Yours comes off with water??

What are other people's experiences? Mine stays on at waterparks!!

Made the changes. :thumbsup2

Yeah, I was going to say that when I wash my face at night, I'll splash warm water on my face and the Too Faced will start to come off. I was thinking that I couldn't wear this to the waterparks. Then I read this...

I have been washing mine off easily with my regular skin care cleanser and water. That being said, I have not tried wearing it in a water park type situation to see if it runs when wet. I think there is a difference between being splashed in the face and trying to wash it off with soap and water.

Hmmm. Maybe it depends on what you do there. Are you a "lay by the pool and look pretty" swimmer or "jump in the pool and swim around like a fish all day" swimmer? I'm a "slide a few times then make a beeline for the lazy river" type swimmer.

Wow, I am so psyched that I found this thread! I have not been able to read the entire thing yet, but as a 30-something woman who uses mineral makeup and just noticed today that it can accetuate fine lines around my eyes, I am intrigued by the monitsat solution.

One question to anyone who uses it- I have a tendency to break out and use Proactiv to control my skin. I looked at the monistat link in post #1 and it seemed to say you won't break out, but I am nervous- anyone here use the monistat and have skin that tends to break out? If so, how did the monistat work- did it cause any breakouts?

thanks so much!!!!!!

I've been using the Skin ID and Monistat and no break outs. Actually, I started using Monistat in like January because my skin was being dried out by the acne treatment and no matter what primer and moisturizer I tried my foundation was sinking into my pores. The monistat cleared that problem right up!

I am a lay-by-the-pool-with-a-cocktail-and-get-in-the-lazy-river-when-cool-down-is-needed kind of swimmer!

:thumbsup2 So glad the dcs are big enough to swim on their own (with my close supervision, of course). I am not concerned about waterpark makeup. We're not going to the waterparks. I just want to look less scary in the summer heat and humidity.

I splash around. Not like all out swimming - but I go on slides, and the lazy river, and the wave pool.

And it lasts fine.

I wonder if the basecoat stuff youre putting on has anything to do with it? :confused3

GOOD MORNING QUEENS and MONISTAT LADIES!!! :lmao:

Just wanted to mention I had bought OPI's Suzi and the Lifeguard, from their South Beach Collection a few weeks back when ULTA was having a sale. Well I had a mani and pedi last week and the salon did NOT have that color...I brought my own and I also put an address label on the handle/brush...just in case they thought maybe it belonged to the salon....anyway, it is an awesome color and the tech's really liked it as well. :thumbsup2

I have very oily, acne prone skin. I use AcneFree (a ProActiv clone) twice a day to keep my face clean and zit-free. I started using Monistat about 6 weeks ago and haven't had any big breakouts. I did notice, however, that if I don't take care to clean thoroughly at night, little zits will pop up in places like the little crease at the edge of my nose, or right along the hairline. I just make sure to clean really well, use toner, and exfoliate at least twice a week. That seems to keep everything looking great.

I do really love the Monistat- it keeps my makeup looking great all day. Mattifies and evens out my skin, so my mineral MU goes on super smooth.

That is a GREAT spring pink! I love it!! :thumbsup2

I have a pink lipstick from Rimmel, of all brands, that I love. Gosh...lemme think of the name.

Check out this picture I found online - It's pink champagne:

It's a cool pink - and not something I'd wear all the time - so being nice and cheap, was good!!! AND I'm impressed with Rimmel. It's nice! :thumbsup2

AGreed. I am VERY VERY VERY good about washing my face every night, however - I have been known to be too tired to do it once in a blue moon. With ONLY everyday minerals - no problem. Maybe a minor pimple pop up here and there - but nothing to fret about.

When I did it with Monistat on - I had....no pimples.... but like almost irritated skin.... all bumpy. Not fun.

So I got'sta wash meh face.

