"Official" 2025 Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party

Do you prefer attending party at the beginning or towards end of trip? I've never been so undecisive when trying to pin down a date until this year. We arrive on Friday 11/28; options are Sunday, Nov 30th or Tues, Dec 2nd. We head to Universal for Orlando Informer event on Thurs, Dec 4th. Please help me choose which day will flow better with park days. My thoughts were Tues probably lower attendance but, Wed is last day in the park and kids may want to sleep later after long night.

We've put the party at the beginning of our trip. Since we drive from Indiana and stay off site the first night we arrive in Orlando, we like starting our first Disney day with the resort and Disney Springs before we head to the Magic Kingdom....plus we like seeing all their Christmas decor first. :)

Not sure if it's better or worse, just the strategy we use.

I prefer it at the end of my trip due to I am a rope dropper and later in the trip I am more willing to miss rope drop due to having visited all the parks already.

We are actually going to the party on our check in day. I kind of like doing that. We are local (within a two hour drive) so the plan is to hopefully get the room by 3:00-3:30ish, drop our things in the room and head for MK. We have also done the Halloween party on check in day. We are not rope droppers normally, so starting the trip with a late night is not an issue for us.

I am sure the Christmas party doesn’t get rained out as often as the Halloween party, but if you put something like this at the beginning and there is really bad weather that cancels many of the party exclusives, Disney will often offer another night as compensation.

I always look at what my other plans will be before/after to make the determination. If your kids will want to sleep in, will that be better Monday morning or Wednesday morning on their last WDW day? Are you staying deluxe and planning on using Extended Evening hours? There is also a Jollywood Nights on 12/1. Would DHS closing early the day your kids sleep in be problematic in your touring if you did the Sunday party?

I wouldn't worry about the crowd of the party itself that much since they have all been selling out in the past few years.

My thought is earlier in the trip is better for me. I have more energy and given how expensive parties are, I want to have the energy to do ALL the things.

We are doing the same. Granted this is our first time doing MVMCP so it's all new to us, but we have done some after hours things before. We figured since we are driving halfway the night before we can arrive before lunch time and wait for our room and enjoy the resort a bit before we head over to MK. (We are staying at Wilderness Lodge).
