Morning Kelly how are you doing? I'm pretty good. Its finally Friday. DBF and DBF's bro are going away this weekend to get Bro's apartment ready. I don't have to go because I have to work. So its the weekend with me myself and I! What shall I do?

I'm doing really well! I'm glad it Friday too! I forgot to post a TGIF, so I'm gonna look for one quickly. :thumbsup2

Oh man, too many choices! But shopping & laying around the house in my pjs would be at the top of my list!

Ooh that sounds wonderful! I think I'll vote for that too :thumbsup2
Maybe I'll try to find some Crocs to try on. I've been curious as to how they feel since all these millions of crocs threads starting popping up. I'm curious to see what all the fuss is about.

Crocs are AWESOME! I have 5 pairs  I prefer the real thing to any knockoffs.

My newest pair are Mary Janes. They are actually pretty cute and VERY comfortable!

They are exclusive to Journeys right now though.

I don't even know where I'd find a Journeys around here. I used to have one pretty close to me in Ohio, but everything is so hard to get to in Chicago. I'll check around though

I was looking around and saw that Lyric Opera individual tickets are on sale now! I want to go so bad. I wanted to do a season but it didn't work out this year. DBF doesn't like opera as much as I do, so he was kind of a stick in the mud about me renewing my season. But if I could go to 2 or 3 shows I would be so happy!

You can search for a nearby store here:
http://www.journeys.com/

Journeys totally has the best selection of colors. If they don't have your size, they'll order it for you and ship it to your house for $3.75 extra, which is a pretty good deal.

that is a good deal-considering it would be too difficult to make it up to a store twice. But the link isn't showing up though *nevermind now it is*

Hi Sarah! I don't like the looks of Crocs, but the MJ ones one posted look kinda cute :teeth:

Mindy, if DBF doesn't like the opera, maybe that's the way to go! :thumbsup2

I just wish I had someone else to go with to relieve him of having to attend so many!

I'll PM you tomorrow when I have more time! I think I can come up with a few ideas. :)

I wish libraries were magical places everywhere (I even have a castle in my storytime room), but as you clearly know from your post, every state has different funding priorities.

Does the library at least offer a bunch of storytimes for the pre-k set?

I know around here we have a VERY hard time attracting school-age kids, hence why I do video game and card game (yu-gi-oh) programs. But even those programs get connected to books.

My new director got us a movie lisence (so we could do staffing-friendly movie programs all the time), but the staff totally rebeled and the public didn't show up. Now we spend that money on more important things.

Anyway, I'll PM you more tomorrow!

Many many many thanks!! :)

Our library does have one story time a week. However, this doesn't attract very many people. We have been there many times and been the only family who came. We don't go much anymore since my boys are 10, 6, and 5.

Anyway, thanks for any ideas you may have!! :) I look forward to that PM *heck any PM, I don't get many* :):)

Good afternoon all!
My boss "kidnapped" me to go to Navy Pier and view the Tall Ships as they come in! It was amazing. Tall ships have muge multi-masts and are jjust so graceful and fast and big! Really cool site to see and it killed an hour off my day! My boss can kidnap me anytime!
So how are you this afternoon?
Cy is off to learn management the Disney Way. Oh how I envy him right now. Have a fab trip Cy!
And Denise is off to the beach! Beaches are really cool. I hope you have a great time!

Navy Pier is one of my most favorite places!! I took my oldest ds to Chicago for a long weekend last year and we spent two entire days there. We did the Children's Museum, the IMAX, the indoor gardens, walked along the boardwalk area, shopped, ate at Bubba Gump's, rode the Ferris Wheel (what an amazing view of the city) and spent a ton of time watching the lake and it's ships/boats.

Thanks for reminding me of that!! :)

I'm so glad you get to go somewhere fun. Wish it were me! We are talking about going to King's Dominion on the 12th with some friends. But that's it! There are a lot of neat day trips around here, it's just a matter of finding a good, non-hot day to do them!

Tonight we are going out to dinner, but for today, I want to stay home. Next week when it cools down I will be planning some stuff with the girls, but this week the heat is really bad.

Started a new thread. Charity responses would be greatly appreciated, since I've been getting rejected lately (not by you guys though!). :guilty:

you got it :wave2:

Hello, ladies!

Paige, thanks for the reply on my thread!

I was just munching some of my oatmeal toffee cookies I made yesterday. Yum!

The principal of the preschool that I am trying to get a job at called me a little while ago. She said that although they had originally announced that they were not going to have private Kindergarten this coming year, she is going to ask the parents if anyone is still interested, now that they might have a teacher. If there is enough interest, I would be able to teach the K class. But I'm thinking it is too close to the new school year (Starts on Sept. 5) so I highly doubt there would be much interest. So I can teach pre-K and then next year teach the Kindergarten class.

She said my background check has not come back yet but she wanted to make sure I knew she was very interested. When the background check comes back she'll call me to set up an interview.

YUM!! Please bring some of those to our WDW meet! I am craving some and have no desire to turn on my oven in this heat to make them.
