The Magical DISmeets!! The Last week in August/Sept! See Post #1 for Meet Info

My friend had that done and was back to work in a week.
Good luck. I hope things will go as easy for your mom.

im just jealously lurking...........hoping your mom is well enuff to go and enjoy, hoping for lots of sunshine next week (s) .......ad wondering where the pre trippie is that u were supposed to turn in went to? LOL:rotfl2: Its 2 am here and I laughed out loud at that one:lmao: funnnnny!:rotfl:

Have fun all...........:grouphug:

We have had a major setback..... I think we are still going to go, but has been rather iffy the last couple days. Yesterday, my Mom had a DR. apt and she told him about the trip. He didn't think it was a good idea, as she has been having breathing problems lately. He wasn't going to say no, but wanted her to have a heart cath, just to be sure.... they scheduled it for today! (usually it can take a couple weeks to get one scheduled). Well apparantly they found a blockage, because they went ahead and put a stint in.. she has to stay in the hospital overnight, and rest for the next couple days. The thing that bothers me is that the Dr didn't come out and talk to me, so I really don't know how severe the blockage was, or if she will be well enough to be out in the heat. She says she is breathing easier and that we are definately going, but I am a worry wart....:confused3

So I am praying that she gets better, and that we will still be able to go!

Lots of pixie dust and prayers coming your mother's way!!!! If the trip is still on, definitely get your mom an ECV!!!

17 1/2 more hours until I jump into the van for the first leg of the trip! WooHoo!!!!! Everyone all set and ready?!?! The rain finally stopped long enough for the van to dry off so we could get the rainguards put on. Nothing like having a procrastinating husband. LOL

Just got home from the hospital... and the trip is a definate GO!

She is doing much better with the stint than she was before.... breathing a whole lot easier and looks better too. Thank you Jesus! She has to take it easy the rest of this week (so no packing for her) and can't lift more than 5lbs. She also can't be submerged in water for a week... so no baths or swimming... she can have showers though so she doesn't necessarily have to keep it dry. We already have ECVs reserved so that isn't anything new... and the DR has given an official ok for her to go!

3 more nights of work...
4 days till we begin driving....
5 days till we arrive!

ShhhQ -
Great news! I would consider getting a GAC card and maybe a w/c.
Im sure she is supposed to take it easy. Hope you all have a great time!

Just out of curiosity - do you have insurance? If so was it going to cover you if you had to cancel?

I got the insurance for the first time for this trip. Just because we are going in Sept.

No insurance.... I wanted to get it but she was the one that nixed it, as we were on a very tight budget she felt we couldn't afford the extra money!

Ohhhhhhhhh, what wonderful, wonderful news!!!!!! I'm so happy to hear how well your mom is doing!

I'll do my best to be there on the 30th...but just put me down as a "maybe" at this point as we are not planning our day-by-day itinerary until DSIL arrives on the 26th. If we make it, it will either be a party of 4 or 7. At this point it's looking pretty good as we have ADR's @ Concourse later that evening so the 30th would be a good MK day. :thumbsup2

What time is your ADR at the Concoarse? We will be there at 5:30 for dinner. Linda :)

shhhq,,
So glad to hear that your mom is doing ok, as long as she takes it easy she shouldn't have a relapse :pixiedust: I will keep my fingers crossed for you both

Well I got the car back today :faint: It cost over $500 when I went to pick it up,, It really upset me, I can't believe it cost that much to fix :sad1: What with that and the wedding tomorrow my spending money for Disney has taken a real blow. I really wanted to let the kids buy souviners and get a few things to put away for christmas. Also I had a shopping trip to Florida Mall planned so that I can visit Gymboree. I buy most of Cameron's clothes from there, but they no longer have stores here and I have to pay shipping from the US to here, so I was really looking forward to stocking up on clothes.
Oh well, thank goodness for the dining plan, at least I know we won't go hungry :lmao:
I will just have to keep a closer eye on my spending now,,, these things are sent to try us !

Well I think Calypso a go-go is already at Disney by now,, soon to be followed by the rest of us!!!!! I FINALLY got my travel documents today, so one bit of good news!
Hope everyone else is doing OK :flower1:

Great news! I'm so glad to hear that your mom is doing better and the trip is on. It seems a lot of us on this thread (myself included) have had worries over this trip -- it will be all the sweeter now that everything is worked out and a go!

Did we move the EE meet officially to 5:30 pm? We are all excited to meet everyone!

Off to get some more lime green Mickey's from Home Depot today. Don't know what happened to my other ones. :confused3

Less than 24 hours until take-off -- WOW! See ya all real soon! ::MickeyMo

I have my LGMH in my wallet with my drives license :rotfl2:. I figure if someone asks for ID, they must want to know if I'm a DISer right? :confused3

I am so happy for you and your mom:cool1: :cool1: . Please be sure that you take a few extra stops so she can walk(a little to get the blood circulating). You might have already thought of this, but your mom should sit in the seat with the most leg room, so that she can move them from time to time...very important to keep the circulation up. Make sure she has one of those mini-fans(even if it is a papre one)...for the parks so she does not get over heated(which can also raise the BP-as does the weight lifting) . I am confident that you will have a FANTASTIC trip...be sure to bring her medical/insurance cards just so you don't need them;) :grouphug:
