Well, the only place it hurts to touch is just above and behind the little sticking out knobby bone on the right side. But when I walk, it hurts in the middle on top, and it feels tight underneath.......don't know how else to describe that. But when it gets really bad, the pain radiates to my ankle, from the right side, around to the front middle.
Ok, is it a ligament kind of feeling or a bone kind of feeling? Do you know what I mean?

I don't really know. When it hurts on top when I'm walking, it feels like a bone. But when it doesn't hurt while sitting, I don't know what to think. The pressing on the side doesn't really feel like a bone, but would a ligament be tender like that? And then Idon't know how myankle comes into play at all. I should also mention I have a high tolerance for pain, so it may actually hurt more than I think it does, if that makes any sense at all.

Paige,

I had a problem with my foot last year. I thought it was a hairline fracture of some sort, but xrays showed nothing.

My doc had me wear one of these (or a similar one) for two weeks...and it helped A LOT!!

You can probably get one at a medical supply place...is there one near you?

Hi D2, I thought you left................I'm sure there's a medical supply here somewhere..........I may look into that....thanks!

Weird, I had warm water in the foot spa, and while it feels warm on my non-hurt foot (hey might as well treat them both), it feels cool on my hurt one.

Absolutely the ligament can hurt to the touch. The ligament for your ankle actually wraps around your whole foot in the shape of a figure 8. It goes around your ankle, then down under the arch and back up around. I think you need to see an orthopedist, for the initial visit, you will only have a co-pay, and most have x-ray machines and other stuff in their office. You may have a torn ligament or at the very least an injured one. The major treatment is probably stay off of it, but I know with kids that is impossible. Did you twist your foot in any way that you can remember?

That's because it is inflamed and it is very numb to sensitive things. It is trying to cope with pain from walking on it, hot water is nothing.

I had to step away to tend to some other boards I co-host (and my co-host is out of town) and I haven't been there since Tuesday! Had to make sure my peeps didn't feel like I'd abandoned them.

I wasn't sure that shoe thing would work, but it really did! And I was trying to get rid of the pain before a trip to Disney, so I was really good about wearing it every day for two weeks, even when my foot started feeling better.

No, not at all. I went to the reg doc and had xrays. He wants me to go to an orthopedist or something, but the copay on a specialist referral is 50 bucks...............we've got med bills from dh as usual, and then the one from my tumor........they sent me a collections letter today, although they can't as I am sending them some, just not the whole thing like they want. Probably tmi, but hey, while I'm at it, why not just put it all out there.......................

Why does that work, does it hold your foot a certain way or something?

What sorts of boards? Are you in competition with these? :rotfl:

I'm sorry, and I agree that they can't send you to collections especially if they agreed to accept payments. Did you tell regular Doc that you couldn't do another medical bill right now, but you need to find out what is wrong? Maybe he can arrange for you to be seen another way, or maybe seen by a podiatrist (not really sure I trust them), but still you need to call Doc back and tell him that you are not any better. If the ligament is torn and it gets worse by using the foot, you won't be any good to anyone. You could wind up needing surgery or worse be in a cast or something.

not sure...all I know is the bottom is FLAT and very stiff...it keeps your foot perfectly straight as you walk. I think that allows the tendons and ligaments (as Mary mentioned) time to relax and heal

BTW...Hi Mary!! I didn't mean to ignore all the good info you were giving Paige! I also noticed that we're kinda neighbors (I live in Hampton).

Oh and its not TMI if you need to bounce things off of people. Sometimes it helps to just get it off your chest. I don't have many friends at home that I talk to, but I have one at work that I talk to, and it helps to bounce things.

Yes!!! :rotfl: I spend WAAAAAAAAY more time here!

One board is for dogs...we talk about everything Dog related (and some not so dog related stuff too). And the other board is a Carpal Tunnel Syndrome Board.

I actually need to go to bed - have to coach soccer in the AM and a grumpy me does not mix well with nose-picking, wrong-way-running, pseudo-soccer playing 5 year-olds!

Hope your foot feels better!

Nite all - see you tomorrow!

Ahhh...Woodland Road!

We're doing a construction project there right now...fixing the intersection at Fox Hill.

I used to live off Fox Hill, but now I'm over by the AMC24 theaters.

I've only been here 10 years or so...but this is home to me.
