lymi

Hey Mama Melons!!!

Did you know that there's a picture in your TR... the last installment, I think... in which your youngest daughter looks EXACTLY like Tommy. Exactly. Only the hair is different. That is not to offend, mind you, because Tommy has been referred to as "she" many a time. Especially when I let his hair grow. It just freaked me out a bit.

And... PROPS (that's major props) to you for the water rescue!!!! I laughed!!!

My DH would want to go home to sleep too, probably. Old MEN!!!!

Cheers, Mel.

ED I don't know how to quote an edit, even though Chappie explained it wonderfully, but your comment about 'brokeback splashmountain' has won you the 'edit of the day' in my book!!! You people are so witty you kill me!

Mel, I am getting so jealous. I loved the "shopping before going to the World" part of our trip! It is guilt free spending because you MUST have it. I hope your sweet family has a wonderful time!

I just picked 13 gallons of strawberries. Lala is going to send me her pie recipe but if anyone else has an idea of how I can use these babies, let me know! No stawberry soup recipes though... IF I can't get rid of them, you're all invited over this weekend and we'll have some strawberry margaritas! Cinco De Mayo friends! Grammy don't worry, I am in a rental and there are definitely no chandeliers here. :woohoo:

I have a strawberry salsa recipe around here somewhere if you're interested. (Don't judge, people. I shared it with my coworkerrs who all said EEEEW and there was NONE left.)

I'll take that recipe. I think it sounds good.

Once again - I LOVE you, Grammy!

Going to look for it now. I THINK i know where it is.

Are we chatting tonight? I am all alone in the house tonight. My men have left me to go see the Grizzlies play.

Ok, really this a reply to an earlier post but I am feeling a tad bit lazy right now. Field trip with 80 fourth graders, and the teacher had a migraine...and I am a district employee so I am the ONLY parent there allowed to be alone with kids... otherwise it has to be two... even in a huge very open museum ...but even more so in a dark theater... in which we saw a cool IMAX movie ...but as you can tell by this run-on my brain is about fried now... I am not cut out to handle fourth graders... gimme kinders any day...no problem...I can pack my angry eyes and it is all good...angry eyes do not work on fourth graders...

Any how I just HAD to ask...

Have you ever heard of or read the book

The Man That Stole The Atlantic Ocean

Have you? Have you??? Because, it is set in Trenton New Jersey, and it is very funny for a book aimed at 7 year olds. And it was one of Mr. Silly's favorite books ever... and our kids love it too..I think it is out of print now... maybe...not sure... anyhow...just wondering...

Grammy I think you should really live it up and stay with all the rest of the really cool people at Pop Century :cool1:

Really about 75% (maybe more) of us are staying there.

Just an idea.

Strawberries into Salsa into Avocados

1 to 2 tablespoons balsamic or raspberry vinegar
1 to 2 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons finely minced red onion

Salt and freshly ground black pepper
1 pint strawberries, rinsed, hulled and sliced
2 ripe avocados
Washed Boston or Bibb lettuce leaves
In a bowl, whisk together vinegar, olive oil, honey, garlic, onion and jalapeno. Season to taste with salt and pepper and combine the strawberries and adjust seasoning again.

Peel, halve and pit the avocados. Spoon some strawberry salsa in avocado hollow and serve on lettuce. Makes 2 servings.

Enjoy!

Lil' Grumpy....Aww, you included me in your post. I'm so touched. I would be honored to be your official translator. Yes, my dear, you can call me Dear.

Easy women! The only dear calling around here will be between me an you!

It's sounds like you have forgotten what the Italian spice is like!

Meet me in the tub at 9. And no, you CAN NOT bring the lap top!

Me? Mad at you? I was mad at you? Say it ain't so!!!

(I could never stay mad at you for more than, like, 30 seconds.)

Now the carpenter bees are another story. They are REALLY interfering with my life at the stupid rental. Thank goodness I will be outta here by Friday.

Why is no one chatting??? Am I the only one without family tonight?

Poor, poor, pitiful me. It's just me and the doggies. :sad2:

I was running around in the dark trying to find a match to light a candle, and my cell phone and a flashlight. Just about the time I find it all the lights come back on. I got all the goodies right here besdie me now.

Not last time I checked. But I can be there at the drop of a hat.

I am SO making that recipe. In June, when we get decent strawberries around here. I love New England but it stinks that we have a very limited amount of time to get fresh local produce.

Kinda like Melons' 90 days of sandals. We have that too, except it's about 45 days of sandals. And 15 of those are with socks.

Honey, sandals with socks is a fashion faux pas! Didn't you get the memo???

I just watched the new Nick Lachey video on vh1 THREE times. That poor, beautiful man. I hate Jessica Simpson. How could you leave THAT????

Sheesh.

See? I have WAY too much time on my hands right now. I almost cried, gosh darnit.

Yes but we do get some real tasty stuff, between the berries, the apples and the corn YUM.

Can't wait for the farmers market in Bedford to open.
