Ghiradelli's looks so yummy...... i asked my hubby why we have never eaten here....and he said the same resaon we never ate at the one in san fran.... i said because we were unaware of the yummy goodness that comes from it. It will definatly be on the list of must do...especially with my SIL's love of everything ice cream. :thumbsup2

Yipee - I found you here! :)

With all the times we have been to Disney - we have never done Wolfgang Puck! We usually end up at the Earl of Sandwich when we do DTD. But my youngest daughter does not like it. I wonder if WPe would be more to her liking??

And speaking of never done - I have never been into Aldi. Then again, my husband does all the grocery shopping :thumbsup2

I told DH we WILL be going to WPE soon. I've been drooling over your pics for years and are finally close enough to pop in during one of our day trips to the World. Yummo!

The chicken pesto sandwhich was the first thing I ever ate at WGPE and I still love it. I cant wait to get to Disney to eat some yummy food. I haven't had ice cream at Ghiradelli's yet only iced coffee so its a must do this trip after seeing those pictures. Thanks for sharing.

My, oh my, I have not been to this review in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time! So sorry, but we had a few things going on in our personal lives. Most of them are solved again now and I am trying to catch up here! :thumbsup2

That mint bliss looks amazing. We stop in at Ghirardelli every trip but I have never had their sundaes.. maybe in August :)

I just LOVE mint chocolate chip ice-cream. It's a flavour we don't have here, so I get as much as I can on vacation! :lmao:
You have to check out their sundaes, they are amazing! :thumbsup2

You just convinced me to try a Mint Bliss next month. I always go for the peanut butter, I just love it too much too pass it up but in the back of my mind I regret not trying the mint.

We are spending an afternoon at DTD and catch the opening of POTC 4 movie...this looks like the prefect pre movie snack!

Peanut butter is another flavour we do not have here. So that's another one I need to fill up on during vacation. ;)

But honestly, any Ghirardelli sundae (and I've had a few ;)) is a disneylicious treat and perfect pre movie snack! :goodvibes

Mmmmm Ghiradelli's.

That Mint Bliss is soo yummy, I've had that before. I also love the banana split! :)

It's wonderful, isn't it? And YES, we had the banana split too. I remember it was huge and I was NOT able to finish it! :rotfl2:

I wish I was a bigger icecream lover but I just am not !!! I love strawberry sundaes and a few flavors but I don;t like chocolate icecream or peanut butter !!I know I am weird !!!

Don't worry, Rosie, not everyone loves ice-cream as much as I do! ;)

I just found your trip report. We have always picked our own restaurants. But nowi am really enjoying reading your report and others to get help in planning our next trip in November. I know I want a mint bliss and to try WPE. We have never gone for a breakfast buffet only dinner buffets and I think that will not change. Love your report and look forward to reading more!

I am so happy you found my dining review. Sorry it took me so long to welcome you here! :flower3:

We usually spend about four weeks at Disney during the summer, so we get to try a lot of restaurants and WPE is one where we head several times a trip. We love it!
Tom and I don't really like buffets at all. Very rarely do we go to one. I'd rather have my food served to me than having to serve myself ;)! But then it is just the two of us and we are quite adventurous eaters and don't mind spending quite some time at restaurants!
More reviews coming up real soon!

Those Mickeys are too cute! I love the one on your TR of Mickey in the bunny suit as well! :goodvibes Have a great Easter!

Thank you! I was quite happy with them too!

Ghiradelli's looks so good! I'm looking forward to trying their peanut butter Sunday this summer.

We have had several different Sundaes over time at Ghirardelli and so far I have yet to find one that I did NOT like! ;) :lmao:
Hope you get to try the peanut butter one this summer! :thumbsup2

Happy Easter to both of you

Thank you, Rosie!

All I can say is Ghiradelli's here we come...:rotfl:

:thumbsup2
Have a spoonful of their ice-cream for me too! :goodvibes

It's funny you should mention the one in San Francisco! We started our addiction to Ghirardelli there! :thumbsup2 We stayed on Union Square, right opposite their little shop there and I had LOADS of chocolate there and ice-cream down by the pier!
You have definitely got to try it - they even have a HUGE sundae to share, something similar to the kitchen sink - I think it is called "the earthquake". :goodvibes

Yipee - I found you here! :)

Never done WPE??????????? If you follow my other dining reviews there are lots of photos of WPE, maybe they might help your daughter decide if she likes the food there. For me it is definitely the best CS restaurant on the DDP! I love their thin crispy, very authentic Italian pizzas, their breakfast options and of course their Creme Brulee!!!!! :lmao:

:thumbsup2 for your husband doing all the grocery shopping! Lucky you! I do not blame you for not having been to Aldi, while it is a very reasonably priced store, it is not a MUST see one! :rotfl2:

I LOVE that picture!!!!!

