The Magic, the Memories and the Food! February11 Update July 23 WPuck's Express

i'm glad you liked the wave! great reviews! my fiance LOVED his flat iron steak there a few weeks ago and is desperate to go back. i guess i ordered the wrong thing because i mentally checked it off my list :rotfl: maybe we'll give it another shot!

I think you've sold us on The Wave! We love having meals in the MK resort area so then we can pop back into the park for more fun.:cheer2:

We had a lovely trip to DLRP this February but realistically, if we want to get back to WDW (and the girls are both classed as adults now, therefore more expensive!) then we have to tighten our belts, holiday wise, till then. We can have a few days away around England to keep us going. If a great DLRP offer came up and we could afford then we would jump at the chance.

To be honest, we have had a pretty traumatic few weeks recently and the thought of a trip to WDW is keeping us all going. It's the magic healing power of Disney.:wizard:

Hehe, another one sold on the Wave! :lmao: We just enjoy that you can almost always get a last minute ADR and the food is really good and not your standard burger and fries! :thumbsup2

I know going to WDW can get pretty expensive, but have your looked into maybe getting an AP and booking with the US site? It sometimes sure beats the price of the UK site (well, not always - we use our tickets to renew our APs and 42% off of OKW AND Free Dining can't be beat! ;) But with 4 adults it is worth a try to go the US route! :goodvibes

I hope you are all okay, your mention of pretty traumatic weeks really sounds scary!
Hope you can squeeze in that trip to Disney rather sooner than later! Here's some pixiedust: for maybe winning the lottery! ;)

Try The Wave for breakfast. They have some yummy sweet potato pancakes that remind me of Boatwright's!!!

Jill in CO

We have had breakfast at The Wave and really enjoyed it. I don't care much for pancakes but they had a yummy wholewheat french toast with a fantastic berry sauce! :thumbsup2

We tried The Wave as our Group Meal in Feb 2009 with Jordan, Winkers and Blue !!All enjoyed their meal except maybe Blue's Hubby who had Green stuff( veggies) on his plate and he doesn't like green:rotfl2::rotfl2:He did say the Pork was great though!!!;)

:lmao: Oh, my friend's husband is the same way - nothing green on his plate - he tells everyone he's allergic to it! :rotfl2:

wow, the dessert at the Wave looks yummy.
thanks for the updae

They are all yummy, but we were most impressed with the ice-cream sampler! :thumbsup2

We have always loved The Wave! Ever since they opened we have enjoyed our meals there.
You definitely should give it another try! If you have a sweet tooth, you HAVE TO try the desserts! :goodvibes

Great review of the Wave Karin! We have never eaten there for supper but we have for breakfast before and really enjoyed it. Me and my girls had the Musilex (sp) with yogurt and fresh fruit and it was soooooooo good. Also, my DH loves the scallop appetizer he can get at the bar with a nice glass of wine. So we stop in often when we are there for a snack, as he likes to call it, and glass of wine. ;)

Hey Karin!!! Sorry for my lateness, but that was a great review of the Wave!!!

I wasn't sure what kind of food they were serving there, but it looks very good. I'll have to consider it for my next trip, especially since Andrew made a comment about it when we visited the Contemporary.

I like that the gelato weren't too sweet. How small were the desserts? They look like too much for just one person!

YAY! Another good one for the Wave! I put it on our ADRs for November...although, aLOT could change between now and then! :rotfl:

Thank you!
I did not know you could order the appetizers at the bar! Good to know - sometimes you just want to grab a bite to eat with your drink!
They have yummy breakfast items there, don't they - I really want to try the breakfast buffet when we are there next time. :thumbsup2

You are never late, Yuki! We all have a real life to cope with too!

We really enjoy The Wave. I love that they serve food that is a bit different from the usual park food.

The desserts are small enough to finish all three of them - think tasting size!

:woohoo: Yay for putting The Wave on your list for November!
Do I understand that things can change? ............. hmmmmm ............

Well you should have seen what I changed for our summer trip - I think not one of my original ressies for the second part stayed the same!

Ahhh, so the desserts were like bite-sizes? Sounds good!

Day 3, February 21

Early lunch at Krispy Kreme

After a long night at the Magic Kingdom until 3am we slept in. We got up at around 9am and got ready.
Instead of going out for breakfast we decided to have a cup of coffee in the room and try these.

IMG_9696.jpg

We nibbled a few and they are your regular shortbread cookies - Disney style! ;) :lmao:

I had one of these as well,

a coconut patty.

