Wanted to add a link for the two webpages for the undereye treatments I use.

I totally relate to the socked in the eye look. I had people ask if I had broken my nose when they were really bad.

Thank you for the info. I will definitely try it. "Socked in the eye" is a perfect description for how I look. I won't leave the house without makeup to try and hide these circles/bags. Thank you so much for the help!

I've been following this thread for a long time, and I have learned SO MUCH from you all. Thank you all for your pearls of wisdom!

Now I have a question that I don't think has been addressed (though I may have missed it)...

Do any of you SHAVE your face? When I complained about my thickening peach fuzz, my esthetician recently recommended that I shave it. She said that she shaves her face and that all the ladies who work in that spa shave. She said that it's one of the secrets of their beautiful skin. She said that she only has to shave every three weeks or so. She assured me that shaving would not leave me with razor stubble, grow back dark (mine is blonde), or increase my pore size.

She made it sound great, and my google search returned a good bit of support for her claim. But I'm still hesitant...just makes me nervous.

What do you guys think??

I have PCOS, and I have tried every hair removal under the sun. While I get waxed professionally, I will shave my upper lip if it is too hairy for my tastes using an eyebrow razor. I have had no ill effects.

My dermatologist also told me that plucking and shaving do not cause the hair to change (darken or get thicker). I had also always heard that's what happens - for example when you start shaving your legs. She assured me the hair on my legs is very different.

wow im glad you guys are talking about this.. also noticing more hair around hte sides of my face... i know nobody can see it. but i can in my magnifying mirror every morning and i know it seems to take makeup differently. a girl at my work got it lasered with good results, but too pricey for me. also too afraid to shave (except upper lip ) would love to hear more suggestions

I'm a brunette but have that transparent peach fuzz as well. along the sides of my face. I have one of those small 'personal groomers' and I use the small flat attatchment and shave it off. I don't really notice 'stubble' and it doesn't seem to be thickening.

As for dark hair (lip/brows) I do a combination of shaving/plucking. No difference there either except for the plucked hair takes longer to come back.

I used to wax but I'd be red and swollen for hours and I would get breakouts as well, so I just went to the shave/pluck thing. It's not quite as neat but it works fine. I would not use a regular razor but those electric ones are super for small fine work.

Will you be as strong as I was?????? Will you be able to resist????? I hear it calling your name .....Cathryn ROOOOOOSE this is Guerlain calling.......
terra cotta, meteorites.........buuuuuuuuuuy meee! LOL

BTW AM I the only one who feels that it is necessary to change shampoos up so that the hair does not get used to them. Very frustrating.

I'm back. I'm not strong. I'm a weak woman. Not weak, weak...just weak.

I ended up with Bvlgari Coral - http://www.fragrantica.com/perfume/Bvlgari/Omnia-Coral-14297.html

Hot dawg, it smells good! Just fantastic! I spritzed it on in Italy.... got to Japan and turned back around to get it. Love it.

I also got Givenchy Black Celestial Lip Gloss: (man... I'm having trouble, I gotta reboot. I'll put a pic up later) I'll be honest - I fell for the color in the tube. It really doesn't look like much more than a clear gloss when on. It smells good. I knew I was buying essentially a clear - but... I said I was weak. Considering I was there from 9/5 to 9/18, only 2 purchases of makeup-ey products is darn good.

I did buy a Coach purse to make up for the lack of makeup spending, though. Again, I'll picture link, in a bit.

Can anyone please recommend what I could possibly use to help reduce dark under eye circles? My doctor said I have "allergy eyes". I've had them my entire life. I typically just apply some concealer under a foundation, but they still shine through. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

It *is* allergy bags. Have you ever tried taking half a benadryl, or a teaspoon of it, daily? I find when mine act up, this gets rid of it....or at least tames them, some.

I've also found using highlighter, rather than just concealer works wayyyy better. I off-set the dark/bag with a highlighter.

I do like (and I found this because it came in a perfume set when I bought Laila) the "NO BAGGAGE" by Laila-Geir Ness is a reallllly good de-puffer. I was surprised. I made sure the next set I bought, it came with this, and not a gloss.

Have any of out TooFaced Lash Injection cheerleaders (cough CathrynRose) tried the new version? I would say the old one super-fitted this bill.

Haven't tried it. I started using Latisse and jumped on the BLINC train. I miss my old Too Faced, though. For thick, curved, long lashes - it was one of a kind.

