The Mad Chatters thread Part 2

It wasn't actually "Parents Day".........I just meant there were several parents who needed to talk with me (or vice versa). I think it was okay. One is just concerned that her daughter behave well, and I think I put that to rest, but it was thru notes so won't know really until tomorrow. The other I asked to come in, child needs a placement change, we meet tomorrow. The other was concerned about something I asked the kids to do, and wished I had sent instructions with it..........when I said I had told the kids what to do but maybe he didn't understand, she said he often doesn't understand me and he's had English classes from pk on, so she doesn't know why it's only me he hasn't understood (am I supposed to know why? :confused3 ). So I just said I'd be more careful to be sure he understand.............she wasn't impolite, but seems to not be happy for some reason........not sure why, he isn't getting into trouble, making good grades, I've sent some good comments home........ :confused3

Every time a fire truck or sheriff's car goes by (not very often but happens about once a month of so)with the sirens on at night, the coyotes start to howl. It's so funny...it's like they think they are talking back or something. Scared me to death the first time they did it though! I was out in the pool, it's pitch black in the yard and they sounded as if they had me circled in...they weren't anywhere close, it just sounded like it...but it was freaky anyway. :rotfl:

I used to go down to the creek on my parents' land at dusk and listen to the coyotes. It was a bit of a thrill to hear them coming closer and closer until they seemed to almost surround me, and then run home, burst in the door with all the blazing lights and the warmth, and be safe.

Too funny!

I will be back in a bit. I have to get the boys in bed. It's way past time. See ya in a few.

You gals have coyotes, huh?

We mostly have deer and turkeys... it's pretty funny to hear the turkeys gobbling.

Let me see if I can find a picture of some of our turkeys...

I don't Cassi, I'm a city girl now.

I grew up in the country.........old style...........cut wood for heat, cooked on a wood stove, no air conditioning, grew and raised our food, went berrying, fixed fences for the cattle, milked goats, gathered eggs, dug our own worms and seined our own minnows for fishing, whole nine yards..............

:rolleyes1 .........I can skin a buck, and set a trot line, a country (girl) can survive......... :rolleyes1

Here's some turkeys walking past our house last winter:

:rotfl: One time I saw a whole group fly over the neighbors' house!

I can work a gobbler call box! My dad never would keep turkeys, said they were so stupid, they'd look up if it started to rain to see what was falling on their heads, then they'd drown because they'd forget to look down......... :rotfl: Not wild ones, of course, those are smart little buggers! Hahd ta kitch 'em (hard to catch them)!

Wow - that's quite a way to grow up! And to think my DH's 8 yr old goddaughter's mouth drops open when I tell her there were no showers when I went camping as a girl scout.

I know, it's weird because in some ways my childhood resembles my mother's generation...........yet, when we were in the city we saw Star Wars, ate at Pizza Hut and McDonald's.........we had TV (had to put up a giant antenna and then only got 5 channels :rotfl:) and later on video games, banana seat bicycles and green machines and sit 'n spins and Rub a Dub Dolly.

It's like I straddle two generations............I guess that's why I seem so "contrastive"..........according to one of my colleagues....... :rotfl:

So what are you up to tonight Cassi? What was for dinner?

Chicken burgers - that was a first... not too bad!

And corn on the cob - MMMM!

What was dinner at your house?

Mac&Cheese, pizza, spaghetti and lots of drama! The story is back on the previous page. Kids in bed now, dh in front of tv, and I can RELAX..............

Oh yes I saw it... I'm enjoying my mostly drama-free nights while I can!

Our doggy's been sick though... I should get my butt up from the computer and go give him all his meds before bed..

Have a good night!

G'night.

Jay, you never came back.........hope everything's okay. I'm amazed you can even get on with that long trip so close now. You must have to pack practically the whole house for that long!

I'm back...and yep...something did happen. Jason has the stomach flu :( Everything was great, bed went off without a hitch, lots of hugs and kisses, nobody upset, nobody fighting bedtime...and then it hit...I heard that horrible noise and knew I had a sicky on my hands :(

We have had a lot of that going on with his friends lately. From what I have heard it passes quickly. I have everything from my eyes to my toes crossed in hopes that it bypasses everyone else.

This rots. :sad2: :sad1: :faint: However, the bright side is that it's not next week and we are not supposed to leave for WDW in the morning... :upsidedow

Well, I am gonna sign off now so that I can get some sleep...just in case I am up and down all night.

Night all. :tiptoe:

Good morning, Mad Chatters! Here I am at 5:30, just wanting to say hi to my pals! Hope everyone has a great day! I am so glad it's Friday, you wouldn't believe it!

Yes - hooray for Fiday! :cheer2:

Jay I hope your son is feeling better soon and that everyone was able to get some sleep at your house!

Hi Michelle!

Hello, Chatters.

I came home sick from work. I threw up 4 times at work today and a couple times each the past 2 days. I stopped and bought a home pregnancy test on the way home and took it. Negative. :( Not sure what it is.

But, at least I have the rest of the day off! Woo hoo! But I think I'll take a big fat nap after I go pick up Ainslee from Kindergarten. Me no feel so good.

Is anyone else around?
