Just reading about your swingset installation made me tired! My Dsis had a swingset for her kids delivered last weekend. I was so glad that she had someone install it rather than having everyone over to do it. I think we would have put it together upside down if the task had been left to me and DH. I wish we were handier, but that's definitely one of our shortcomings.

Blood and Gore: The Aside Continues:

I left you with Crazyeyes. And me. Sorry. We were chatting and getting to know one another when Tommy piped up that he was VERY hungry. And I realized that apart from some crackers and juice he'd had nothing to eat all day. It was now probably around 2 in the afternoon. That's Canadian time. Or it's 14:00 in military time. I think. But I'm really just guessing at that. I hadn't even had coffee yet today. But sometimes I tend to do that. Forget to eat or drink and, then, realize I'm VERY hungry when my patience becomes very short. Like the other day when the Crossing Guard waved merrily at me and I felt like violently tearing her limb from limb. OH! Methinks SOMEONE needs a Snickers Bar. Blood sugar ~ way down. Of course I'm exaggerating here... but sometimes when I get busy I forget to eat. Usually, though, I don't forget to feed my children. So I broke up the Dismeet with Crazyeyes and was instantly on a mission to feed my youngest son. I looked out in the hall and saw no one official. Just people waiting, hopelessly, to be seen by the ER Doctor. I grabbed my purse and Tommy's hand and decided to explore at little. A little ways down and across the hallway I spied a room full of people. Also waiting. Surprise. It was four policeofficers (Ok... but they were all MEN... so I'm gonna just say policemen now) sitting on stools and chairs waiting with another patient. He was a handsome man. Tall, dark and disturbed. Dressed fashionably in a full orange jumpsuit. Complimented by accessories. We'll call them handcuffs and leg-irons. 'Cause EVERYONE has at least one of those two "accessories"... don't they? Heh, heh. Well, don't look at me. That way. I have a whole Tickle Trunk of Toys. Sooooo... the sight of what must be a very dangerous man and his posse made me stop in my tracks. And wander towards the doorway to that room and say "Hi". I just couldn't help myself. I was bored. And I have a bit of a wild hair. So to speak. So I said, "Hi there. We're starving... this little guy needs some lunch. You wouldn't have something yummy tucked in the pocket of that jumpsuit... would you?" And I smiled. The very dangerous convict, who we shall call Hannibal Lector, smiled sweetly back at me and said, "Well... as a matter of fact I DO have a little something in my pocket. And if you'll just help me out of THESE (raising his hands with the cuffs) I'll be happy to give it to you." Then he winked. And, suddenly, I felt all dirty and cold inside. Bad Mel. Bad Mel. I really shouldn't be talking with very bad men. One of the policemen looked over and said, "M'am...". Ok, Ok... I'm outta there. I think. But, I'll be back. Because of that wild hair and all that. Tommy and I headed down to the Nurses' Station and were shocked to see that Tammy Faye Bakker had moved to Canada and got herself a new job. Where she can actually HELP people. The nurse was more frightening than Hannibal Lector. No kidding. She was kinda old. Looked like she had smoked a million cigarettes already that morning. She had big fluffy '80's hair with teased bangs. More make-up than a gaggle of female impersonators and a big silver and blue belt over her nurses' duds. Well! Kiss my grits!!!!! When I picked my jaw up off of the floor and santized it... I asked her about food for Tommy. She said we could wander down to the cafeteria but that we might miss our place in the rotation if the doctor ever gets to us. Great. She also told me that there was only one doctor in the ER today because the other one had called and had broken her leg and couldn't make it in to work today. Huh? I'll bet she took herself and her broken leg to ANOTHER hospital for treatment. That's what I was betting. Then Tammy Faye offered to bring Tommy a box lunch that they keep down in the ER for occassions such as this. She told us to go back to our room. Which we did. Stopping only briefly to look in at Hannibal Lector and the Posse. Hi guys!!!! Want to play I Spy Something White... with us? AGAIN? Then my phone rang. In my purse. Yes. Yes. I know. You're supposed to turn your phone off when you enter a hospital. But I never do. I don't know why you're supposed to turn it off. But I suspect it's one of those "Rules" or "Laws" which you don't really have to follow. To the letter. So I left it on. It was Mellyman asking about Tommy. And as we chatted, Tammy Faye popped in with a box lunch and smiled (Shhhuuudddderrrr!) and handed it to me. All the while noting that I was on the phone and yet not caring. At all. Hummmm... it's one of those rules, I say. I opened it up and Tommy tore into it like I hadn't fed him in a week. Yikes! He ate everything and looked like he wanted more. Back up the hall towards the Nurses' Station, wave to Crazyeyes, nod to Hannibal Lector and look around for Tammy Faye Bakker. Now... YOU try to use those three names in one sentence. Heh, heh.

You're kidding, right? I said you were stalking me, making unprovoked and unwarranted advances, giving me inappropriate nicknames. I never said you offended me! I think you're just kidding, but in case you weren't it should be clear: it takes a whole lot more than adding "bie" to my name to offend me. I'm offended by people who pay rack rate, or like Maelstrom (I can't even abide LaLa anymore; I've actually got her on "ignore" now). I tried changing my screen name but dang if people didn't quickly figure out who I was.

NicoleMarie has the beginnings of a really good trip report over on the TR Board. What I Learned From the Dis. I encourage y'all to check it out. Not just because she says nice things about me, Mel and Vettechick, but because it's a good TR and I think she could use some encouragement.

YES, I am and hoping to extend till April. I am going to be one of those people that they complain about here. Don't care. It is a once in a lifetime chance and I have always wanted to do this. Lots of things have happened in the past year that made me realize that if you want something in life you bettter get it while the getting is good.

We are leaving in August, going cross country, coming back home for Christmas and then I am going to Disney World. I want to make a commercial just like at the end of the Super Bowl.

Making me retire at my young age ticked me off in the beginning, but they actually did me a huge favor. I think I will send them a postcard about once a week.
