Good morning, chatters! I had a busy but productive weekend, we cleaned all the junk out of my 10 year old's room in preparation to paint it this upcoming weekend. We are painting it bubble gum pink with teal green, hot pink and lavender vertical stripes. (she picked the colors). This will match her hot pink comforter and teal green sheets with hot pink flowers, lavender flowers, blue and brown butterflies, etc... Also we had a hay ride and bonfire, plus choir practice last night, and dinner and cards at my sister's house Friday night. In the middle, on Saturday my computer at home died. Apparently Meagan was on Webkinz and all the sudden the cursor wouldn't move, then went to blue screen, then the whole thing shut down and wouldn't boot up. The dumb thing is only 1-1/2 years old...so now it is looking like a new computer is in my future again.

Sorry about that - I just went through that with my laptop. I went online and extended the warranty and then sent it in. Just got it back!

Hi, Caroline. I am sure dh will now try to talk me into a laptop, thus far I have resisted based on cost but we want to set up an old desktop for the kids upstairs and then have ours downstairs, I just know he is gonna go back to pushing for laptop...

Honestly Kristi - they aren't as expensive as they used to be. Dells are getting to be pretty reasonable. You can look at refurbished too, but I would spend and get the longer warranty. It is nice to not be tied to a desk to be on the computer. You can move around and actually be with your family and DIS too....

That is a good point, Caroline, and dh likes to comment how on trips I could take the laptop along... I guess we'll see what the prices look like, and try to limp by on the old one if he can get it up and running until after Christmas, gotta get that done first...

Oh Christmas - don't remind me. It's going to be lean Christmas at our house this year. I had to cancel Kate and my January Disney trip. I really want to take her mid-February, but I don't want to take her out of school. I just hate going when the crowds are there - spoiled, I know!

I know what you mean. I expect Christmas will be fairly lean for us this year too, but we are trying to pay off bills as fast as possible in the hopes of another Dec trip next year. But Meag will be in 6th grade then, so I may need to figure out whether I can realistically pull her out or not, and probably not for a full week like we did last year, but maybe we just do 4 or 5 days over a weekend, keeping the school days reduced to 2 or 3... it gets so complicated..