THREE THINGS:

#1 - CVS has their Nivea lip balms on sale this week. And I dont know if I mentioned how much I like them. Theyre super duper nice. I looooove the shine one (works amazing under matte lipsticks so they dont look so cakey) and the Q10 - is wonderful for your 'at night, before bed, in your nightstand' lip conditioner. Theyre 2 for $5. :)

#2 - Am I the only one using the Neutrogena Facial Rejuvenator? Man, that thing is NICE! I love it.

#3 - I picked up some of that Lucerne brand from ALDI's. I got the day cream ($5) and the 3 pack of lipbalms. The balms were for the boys in my house. They seem nice enough. They seem to like them. Nothing WOW about them - except the price ($2). The Milk & Honey one we got, smells nice too. The Day Cream - so far, so good! I REALLY like it. And for $5??? Like I said - so far, so good. It's been about a week - so that's where I'm at with it. But it's a Q10 one... so, we shall see.

#2 - Am I the only one using the Neutrogena Facial Rejuvenator? Man, that thing is NICE! I love it.

I remember you posting about this a while back and I was curious about it, meant to look into it further, then promptly forgot about it! :lmao: I use a retinol cream on my face every evening and I LOVE what it does for my skin. I'm wondering how the Facial Rejuvenator would work with that? Because it sounds to me like they do basically the same thing and I'm thinking I probably won't get much additional benefit, but ...I don't know. :confused3

Oh and on another note, just for the heck of it, I tried my Lash Injection today without a primer. I really didn't think it would do much because I've never found a mascara that works well for me without primer - I might as well not even bother. I couldn't believe it - my lashes look great!! With NO PRIMER! Honestly, tomorrow, I'm doing one with and the other without primer to see if I can even tell a difference. That will certainly save me both time AND money! :thumbsup2

So I tried the Monistat for the first time on Sunday- I'm REALLY impressed!! It did seem to make the make up go on smoother (I use Bare Essentials for my foundation and blush) and I used it as an eyeshadow primer too and my eyeshadow stayed great!:thumbsup2 :cool1: Guess I don't have to buy the Urban Decay primer anymore! :woohoo:

I'm dying to go to Sephora and pick out some fun stuff but my cat just had to have surgery ($2000:sick:) so that cut into my 'fun money' quite a bit!!! :headache:

I love love love Sephora, but when I go in there I get so overwhelmed by all the choices and I never know what to pick!! I'm always worried I'll pick something out and absolutely hate it. I need help!!

I don't know. Your face might even get irritated with that much exfoliating, going on. I'm not sure.

YAY FOR NO PRIMER!!! :woohoo: And now go splash your eyeballs with water and tell me it comes right off. :rolleyes1

It had to be that. Let me know.

YAY FOR MONISTAT FACE TOO!! :woohoo:

Just keep in mind...anything you buy at Sephora - even after you've used it and tried it out, can be returned. That might make things easier for you.

What is it youre looking for / need / want / etc / etc??? :cutie:

I didn't know you could return stuff at Sephora after you open it- that's good to know. I wonder what they do with the stuff that has been opened after its returned?:confused3

I'm mainly looking for eyeshadows/lip glosses. I'm not 100% happy with the Bare Essentials, I almost feel like its not good enough coverage but maybe I'm putting it on wrong?:confused3 I have VERY fair skin so its hard for me to pick what colors would look nice. Also- when I'm in the heat my face gets super red so I wonder if there is a foundation that could help that problem?

Can any of you ladies recommend a great red lip color? For my sister's wedding, I'm wearing a cute floral dress with red patent leather heels and I thought red lips would be nice. i've never worn red lip color - it scares me

My go-to lip color is Burt's Bee lip shimmer - that's it. Can't even remember the last time I wore actual lip stick :confused3

What would you wear to get nice red lips that will stay on for awhile? (outdoor wedding in TX)

Thanks! :goodvibes

Have you tried www.everydayminerals.com , yet? You should. You can get a free sample to compare it to BE. Get like Semi-Matte, or even Matte or Intensive for more more coverage.

I wonder if Monistat - with a better coverage mineral makeup - would curb your redness. :confused3

I'm a lipgloss junkie and don't have much loyalty to them - can anyone else help out?

