It was a fun breakfast, character interaction was good and then starting the vacation off with a DISmeet ....... it was perfect!

We're trying Cape May for breakfast in August, so your review was very helpful. My nephews love Mickey waffles. Glad to see they can get some there.

We both really enjoyed the meet. Isn't it fun to see how meeting people you only know from chatting on the internet can turn into a fun event and making new "old" friends!
Mickey waffles are yum, just try to steer away from the chocolate ones I have yet to meet one that does not taste burned!

You are going to love Nicki and Todd! They are such nice and warm people! There is nothing better than meeting some of your DISfriends - and meeting YOU was the perfect intro to DISmeets for us!

Cape May Breakfast looks great, I went years ago and plan on heading there this trip for breakfast and dinner. Glad you were able to do a DIS meet and over breakfast sounds very cool!

Thanks for the Cape May photos! We are eating there in a little over a week! I'm not a big breakfast eater in general but as long as I can get a mickey waffle, I'm happy! And I am looking forward to seeing the characters in their beach attire! Glad it was such a fun DIS meet!

It looks like you had a great DIS meet at Cape May! Nice food too We've never eaten there but I do read good things about it. I'm not too big on buffets either since I don't eat that much but we do really enjoy Crystal Palace for breakfast.

We went to Cape May breakfast in 2009 and enjoyed it. I think it was one of the better breakfast buffets...well better than when we went to Chef Mickeys.

Starting off the vacation with a DISmeet was so much fun! We were already because we were at the same resort as Tina but when Nicki told me she would be there as well and we would ALL meet it was the icing on the cake!

It was such a fun time, even though none of us got much breakfast into our bodies! But we did a lot of chatting!

The characters were real fun and since we had a little one at our table they took quite some time.
Breakfast itself was not bad, but not great either. There were a few really nice items on there though!
And a Mickey waffle is definitely something to look forward to!

Yes, we finally made it to Disney! The meet was awesome, there's not much I can say about the food, as you can see, we all didn't eat much!
Unbelievably enough we really enjoyed Crystal Palace! I rather have my breakfast served to me, than having to queue up for it and have people leaning over my food, but CP was fun. The characters were nice and the food was pretty good!

We have only been to Chef Mickeys a few times. It was a breakfast that was included with the tickets when we still used an Austrian TA. While I loved the atmosphere, the food was nothing to write home about!

All the characters came by our table, some even twice. I don't know why we didn't get one of all of us with a character, but we all took photos of Max meeting them!

Day 2, February 20

An ice-cold treat from Ghirardelli's

After we had said our goodbyes and parted ways, we knew we could not check in at the CSR, so we decided to hop over to Downtown Disney and have a look around.

We took some time walking through the stores and finally decided it was time for something sweet, so walked over to Ghirardelli's to pick up a free chocolate sample. ........ milk chocolate caramel bar!

And then it dawned on us ...... why not have some ice-cream? It was February and there was snow back in Austria! Why not celebrate spring with an ice-cream sundae.
So we walked over to the ice-cream parlor and started reading the menu. After a lot of reading we ordered, applied the AP discount and went straight over to the wall with the San Francisco mural to wait for our treat!

It did not take long for our treats to arrive.

Tom had a Quake Shake - A chocolate bar infused milkshake. He chose Milk Chocolate and Peanut Butter with Vanilla Ice Cream. Thick creamy and VERY tasty. There was a nice peanut buttery taste and little flakes of chocolate. But this was HUGE! He was not able to finish it all.

I had the Mint Bliss - one scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream, one scoop of chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate hot fudge sauce, whipped cream and a square of Mint Bliss Intense Dark chocolate. May I say that I LOVE mint chocolate chip ice cream, but together with the hot fudge this was heaven on earth!
Again a really huge helping and once I hit the chocolate ice-cream, combined with the hot fudge, it got a bit too sweet for me, but there was no way I would be able to finish it anyway. Maybe next time I could ask for just mint chocolate chip ice-cream!

After we had finished our sweet treats we drove over to the CSR to try if we could check in.

That mint bliss looks amazing. We stop in at Ghirardelli every trip but I have never had their sundaes.. maybe in August

You just convinced me to try a Mint Bliss next month. I always go for the peanut butter, I just love it too much too pass it up but in the back of my mind I regret not trying the mint.

We are spending an afternoon at DTD and catch the opening of POTC 4 movie...this looks like the prefect pre movie snack!

I wish I was a bigger icecream lover but I just am not !!! I love strawberry sundaes and a few flavors but I don;t like chocolate icecream or peanut butter !!I know I am weird !!!

I just found your trip report. We have always picked our own restaurants. But nowi am really enjoying reading your report and others to get help in planning our next trip in November. I know I want a mint bliss and to try WPE. We have never gone for a breakfast buffet only dinner buffets and I think that will not change. Love your report and look forward to reading more!
