Seeing that the term limit of the POTUS is only 4 years, you don't think that maybe, just maybe, he might want to start working on day one? I'll give you that Bush should be looking for Bin Laden, but what was bubba's excuse? Two Embassies and a US Navy ship bombed and he didn't go after him?

BTW, something that you all forget, It was not determined who was behind the USS Coles until Bush was in office. It's been 5 years? Why hasn't Bush captured Bin Laden. Oh yeah, when asked about him, Bush said he was not a priority.

Just out of curiosity, if he'd done a "pre-emptive" strike in Afghanistan to capture Bin Laden, before 9/11, what would be your reaction? Knowing the uproar that Iraq caused...that was a pre-emptive strike as well.

The Game Warden looked into that... go read it yourself. Those desperately hoping to see the VP do a "perp walk" will be sorely disappointed again.

How could the sheriff's department run an accurate investigation if they weren't notified of the incident until the next day? If Mr. Cheney had had alcohol in his blood at the time of the incident, wouldn't it have been out of his system the next day?

There was no breathilizer test taken right after the incident, and any other evidence is based on hearsay by all of the members of the hunting party and the lady who owns the ranch. I really don't think any one of those people would admit whether or not there was alcohol involved, including the injured party.

I don't care whether or not Cheney walks from this. I do care whether or not he walks away from the Libby allegations.

Clinton fired a preemptive strike against Bin Laden, missing him by just a few hours, and I had no problem with it...it would have been no different with President Bush, IMO. However, your Republican Congress had a big problem with Clinton and accused him of trying to wag the dog to get the focus off of the Monica-gate nonsence. Maybe Bubba did know something after all...

Again, where is this assumption coming from? The sheriff's office was notified shortly after the accident, from what is being reported. The PRESS was not notified until a day later.

They were notified but it is unclear when Cheney was interviewed, and some evidence suggests it was not until the following day

The Houston Chronicle is reporting that the Sheriffs office was notified immediatly about the incident and deputies were sent to investigate. They apparently found no discrepincies in anyones story and did not suspect alcohol was involved. They are also reporting that Whittington was hit with approximatley 150 pellets from a distance of 30 yards and that apparently one of them had migrated to his heart and caused the mild or silent heart attack at around 6:30 this morning. They are not sure where the pellet is and are not planning surgery to remove it.