I'm on the website now- way too many options for colors though! I'm lucky in that I don't really get pimples or have many blemishes (I do want a concealer for undereye circles though) but I do want alittle better coverage than what BE offers.

When it comes to lipgloss I'm not picky with the brands- I just wonder what shades would look the best on me. I can use a cheapo lip gloss from the drug store (is this make up blasphemy???) because I apply them and change shades so much!

Sorry I don't have any suggestions!! I love a good red lipstick on other people but I don't think it would look good me, I definitely don't have the guts to try it out!! I'm sure you will look gorgeous with whatever you pick!!

Doesnt make me break out, and I have a tendency to.

That can't be it because I always forget to prime my lashes. :jester:

I use a retinol cream too. I got it from the plastic surgeon that I've been doing clinicals with, so it's pretty strong. I use that at night and beta hydrox in the morning (because it has sunscreen in it). I'm also using some hydraquinone to lighten some age spots. So I think I'm not going to be doing any more resurfacing, any more and I'm worried my skin will burn off! :scared: I'm really happy with the results so far.

I didn't know you could return stuff at Sephora after you open it- that's good to know. ?:confused3

Don't worry, they throw it out.

Not in my book! I already said how I love some of the Ulta brand foundation and eyeshadow. And I love my revlon liquid eyeliner. And you know, monistat is not found at Sephora, so there no knocking drugstore brands from me.

Glam Slam: Makeup Mondays - A Lesson In Lashes

Access Hollywood -

By Guest Correspondent Sharon Spaeth

LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- Beyonce, JLo and Madonna (to name just a few) always have long and lush lashes, yet whenever I wear mascara I seem to always get clumps! Celebrity Makeup Artist Nathan Johnson (whose TV credits include Season 4 and 5 of "Project Runway", the 61st Annual Tony Awards and the GLAAD Media Awards) provides tips on how to get perfect lashes!

Nathan recommends starting with an eyelash curler; one of his favorites is by Shu Uemura ($19 at http://www.shuuemura-usa.com/). Now I've always been afraid of these devices but Nathan makes it sound downright simple! "Set the curler as close as possible to the base of the lashes... do this before applying the mascara to prevent any chance of breakage." He stresses that all you need is one or two pumps - you don't want to wind up with crimped lashes.

In his makeup kit, Nathan has both drugstore brands and higher end brands. "If you understand proper application, you can make a $6 tube work as well as a $30 tube. Two of Nathan's favorites are L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara (less than $10 at most drugstores or at http://www.drugstore.com/) and Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes! ($18 at http://tartecosmetics.com/)

Okay so you've got your mascara, now what? After taking the wand out of the tube, remove the excess from the end of the brush, using either the opening of the tube or a tissue. "Don't worry about removing too much. The densely packed bristles are loaded with product." This is your best bet for preventing those pesky clumps!

Next, "lay the wand on top of the upper lashes. Be sure to set the brush as close to the base of the lashes as possible. Lightly shake your hand so the lashes settle in between the bristles. Slowly roll the wand between your thumb and forefinger. This will pull the lashes up and into the wand. Once the wand is properly placed, wiggle it from left to right as you slowly pull the wand up through the lashes."

"While the mascara is still wet, lay a clean lash comb on the lashes and quickly pull it through." Nathan recommends the Tweezerman Ilashcomb ($8 at http://www.tweezerman.com/) to separate the lashes.

Let this coat fully dry (very important!) before applying the next coat. This will prevent that clumpy look I always get! Three coats is usually best.

Finally, using what is left over on the brush, sweep a single light coat onto the bottom lashes. But go easy... when it comes to the lower lashes, less is more!

And another great tip from Nathan! "Very often mascara runs because it slides into concealers and/or eye creams. Prevent this by sealing them. Dusting a healthy layer of translucent powder, like Cover FX Setting Powder ($32 at http://sephora.com/), under and over the eyes will do the trick!
