I have never been to New Orleans, but I've always wanted to go. Tricia, do you know if the touristy spots are back to their old selves?

I know some. The French Quarter was mostly spared, and the University area. I don't know about the Mansions and the crypt areas, though. Betcha you could go to the Katrina board though and see lots about it.

Yes all the tourist areas are back up and running. It's the surrounding suburbs that are still in the rebuilding process.
