I'm here! :thumbsup2

I had a laser peel yesterday along with a lipo-dissolve treatment on my chin and I am not too pretty right now :crazy2:. I can't wear makeup until Tuesday so I am going to give all my brushes a long overdue cleaning. I feel very disgusting looking right now, but I keep telling myself that it's only for a week.

It's going to be a long week.

But the good thing out of this is that I CAN'T add anything to my schedule. There's no way I am going anywhere looking like this. So I plan to say home, get caught up on laundry, study for a test Tuesday (Goodness, I hope I look more human on Tuesday) and just basically chill out at home.

Happy/sad had an e mail from MAc and did not bother to open it. They had a good deal. You could customize a pallet with 4 colors for 47.oo. I figured if each pan was 14.00 it would cost56 NOT including the pallet. I am so bummed...I opened it after the deal was over. Then again I did not really need it.

Also, upset because I lost my Philosophy concealer I think it fell out of my bag. They just had 15% off and I missed that one too! Anyone know when Sephora might be having their 15% off sale?

Thats not a deal!!! They are just trying to push the pallets now that they sell them online. Each refill is $11 and the quad pallet is $3.50 so its $47.50 to get the quad pallet and fill it up. You can also get teh pallet that holds 15. You do NOT have to fill up the pallet all at once. You can get the pallets and refills in any combination you want.

The 15 one looks like this:
***Note: I put one pallet over the lid of the bottom one so its not really filled on both sides. You are looking at 2 different pallets

Has anyone checked out the "new" Victoria's Secret makeup yet? I picked up the eyeshadow primer, which for $8 works quite well, and the brow gel. It came with a free travel brush set, which I rather like.

On the cover of Shape Magazine Jennifer Love Hewitt has on Diorshow mascara. I've been wanting to try this one. Who has tried it? Is it as good as Lash Injection?

BTW I have decided how I feel about Stila mascara. It is good for lengthening, but not thickening.

I have a diorshow mascara....as you know I have a friend who buys tons of high priced make-up and then ...just does not use it so I am the lucky recipent. Anyway she gave me a ton and I mean a ton a few months ago and there was a dior show...it was OK not traffic stopping. Again, my favorite was the Lancome Fatale. I had two of them and honest I am still working on my first one which I opened last NOVEMBER!! Of course I tried others inbetween but this was the best. I am betting that is why they do not make it anymore. Lasts too long...works too well.

THanks you made me feel better. MAC never really gives a good deal unless you go to the Cosmetics OUtlet and then they give 30% off on the items.

NEW USE FOR MONOSTAT!! As if we need another use... I colored my hair today and I put the Monostat gel around the perimiter of my face to keep the color from getting into my skin. Worked better than moisturizer and a lot cheaper.

Not sure if this is what you mean by "new" makeup at VS, but check out some of this chick's looks. She often used a makeup from VS - I think it's by some guy from Project Runway?? :confused3 Sorry, I'm not up on this stuff.

Anyway. It's Jessicaharlow.com. Cute girl and she does some nice makeup and some crazy stuff.

I sometimes use Diorshow Blackout and I love it. The brush is HUGE so some people don't like that, but it's thick and dark and doesn't flake on me or rub off. It's good for when I do a smoky eye look or something where I want thickening more than lengthening. (And if I want lengthening, I'll go over it with a coat of Imju Fiberwig.)

My favorite, favorite mascara that's a good blend of thickening and lengthening is MAC Plushlash, though. Usually MAC mascaras are awful, but this one ROCKS. Between the formula and the brush, it is my go-to mascara!

Well today is tuesday. You made it. How's your skin looking now? I would love to get a laser peel. What is a lipo-dissolve treatment? You are going to look fabulous dahhhlin!!!! :goodvibes

Okay still waiting someone bought the LI Lash a while ago and want to know how it is working.

WAIT!!!!! This is the best mascara and they don't make it anymore. I'm going to need to go breathe into a paper bag.......

I tried Diorshow and didn't like it at all. It didn't do much for my lashes other than add a little color - no lengthing or thickening at all. I was very disappointed and I really don't understand all the hype this mascara gets. Lash Injection and Fatale are by far the best I've tried, and I've tried many.

