

Hi, Team!!!

Spreadsheet is updated for all the totals for February. A few haven't posted yet, but hopefully they will.

Liz...we know you'll be with us as soon as you can, so heal up and do what you need to do!

It's not about who has the most...I'm not sure any of us can keep up with Ryley! I know Bryan wants to, though! ;)

Ronda...I would try to get through the 5 min. at a lower speed. 5.0 or even lower if you have to, to build the endurance. Heck, I've been doing this for a long time, and do a lot of running at the 5.0 level. When you are trying to build endurance, THAT is the goal, not running fast. Different types of runs. Know what the run workout is designed to do.
For example...if I'm running long, or a recovery run...I run about 11-12 min. miles and am fine with it. If I'm working on speed with intervals...I sure am not running 11s and 12s... I'm running 10 min miles or faster, depending on the length of the repeat. Some workouts are to build endurance. Some are to build speed. On race day you put it together. (that's a simplified answer)

UGA and Lugnut...pixie dust for your dad!

Everyone, thanks for putting your totals up!
I'll be adding March in when I get a chance, so we'll be ready for next weekend. If I screw it up and have to change the URL (again), I'll let Bryan know.

As for me...busy, busy at work. Worked the weekend, so I'm about fried, and it's 3 more days til a real weekend. But that means 9 days down!
I am happy to announce that I have started actually SWIMMING again, using real swim strokes. My shoulder is a little sore, but I am progressing nicely and carefully. I am confident now to have a tri season starting in 4.5 weeks. :goodvibes

I did it! I sucked it up and signed up to join a team at my old gym for the Jersey Shore Relay. When the owner asked how far I want to run I think I lost my mind and said I'd do one of hte 6 mile legs! EEK! Time to start training some more! I have until April 18th! :)

Congrats on the swim! Did you have an injury? (Sorry if you mentioned this before but I must have missed it or not been around at the time). Slow and steady...that's my motto. :woohoo:
