Tho' Zzub is quite fond of his cash
He gives it away in a flash
To Disney it goes
In buckets and flows
And causes him his teeth to gnash

Ok, I'll stop now.

This is so funny! My 11 year old is learning about different kinds of poetry, and he (well, we, actually) had to write 3 limericks for homework the other night!! Ed, you are treading on dangerous ground with the Nantucket line.....watch your step (and the typos)! :rotfl2:

Rhonda, I have read the DaVinci Code. Twice. Well, I READ it, then I LISTENED to it last April on our drive down to WDW. On headphones. I thought it was a great read. But I liked Angels & Demons better. Can't decided if I care to see the movie. It's getting crappy reviews, but the audiences seem to like it. 'Course, I never like movies if I read the book first. Ya-Ya Sisterhood, for example, YUCK, and lots of others that escape me right at the moment. I am a big reader. Usually, I'd rather just stick with the books.

Okay, I'm out until after my school meeting. Later, gators (I KNOW, some of you don't like Gators. Sorry).

Oh NO.

One of my favourite rants. I'll try to resist... except to say: I REFUSE to read it. Absolutely REFUSE. It's like a law, now, or something. That everyone shall read the Da Vinci Code. There has been some pressure applied to me... from family and friends. I even... GASP... picked it up once and started it. Read a bit. And then hated myself for it. So... I don't know if it is, indeed, good or bad. But...

I'll say it here: I will NOT read it.

Now... I will sit back and wait for this thread to be locked. And the black helicopters to start circling my house.

Is it just me? Or is anyone out there feeling the same?

We could get together and start a secret society. Or somethin'. Heh, heh.

Well, see, we read it years ago. Before it became so controversial. Back when it was just a work of fiction. Not that it isn't a work of fiction, now... but to hear some people tell it, it is either the GOSPEL TRUTH, or INTENDED to be the GOSPEL TRUTH. It's not. It's just fiction!

I don't care if you never read it, Mel... I often feel that way about stuff, myself.

I was just wondering who had, and if they thought it had all been blown out of proportion!

And, um, Mel... we already HAVE a secret society. Or somethin'!!

Come on you guys, you are making my head hurt. I am done with school for the semester. Don't make me read literature.... I beg you. I can't take it. My head may explode, you don't want the guilt over that do you? Or do you?
I have not read the DaVinci Code, I haven't even picked it up. I was under the impression that it was just a book. I don't quite understand the hoopla associated with it. I am reading Harry Potter books, Narnia, and the Shopaholic books. As well as any CSI book that may come out. I bought the Undomestic Goddess the other day. I will start that soon. It made me think of me. I am undomestic. Although I actually ironed my own pants to go to church the other day. It was astounding, people were shocked. Really. They were.

Mel I'm coming to hide at your house, I haven't read it either.
I'd rather reread my HP books or a James Patterson or Jeffery Deaver novel.

Oh yeah.

I forgot.

BUT... now YOU'RE OUT, Rhonda!!!! I think.

Or... didn't I add that one couldn't read the Da Vinci Code to our M's Maelstrom Mission Statement when I put it on the first post way back when?

I guess I forgot.

Silly me.

Heh, heh.

Ahem, just, uhhhh, dropping in to say hello. This is a drive-by, post Dentist, pre-lunch, pre-pre-Walk for a Healthy Georgia.

shoutouts: Tinkinadrink,NM,LaLa,Horsey,Mel,Ash,PMM,poop (the both of you), PongoJen, QueenGrammy,Frickles,DMM,JamiJam,Haley and Mr. Silly,YAK,Kimmiepoo,Em'sMom,SherSher, Rhonda, ODG, Chapstick (oops, I mean Odin), JDUB, Lou, Ed, ZZUB, MG, and Mark, all lurkers and all regulars and all diets and all decafs. If you didn't see yourselves here, I didn't mention you because I don't want to make the others jealous. You're that special. (Except MP, who is not in here because she is THERE, RIGHT NOW, and I am a little jealous and that small and petty.)

Mark - I hope you didn't let them dust the INSIDE of your car. It is impossible to ever get really clean afterwards.
Horsey - hope everything went well yesterday.
Everyone else - I think about each and every one of you often, throughout the day, and wonder whether you are all handling the end of school activities well, if Grammy is having a good time on the pre-school trip, if Ash's cookies are all gone, whether I am EVER going to remember to send Jami the caramel recipe, etc. But those thoughts, sadly, seem often absent when I am posting, and so, I forget people. I'm lame.

I am still several pages back. Hopefully I won't take another computer hiatus tonight. (But I did get 6 solid hours of sleep before the boy woke me. WOW. So this is why I used to go to bed at 9 pm?! Oh yeah, now I remember!)

Oh, you are sooo lucky, you big cheater. And I am so working.

And to continue in the literary vein:

"He prayeth best, who loveth best
All things both great and small;
For the dear God who loveth us,
He made and loveth all."

Morning Maelstromers!

For the love of Jack Frost - who said it could be this COLD!!!!

It was a long weekend here, first weekend to the cottage, camping, cookouts, opening pools, drinkouts, fireworks, etc. and we were decked out in our WINTER ATTIRE!

I hope all you in the west/south melted this weekend. (not really :teeth: I'm just jealous)

I had to catch up and take some notes so........long post:

MEL - it is so good to have you back. Don't even try convincing these people about Caesars. I tried with the Coolers. Baccardi Breezers, Canada Juice, whatever. In many parts of the states Coolers don't have REAL alcohol.....Mike's hard is malt beverage.....eeek!

You are real close - your reference to MAC Hospital - I went to school there (many years ago) and we recently took DS there. I can feel the vibes!

Horsie - CONGRATS on 1,000. I wonder if anyone will post 666 on 6/6/6 - :rotfl: MANY THANKS for the great SPICE GAME.

I failed, just a slight passing grade, but Congrats to Chappie! 2I&B and Marky, Mark for special mention too!

Poop - you need a "Timmies" where you live. No coffee problems there!

2I&B - I feel your pain sista on the sports. Try Competitive Figure Skating.........to quote a rather over-the-top skating Mom,

"I want a new car, house, outfit, croc's, Disney trip.....(insert whatever here)"

"Can't"

"Daughter, Ice Skates (plays hockey/gymnastics....whatever)"

Java/Zzub - I like cheese........but no cheese soup for me! Yuk! or YAK! I'm not convinced that is Canadian fare. Poutine, yes, soup,????

Mommy P - Hope you are having a great time. In honour of you, I bought my first pair of Croc's - the real ones - white - this weekend.

PMM - Is it August yet?

Ed - Great Troll pic

I have a poem......In honour of Ed's picture of the trollls

You can pick your friends
You can pick your nose
But you can never ever
Pick...........................

nevermind I'm afraid of the FF (family friendly) but my kids love boogie poems and stories

Segway.......

Enough with the poems or I will put you all on ignore!

Ignore Shout out.....Horsie, MG, Jamal, hoop, ed, Sheri, MEL.
I'm with Sista Frickles....enough or I'll start quoting Barry again!
Although Sheri your poem a few pages back :thumbsup2

Ashclan: A big shout out for you.......and some of these  I know how you feel......but like you said no sence in whining......they'll all just offer you some cheese with it!!

Marky - Great Story! What? Did you ever figure out why she said that? :lmao:

hoop - great list. I always felt sorry for offsites...... :teeth:

A special shout for Lil' G - just because I like your posts!

GA - hey, what's up, what's happening, how's it going?

Lala {{{{{{{{{{SLAP}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Everyone else.......LY/MI
