Yikes! That was one BIG baby Gemini!! I'd be scared too!!

My DS was 7 lb. 11 oz. I was induced and 4 hours later I had him. With DD, I was told-don't go anyplace further than 15 mins away from the hospital in the last month-they kept saying I'd have her in less than 2 hours. 17 hours later, they had to do an emergency C-section. She was 8 lb. 9 oz. She was trying to greet the world face up and got hung up and was having erratic heart rates.

DM-I had my tubes tied when I was open for my C-section. I would've loved to have had more kids, but my pregnancies nearly did me in. The dr. asked if I'd like to have my tubes tied while I was open, since it would save me money for a later operation. Being the bargain hunter I am, I looked at Buzz, than at the doctor and said, "Do it!!"

He also tried to tell me it'd save Buzz discomfort later too if he had to have the snip. I told him not to even try that one on me. After 17 hours, major back labor and throwing up, I didn't give a flying rat's butt if Buzz experienced any discomfort at all. Look how he's acting over this finger. :confused3

I think women swap birth stories because (for a lot of reasons) but you go through this horrendous pain, but you get a HUGE prize for doing it!! :cloud9: A new little person to love. And later on when they get older- to yell at.

Poor Buzz. This one time, I went to the hospital and they cut my stomach open and pulled a baby out of it!! Now that's a boo boo!! :lmao: .
:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: Good one Linnie!

Count me in on that boo-boo x4, except the last one didn't come with a baby, just the end of babies forever for me.

Ok ladies I'm in. One c-section for me. But, Nova was 10lb 2oz.!
I'm scared to have another. :scared:

:lmao: :lmao: That is too funny!!!
I had my tubes tied the morning after I had my last. So 21 hours of labor, without a working epidural, 5 hours of sleep and then surgery! It was a fun day!

Got soaked for $6 beer, $12 snow cone, $5 beef jerky (nasty stuff). Mickey always has his hand in my pocket. :mickeyjum

Sheeesh, yuck, ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, groooooossssssssss, can we change the subject here. Don't get me wrong, I love my babies and was front & center at DW's delivery (not C-section) but I don't want to discuss that part.. :scared1:

Well duh ... you made me remember my other story. I planned on getting my tubes ligated after my 2nd baby. But when I found out Alec was going to be a boy my mind changed. I just couldn't go through with it. So 3 years later and my girl, that was when I decided it was time. I did have the tubes ligated with Brookie's c-section. I forgot that I couldn't have any more babies with that one. I guess the surgery last month was the absolute positive reason that I would never have that chance again. But it's all gud.

Heidi-I do take vitamins. I just have episodes like this. About 4 years ago, I spent 2 months sick. Once it starts to warm up I'll get better. I think this year is bad b/c I'm working/volunteering in LA's classroom and being around all those kids. Oof da. Talk about germs.

Take care of yourself Linnie

Buzz,

It's too bad you aren't getting the sympathy you deserve,

So I have a Great Big Kiss for you....

:rotfl2:

I want one too!!!!

Buzz's owie reminds me of one time when I was in Vegas with my crazy mom. I reached into my cosmetic bag and cut my finger on my razor. It was bleeding pretty hard and I didn't have a band aid so my mom gives me one. It was a used one that she'd had on her toe. :scared: Yuck. I told her Thanks, but I'd pass. She was totally serious about me using it too. :confused3

YUCK!!!!! Grosse

I'm glad you got your girl :goodvibes

Hey

:rotfl2:

Not trying to '1 up' anyone, but my 1st was c-section and 10lbs 15oz. I also had kidney stones while pregnant - that was far worse than the birth or the recovery!

Son #2 was 3 weeks early, c-section and 7lbs 11oz.

Oh it's on girlfriend! My firstborn was born 9 weeks early because I had severe preeclampsia and HELLP syndrome. He was only 2 lbs 8 ounces and we both almost passed. We were both lucky we made it to the hospital in time. Thank God.

Anyone wanna try and beat that? :lmao: I can laugh now because we are all healthy, for the most part.

Amy, that's not up'ing. That's a toddler! :rotfl2:

Disneyolic, I too was pre eclampsea. not that bad though. Nova went full term and then some. Glad to see it all worked out. What is HELLP syndrome?

I can't quite beat it, ;) but I am curious... How long was he in the NICU? Buzz & Woody were 8 weeks early and 3 lb. 10 oz. and 4 lb. 3 oz. respectively, but Buzz developed NEC (necrotizing entero-colitis) and had to have surgery and stayed in the NICU for 8 weeks. Woody came home at 5 weeks.

But... they were both natural and only 4 minutes apart. :rolleyes1 And, they had been trying to delay labor for 48 hours, then decided that it wasn't working, so took me off the "stop juice." I wasn't dilated at all at 8:00 a.m when they did that. At about 10:30 a.m. I asked if I could be checked to see if I was at 3 cm for the epidural - well, I was fully dilated and had gone through transition, etc. with no painkillers. :scared: They quick had to give me an epidural in case #2 turned after #1 came out and they would then have had to do an emergency c-section. He didn't, thankfully.

You asked for it!

DS was born 3 weeks early due to sudden onset pre-eclampsia accompanied by severe pregnancy-induced hypertension. My LOWEST BP reading that day was 206/121. THey moved a woman in active labor out of her room, so I could be directly across form the nursing station. THey had paddles out in the room, a nurse wiht me at all times, and a cardiologist on call. For some reason, they hooked me up to pitocin. After 12.5 hours of horrible pitocin-induced back labor with no drugs, DS started to spike, and had to be removed via emergency c-section. It turned out he was crooked, and they had been feeling his shoulder instead of head in the birth canal. He almost broke his neck, he was shoved so hard into the birth canal. My BP spiked so bad in the OR, I started to hallucinate, lost my ability to interact with others. I apparently turned white, started drooling and babbling incoherently, and started to shake. THey THREW DH out of the OR, and had to knock me out to get my BP down. DH was sure that was the last time he was going to see me alive. I almost died a few times in there, and the dr is still surprised we both (me and ds) lived though the birth. (se's a friend of mine now)

I spent 3 months on BP pills to try to regulate my BP, then had to go off of them, because I gave DH a "christmas present" and I got PREGNANT AGAIN!! :scared1:

FWIW - the only problems I had with DD were pregnancy induced hyperthyroidism, hyperemesis, and gall-badder sludge....all of which I had had during my first pregnancy, too. (and severe strss and fear!) SHe was breech and born via c-section 12 months and 35 hours after her brother.

Now: MORE UPDATES, Buzz, please!!

Running Amuk is FUN!!!!!
