ok, I'm back. I thought your post on the cosleeping was right on Mary!

One of our very best friends and family has moved to Manassas, as the Worship Minister at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Centerville Rd. Do you know where that is? Well we (my family and about 4 other families from our church) want to come up and surprise them next weekend. We have 1/2 day of school on Thurs., no school on Fri or Mon. so all the kids have a very long weekend. We all miss them so much, since they left our church, its just not the same without them. Anyway, we are looking for a nice hotel to stay at that is near by. We don't want to ask them, as that would give away our surprise, we want to just show up at Worship Service on Sunday. Can you help me?

Thanks Elizabeth! I believe that it can be good to keep young infants close by, but once they can sleep thru the night, they need to develop self soothing methods and good sleep habits. That will teach them how to sleep anywhere. I didn't want my kids needing me as their snuggle bunny to go to sleep. I wanted my girls to be independent strong self reliant children.

Kar, I gotta tell ya, I believe in helping to raise your children to be independent. Its not good to smother your kids. If you do that, they never learn how to do things for themselves. One of my friends actually had to teach her son in Kindergarden how to wipe himself because she had always done it for him. Boy did she learn a valuable lesson here. She should have taught him how to do that when they were potty training, then they would not have had to go thru the embarassing issue of this in school.

The way it came about was, the little boy had to go potty in school, he asked the teacher which one was coming to the bathroom with him, she asked why, he said to wipe me. The teacher wrote home a note to her. She never thought about the boy having to go to the bathroom in school. How embarassing for her and the teacher and the boy.

Things are ok around here. I fianlly do/ pu the disposable cameras from our dec trip..the ones that replaced our brand new digital one that the CM broke--ya know they are so comparable in quality... Got some neat pics I forgot about...

That was a cute movie. Much better than I thought it would be. We just finished watching Tsotsi. I didn't realize it had subtitles, or I may have chosen a different one. How you doing Mary?

I've not heard of that movie. I am doing better. I have had a sinus infection for over 2 weeks, finally changed antibiotic and it seems to be working. Then DH came down with walking pnuemonia, and then my heater broke the day we had 12 degree temps outside. Its been a tough week here. But things are looking up.
