Keep me in the loop on planning a meet. I would love to go...DS and I could always come for a few days. OR, I could be a bad mommy and go by myself .

I'm up for it truly. But it should be late in the year for me-next time I go I want to either be there for MNSSHP or MVMCP.

Next year I am planning to take a trip to Europe sometime. I've never been and I have always wanted to go. Vienna is first on my list. Its a goal..But this December when DBF gets back we are going to go to Taiwan for a couple weeks to visit his family. I so need a vacation!

A friend of mine who is lurking about wants some sympathy and pixie dust and is too afraid to post. Here's her story (with her permission):

We met DH’s family for dinner…so it begins. Dmil has some serious poor me issues that cause a lot pf problems. Their dog got out about 3 weeks ago and ended up at the pound and they found him. He has fleas and kennel cough. She has not treated the fleas!!!!! They have allowed their other dog around him as well. Umm hello. Anyway the boys, DH and his brothers, are on her constantly and here we go again. She refuses to deal with the fleas. Letting the dog in the house and on the furniture!!! She does not want to treat them b/c the treatment could hurt the cats, but the cats are not even in the house. They are still at the old house that she wont put up for sale. She has been moving them to the new house for over a year…so needless to say they will never be moved. This is her excuse for not treating the fleas. This will trickle into issues w/ me and DH because I wont let the family come to our house b/c I don’t want the fleas here. Untreated they will spread like wild fire. I also refuse to go to their house. And we go round and round.

They have a sister that mooches off of the in laws and drives us all crazy. My DMIL is now lying to all of us about her, she is on disability for no reason. Has not worked in the past year. Used all her sick, personal, vacation, FMLA, emergency, and disability days so now they won pay her. She moved home and did not even tell her employer. She now lives 4 hours form work!!! Not that she works. Anyway now DMIL is supporting her and not paying their own bills. She runs all over town, parties like crazy….

DFIL has early onset dementia and deeds 24 hour line of site supervision, basically he is 5 with hormones!!!

Oh my mom also joined us for dinner and has called me 4 times since we left her house an hour ago and DH is mat at me that she keeps calling…

I won’t go on anymore but this gives you an idea…

It sucks to argue with your DH about family issues. My DH and I argue about one of our families at least twice a month.

for your friend Paige. It sounds like you're going through a lot. I'm sure sure what advice I could offer, but maybe offering to get the dog treated yourself might be the only option and could save you a lot of heartache in the long run. Sorry to hear you're having a hard time. P&PD that things get better soon.
