So anyway, my mom and step father were out last weekend to celebrate LG's birthday party.

I remember about 10 years ago, mom used to pay for everything. Boy how times have changed. Now I get stuck with the bill. Sup wit dat?

Anyway, since MB is afraid of the dark now, we have to have dinner "out" before the sunset. The only buffet I could find open before dark was a suspect Chinese restaurant called "China Buffet".

Now the name alone had me worrying. If they can't be any more original than that, how was their food going to taste.

Upon entering the restaurant, I immediately notice that the drab decor and furnishings shouted "Old Breakfast Cafe" remodeld into a Chinese restaurant.

Getting good Chinese food in Billings, MT is not an easy task. This place didn't look like it was going to do a good job either.

I picked at various meats off the buffet and spit out a lot of gristle. LtP and I actually needed an extra plate. We called it the "Discard Plate" for all the crap that I wasn't going to swallow.

The only real item on the 100 items buffet that I found I could get down was the General Zso's Chicken. It was spicy hot and probably had a lot of carbs but at this point I'm hungry.

My step father absolutely loved this place and raved about it for hours afterwards! He went through 3 plate fulls and didn't talk much. Looked like me at a bratwurst factory.

At the end of the meal, they brought out fortune cookies. I took a photo of mine:

You know, those thumbs in the picture look awfully pretty.... too pretty to be Buzz. I'm sure he found the picture online somewhere and made up a story to go along with it. Linnie, can you verify???

Nope, it probably wasn't! But, I think it was probably some form of animal?? The trick is to figure out which one.

We have a chinese buffet here too. It really is the most discusting food I have ever eaten. It is next to our Walmart so when you are walking in you can smell it. Smells WONDERFUL!! I think they buy some kind of food spray that they can pipe into the air to get you in. Suckers!

serious...today was even warmer...about +15 celcius...the highschool even had the kids out running in their shorts and tshirts...
But just so no one starts worrying about global warming...I live in south western ontario...surrounded by water...and this is fairly common here...we are considered the "Banana Belt"...and they are calling for flurries by the end of the week.

My DH refuses to put up our Christmas lights/decos until all the leaves are off the trees, raked up and bagged. At this rate, our lights will go up around January sometime.

The reason that you did not like the china buffet, was because it was not "the great china buffet" the great makes all the difference....we have both and the one that is "great" is much better.

When our whole family goes out shopping on friday we are meeting at "the new China buffet"

that is the actual name. it actually is new with the last month. we wanna see how it stacks up to "the great china buffet"