Do any of you SHAVE your face?
What do you guys think??

Yes, and have for years. Like since high school years. I hate that fuzz. I bet somewhere in this thread I've mentioned I do it. It is not thicker, darker - nothing. I don't even do it regularly. SOmetimes I'll just be in the shower and swoosh-swoosh, I run the razor over it.

Umm... any coarse hairs, I have a strange fascination with plucking. So, I adore this thing: http://www.facialwork.com/ - I have 2, one at home, one at work (I work nights, with one other girl... don't gag that much. :lmao: ) I sit here and just roll, roll, roll it over my chin and feel the pop-pop-popping of my hairs. It's an obsession. ;)

P.S. Those hair ties that the site sells, are THE BEST hair ties in the entire universe. I only use those. They're AWESOME. Awesome, awesome, awesome. And they make a mad messy bun. They're just phenomenal.

That gloss reminds me of Urban Decay's Stardust Lip Glosses. They are fabulous. I have Andromeda and Glitter Rock. They are really nice and super sparkly!

YES I agree when you save in one area you must spend in another because it is like FREE money after all you were going to spend it on make up and you did not so it is there to go for something else! NIce Purse. Got one almost identical. Mine was a gift however LOL!

I know we all hate ULTA BUT they have a 5 off 10.00 coupon in their latest circular. Most likely you cannot get that much with it but it would work on Hair color etc.

I know this is a make up thread but I just had to let people know I was at Marshall's mega shoe store today and I got some B Makowsky suede boots for 49!!! I went on line to check them out and the cheapest price I dould find for the identical boot was 179 on sale! Okay I am going to come clean I got two pairs. One is black suede flat and pull on and the other is a chocolate brown suede pull on with kind of a modified spur metal on the back. THEY DO NOT REALLY look like spurs but it is the only way I could describe them. Check them out on QVC they are on sale for 179. If you are interested to to Marshalls. Also TJ maxx had a ton of Michael Korrs bags marked down. I have trouble with my little toe on one foot so it is really hard to get shoes and boots natrually I was thrilled. Just saying. 3 Boys Mom I bet you could get them at the Marshalls in Nashua.

Bella....you're not helping my budget..:rotfl:

OK, does anyone on this thread have super, super, super, super, super sensitive skin? I am at my wit's end here.

I am in my late 40s and have very dry/sensitive skin. It wasn't always sensitive as i used to wear anything and everything. It is very sensitive now.

I can only use mineral sunscreens (zinc/titanium dioxide), I can only wash with Dove, and I can only moisturize with straight up Vaseline.

I have been wearing Bare Minerals for years with no problems. I also use Sonia Kushiak concealor with no problem. I used Make Up Forever concealor which gave me hives where I used it. Beside the Bare Minerals, I use Lancome Kohl eyeliner, Sephora Atomic Volume Mascara, and Everyday Minerals shadows. This works for me without any reactions.

With the humidity now gone, I thought my face looked pretty dull and the Bare Minerals, for the first time, was really accentuating my fine lines. I decided I needed to wear a liquid foundation. I went online and researched some of the best "drugstore" brands just so I could try something out. I ended up with L'Oreal Visible Lift and Revlon Colorstay. The L'Oreal looked really bad so I cleaned it off. The next day I used the Revlon and it was actually very nice looking. However, by the end of the day my face was stinging so bad. I didn't have a visible reaction but the stuff hurt. I checked the sunscreen in it and it was zinc/titanium dioxide so I should be okay with that part of it.

On top of it all, I bought myself a sapphire blue Pixi eyeliner. I really loved the look of this and it really woke up my eyes. But, by day three, both my eyelids at the lashline were itching so I had to stop that. My Lancome Kohl pencil in brown is fine. Maybe I'll try that brand in a dark blue.

Anyway, I was wondering if any of you makeup experts had run across someone like me or have similar issues? I've tried brands that are supposed to be good for sensitive skin (Jane Iredale) and I get a lot of stinging. I have no way to figure out what the culprit is but I don't think my aging skin is going to look great in Bare Minerals forever.

I don't have any answers for your sensitive skin, sorry. But on the Bare Minerals and the sinking into lines, (I totally get that) I have to use their primer first, if I don't I get the old, dry look. Just curious if you have tired the primer, it works wonder on me and actually keeps me younger looking than liquid foundation.

PS. I have tried many other primers, but I have to stick to "Prime Time" the others don't work as well for me.