Before we headed anywhere else we took a walk around the resort and took some photos.

At around 11.30 we decided that instead of heading to a park on President's Day we would do a bit of offsite shopping.

And guess where we ended up .......

IMG_9651.jpg

Their "Hot Now" sign was on, so we just could not drive by.

IMG_9648.jpg

IMG_9649.jpg

Tom had some chocolate milk, which he deemed pretty sweet, but we were on vacation anyway.

IMG_9650.jpg

I stuck with my Diet Coke! Cold, refreshing ....... you know the rest! ;) :lmao:

And then we opened the box and "inhaled" these little beauties!

IMG_9652.jpg

And YES, we ate all 6 of them! :rotfl2:

We were too full to eat anything else until our dinner. :scared1:

Coming up: Dinner at the California Grill

Oh. My. Word.

Simon is obsessed with Krispy Kreme doughnuts!:worship:

Can't wait to hear about California Grill - one of our favourite places :thumbsup2

Last time we were at Krispy Kreme my daughter and I sat in the car and at all 6 of them. :lmao: They were yummy. Only felt slightly guilty!!!!

We are obsessed with them too! :rotfl2:
The only place for us to get them is in the US, so we really need to get our fill! :goodvibes

I hope to be able to post CG tomorrow! It is one of our absolute favourites too!

They are worth every calorie, aren't they? ;) We love sitting in the shop and watching the doughnuts roll off the belt! :thumbsup2

I know, I know...but I am just not a fan of Krispy Kreme. They are all over the place here. But. Not my favorite. However, I could easily consume quite a bit of Dunkin Donuts. I think I just like the cake like quality. But. I am on the low carb diet - so all donuts are verbotten - and even now your KK look delish! ;)

YOu were at Coronado Springs??? Where in the world did you find those??/ They are my favorite...that and Disney at the same time??:dance3:

Yummy Wave dinner, your mains look sooooo good! Desserts looked cute too :)

Love breakfast for the next morning, esp the coconut patties, need to look out for these in MK me thinks :teeth:

no way, they were imported ones from .........

IMG_9955.jpg

CALIFORNIA!!!!!!! :rotfl2: They were yummy though! :lmao:

Dinner at The Wave

LOL... well, you know the best produce is from California (I'm not partial or anything but you could probably guess where I live!)

I don't mind that you are not a fan of Krispy Kreme! One less person I have to share with! :rotfl2: ;)
We used to be huge Dunkin Donuts fans until we stopped at Krispy Kreme and they had hot ones! We were sold on them and we need to have them several times during a vacation! ;)

We always rent a car as I am not a huge fan of Disney transportation. (If I want to wait for and ride on a bus I use public transport here in my home town ;))
There is a Krispy Kreme store in Kissimmee which we go to. We have "kind of" figured out by now WHEN their production line is working and they have hot ones. So that day we just decided to try our luck and drive over.

I think the Hess gas station opposite DTD sells them too and you can find them on most breakfast buffets too!

We just love the Wave.
Those coconut patties were in Nicki's giftbag and I was just sure they would not make it home! ;)
We picked up a few more packets to take home and they were gone fast! :thumbsup2

Hm, am I right in saying that you do NOT live in Florida? :rotfl2:

We LOVED Californian produce when we were in California! Never had any yummier fruit than on that San Francisco Pier (well, maybe the view might have influenced me too! :rotfl2:).

How I miss the Wave! I really want to go back there again soon but there just wasnt anywhere in my schedule to squeeze it in and since I can duplicate that avocado citrus salad at home Todd thinks its just fine to skip it :lmao:

Those coconut patties are the best, I wish I had one right now!

Dont get me started on the Krispie Kreme donuts...we used to go to Old Town for car shows twice a year and the girls would pile in a taxi to pick up dozens of them for breakfast while the guys detailed their cars. I could easily eat all 6 by myself! Oh how I miss them...the apple fritters are so good from KK too...that and a nice cold glass of milk, ah crud, now its Soy or Silk for me

Hi friend!

How are you doing? No Wave for you - don't worry, IF Todd wants it, HE can get in! :rotfl2:
Next time you visit, have their soup, it comes with a tiny savory muffin -ours was jalapeno and it was out of this world good!

Coconut patties and I    :lmao:

Apple fritters? Hmmmmm, make a not to try next time! Only 9 weeks and 6 days to go! :rotfl2:
I was shocked to read about your lactose intolerance! I have been "allergic" to milk all my life, funnily enough I can eat yogurt and cheese! Go figure! Just no liquid stuff - makes me pretty sick.
