The Mad Chatters thread Part 16

Hey! I got off work early. Looks like I missed everyone again! Story of my life.

Hey everyone, back from CO and well it was not good at all....and this has nothing to do with my nephew, Ryan...Diana, my Chris' DGF was thrown from a horse. This has to be the most horrible thing I have ever seen. She was knocked unconscious and the horse stepped on her hand crushing it. She was in the hospital in CO and we are now home and she is at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston)(the BEST hospital probably in the whole country) scheduled for surgery tomorrow. She will need plates and screws in her hand and arm. Her hand will not be normal for up to one year.

My entire family saw the accident EXCEPT my two sons, who were on another part of the horse farm tending to Ryan's Akita. And can I tell you, I am so glad Chris did not see this, as all I have done is re-live it over and over again. To see two horses running and then collide and Diana get thrown will be with me for a long time. To even see this horse go slamming to the ground was horrible. (Two horses were running and racing and Diana was an innocent bystander as she sat on her horse).

There is so much more to this but I just cannot get into it all now but it was not a happy ending to our vacation at all.

Ryan looks wonderful, he was quite distant to all of us when we first arrived but as the week progressed we could see "our" Ryan shining through. He has appts with Specialists on a pretty regular basis and seems to be making some progress with all of them. My bro and SIL are dealing with this as well as can be expected.

We did do allot of fun things from Garden of the Gods to Territory Days in "Ole Colorado City" as well as Manitou Springs and Turkey Creek. The weather was fabulous and we are all tanned. We stayed in the Hilton next to the Air Force Academy and the THUNDERBIRDS practiced daily (in prep for Wed's graduation) and to watch the talent with those jets was amazing.

So how are all the Chatters doing? Did everyone have a good Memorial Day?

Yay! Kar's back! :cheer2: :cheer2:

I'm sorry to hear about Diana, that's awful! I will keep her in my prayers. You just keep getting slammed lately. :(

For selfish reasons, I'm glad you're home and able to chat again. I missed you lady!

Kar's home! I'm glad you're back, lady!

So sorry to hear about your future DIL...things are not going well for your family lately, are they? :grouphug: I hope things start looking up for you very soon.

Howdy, Steph-a-doodle-doo! How YOU doin'?

Hey Bon! Sorry I missed you. I was yapping with my kids and trying to figure out Quicken. Little do they know that they have a financially challenged treasurer. I suck at this. I am more of a swipe a debit card and go kinda gal. I don't even log receipts. DH just tells me when we're getting low, and I watch what I spend until payday. Kind of. :teeth:

Oh well, I hope I catch everyone tonight! It is freaky quiet around here.

Yikes, Kar! I'm so sorry to hear about Diana, but I'm so happy to hear that Ryan is improving!

Glad you're back, Karackers!!!

I have some good and bad news this afternoon.

The good news is that I will be teaching Pre-K this coming school year. The horrible news is that I will have to cancel our family vacation in November. :sad1: I am hoping we can get back to the World another time this year or early next year.

However, my Aug meet and Feb meet are not affected at all! And that is the important stuff!! :thumbsup2

Must I remind you of all of the posts that were lost in the great offensive debacle of 06 & 07. I would have been up to about 4,000 now. Of course if this were MSN I would be up to LBelle numbers by now.

Good morning chatters!:surfweb:
