DD has a dance competition, DF has a major doctor's appt. that week - wait - have I told you guys that he has cancer? I can't remember if I have talked about that. Lets see, oh, other family members are having a cow that we were planning on being gone on Thanksgiving. You name it, it has gone wrong.

Well, I need to go get the kids up and start getting ready. After church, I'm going to help the kids go through their winter clothes and see which ones fit, which ones don't, and what they need. I'll try to come visit later! Have a great first day of October!

Stephanie I'm sorry to hear about your DF. I hope everything turns out OK. We had to cancel our trip last year. That's never fun but once you reschedule it makes you feel better.

I didn't know he has cancer. What kind?

He has lymphoma, non Hodgkins. Supposedly the good kind, as in usually people don't die of it, they just die with it. He was initially misdiagnosed though, and given way way too much chemo, so his bone marrow was reduced to the point of not being able to produce blood cells. So he has to get transfusions every so often, and he most likely won't be able to handle chemo again when his tumor returns.

So we planned this trip, but you know how families are. Some can't afford to go, so they don't want any of us going. It is a mess.

I didn't know anything about your DF. I'll add him to my prayer list.

Hopefully you all can plan a time when everyone is happy.

Thanks! I am not too upset about it. I just hate that we are going to miss the Christmas stuff. It is just a pain to have to rework all of the carefully laid plans.

Sorry they are being like that. Too bad they can't understand how especially when someone is in poor health, families need to have those special times together while they can. I'm sorry you are going through such a difficult time.

Thanks! We really have accepted things. Knowing you have a limited time with a loved one is heartbreaking in one way, but you have that knowledge of a timeframe that is not usually true with most loved ones. So while it is terrible in one way, it gives you time to make peace in another. Does that make sense?

I know all to well what you mean. I look at it like this. I was, as well as the kids were, very upset after "Katrina" messed up our plans. Now we are so close to going. Only 47 more days. If we went last year I wouldn't have this trip to look forward to. It would be over for a few more years. Everything happens for a reason. I have to believe that. Maybe your next trip more family will be able to go with you and y'all will have the time of your life.