I knew that you would. Did it remind you of somewhere you have been to a short while ago? ;)

I told DH we WILL be going to WPE soon. I've been drooling over your pics for years and are finally close enough to pop in during one of our day trips to the World. Yummo!

Yeah! You will be eating at WPE soon! Hope you get something really yummy
and make MY mouth water with your review of it! :lmao: :thumbsup2

Yummy ice cream, the mint one looks divine :)

I just LOVE mint chocolate chip ice-cream. We don't have it here, so whenever I get to visit my aunt in London or go to the US I need to induldge in it! :goodvibes

Ever since we first tried that sandwich it has been an absolute favourite of mine! We make it a point that it is our first and last restaurant every trip we take! :thumbsup2
And please try the ice-cream at Ghirardelli's. The other place we absolutely love for ice-cream is Beaches and Cream! Yum, yum, yum!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Day 2, February 20

Lunch at the Sassagoula Floatworks

Since our room at the Coronado Springs Resort wasn't ready around noon we decided to just head over to Port Orleans French Quarter for some lunch.
I had read that they offered one of the new Designer Burgers, so I was eager to try it.

Once we arrived at the resort we headed for the food court and found it pretty empty.

We stopped to take a look at the menu options and finally decided to share two entrees.

One of them was the Cheese Steak Sandwich. We had had it some time ago at the Crystal Palace and enjoyed it very much, the one at Port Orleans not so much. The bun was one of those which instantly crumble when you touch it and it was a bit on the dry side too. There was a good amount of meat, but FAR too many peppers. All you could taste were peppers. So we put aside a fair amount of the peppers and had the meat without the bun. The fries were your standard Disney fries.

Our second choice was the Creole burger topped with crispy popcorn shrimp and remoulade sauce. Now that was a completely different experience. The bun was a crumbly one too, but the burger was moist and the sauce on top of it cut through the richness of the popcorn shrimp. There were A LOT of popcorn shrimp on top. I am not sure this would be easy to eat if you hold it in your hand, but eating it with a knife and fork, it was a wonderful treat. Again, it came with fries and they were your regular kind.

We liked the look of the Disney tortilla chips, so we picked up a bag of those as well. They were nice, but nothing special. Loved the bag though! :rotfl2:

Once we were done, we walked around the resort and found out that our room was still not ready, so we went shopping to Kissimmee.

Coming up: Tasty treats

My oldest daughter became addicted to cheesesteaks after our stay at POFQ! I don't think we had bun issues - but I do know that she asked for it without peppers :)

Now I am off to catch up on your other updates.

Glad I found you, always love your reports :goodvibes

I try to avoid sandwiches on THOSE rolls !! The worst I had were at ABC Commisary at DHS!!! I find to often the healthy choices are awful !!! I wouldn't touch a veggie burger or a turkey one !! I like my unhealthy food:rotfl2:The shrimp on the burger looked GOOD!!!

Thank you for the welcome. :goodvibes Last year we never even made it to Downtown Disney - but we were only at WDW for 6 days. This year it will be 7 days so I think we will go. If we get the flight I want for our return trip - we leave Orlando at 6 Pm so I think that is a great day to go to downtown after we check out of our resort and have lunch at WPE and a treat at Ghiradelli. Buffets are good for us because there is usually something that everyone likes. With kids it is hard when they order something and then find it is not to their liking. At least with the buffets we know they will eat!

Karin - I am back on the boards to drool over Disney food and no trip to the board is complete without one of your reviews.

Right now, I am craving, rolls with cheese and Italian ham, chocolate bars, WPE pizza (which I know you didn't show yet but I feel sure it is coming, right?), WPE creme brulee and a ghiridelli sundae!

LOL- you'd never guess that I just had lunch. Unfortunately, it was just a salad!

Karin...Just found your dining review report and I'm lovin' reading it! I'm always looking for new restaurants/food to try and your pictures are awesome!

Seems like you are a must read here and I'm going to have to go back and read some of your other reports.

I'm looking forward to reading more!