MPA, I'm considering the laser treatment around my eyes but the recoup time is putting me off. I only have a few very fine lines and crepeiness (sp) under my eyes so I don't know if it would be worth it. No makeup for a week????? :scared1: :scared::faint:

It looks pretty good! I finally got to put on makeup and stop wearing that gooey Aquaphor (YUCK! It looks like vaseline on your face). I still have some redness but the makeup covered it.

The worst was the lipo-disolve. I got it to get rid of any sagging under my chin. I didn't even have it that bad, but I figured if I was going to be hiding at home for a few days, I might as well do it at the same time. You start out hideous. They inject this stuff in your skin that dissolves the fat permanently...but you swell up like nothing I ever saw (or want to see again) in my life! It's now four days later and I look like I did going into the whole procedure. Soon I should be seeing some serious tightening under my chin.

If you are really concerned about saggy jowls under your chin, I would say go for it. But if it's not that bad, it would not be worth the money (roughly $500 per treatment) pain, and overall ugliness. I wore a hoodie all day Saturday around the house with the hood up because I didn't want anyone looking at me. I now know what my face would look like if I weighed 500 pounds, I'm not kidding. Thank goodness my chin wasn't that bad to begin with, because I will not be doing that again.

The whole reason I went through all this that I am getting some filler in the lines around my mouth. That is a week from now. Then I'll be done messing with my face for a while.

OK, back to the makeup. Any good sales coming up?

If I may chime in on the mascara thing. Now I'm no professional or nearly as makeup savvy as most of you, but I have tried the lash injection and frankly, I just don't want to pay for it again (same reason I have very few MAC products). :lmao: For two weeks I've been applying my Covergirl Lash Blast over the Urban Decay eyelash primer and I have to say, I am VERY impressed. I think it equals the Lash Injection if not beats it.

But, I am going to look for a Dr. tomorrow to get some Latisse. It's going to be my little splurge for myself. Anybody have any results or experience with it?

You will love it!! My formerly skimpy, short, stubby eyelashes are now beautifully long and lush. Makeup application is so easy now. One swipe of mascara and I'm done - no need for an eyelash curler anymore. I've found that I aslo tend to use less (and lighter colored) eye shadow because my lashes give so much definition on their own.

Funny story, I remember one night I was washing my face and I was so frustrated because my mascara was NOT coming off. I mean I was scrubbing , using remover, scrubbing some more, yet still the mascara was not budging. Then, I looked closer and realized the mascara was long gone - those were MY eyelashes! :lmao:

I tell you ladies, 2009 has been a breakthrough year for me. My 2 major beauty issues (hair and eyelashes) have been solved! :yay:

Ohhhhh, thanks KimR. I'm super excited now. I'm going to search for a Dr. in my area now. :)

So funny that you tried to scrub your own fabulous lashes off. :rotfl:

Hi ladies! I need some help. I just got the Sephora Blink, Wink, and Brow Eye Deluxe Sampler, mainly because I wanted to try the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion and Too Faced Shadow Insurance. I do not know how to use these eyeshadow primers, and I knew you guys could help. I live in hot humid Texas, have oily skin, and it seems my eyeshadow has disappeared by days end. Are you supposed to put the primer on a bare lid and then shadow directly over it, or do you put primer then powder on top and then shadow, or do you put base makeup then primer then shadow? Please tell me how you get the best results. BTW I am really liking using the Anastasia matte highlighter pencil right under my brow--the highlight eyeshadow I use really has stayed on great today. Thanks in advance!!!!

Wow, that is amazing. I'm impressed. Just remembering how much effort you put into your lashes in the past I have to say I'm sold.

Well, I'll tell you what I do. I put my shadow insurance over a clean naked eye, followed by shadow. I don't bother with powder or base on my eyelids. I don't live in a hot environment (darn it), but my shadow stays put all day. :thumbsup2

I need some MAC foundation advice. I currently wear studio fix but now that the weather is cooling, and I am flying two days a week for work, my skin is getting dry and it looks too dry so it's time for 'winter foundation' as I like to call it. In the past I have used studio tech but I think it is too thick and it slides off on me.

What I need is good coverage as my face is many colors in the morning and something that will travel well as I fly for work. I never cared for liquid foundations but I am willing to try something new now. I also need some tips about how to keep it on all day - my eyes stay perfect but foundation not so much.

Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Maria

I don't think your foundation is the problem. You need to change to a "winter moisturizer."

And if yor foundation is not staying on or is sliding off, you need to set it with a transparent powder. Then reapply it throughout the day. MAC makes a couple to go over their foundations.
