If you are familiar with Ohio...I actually lived in SYLVANIA and NORTH ROYALTON!!! Loved both towns. MISS them so much.

HOW IS EVERYONE TONIGHT? I was out Xmas shopping with some of my girl friends and then we did dinner. FUN TIMES.

Hi guys...I have had a not so great day here...as always, it could have been worse...but poor Aladdin...he is NOT a happy camper. He will not be able to participate in the National Finals that his soccer team qualified for in a few weeks :( He is heart broken. Instead my darling little man will be in a cast for the next 5 to 6 weeks...no soccer to him is a horrible form of torture and that long for a ten year old seems like forever...I keep telling him that it's way better to take care of a problem now then hurt yourself in the long term...but tell that to a kid who was so excited...poor little guy. He has (at best) massive tearing of his cartalage in his heal and of the growth plates (which requires the cast). At worst it might require surgery and he is going in for an MRI next week to see about that. POOR BABY!! :sad2: This is NOT his day.

Before Aladdin found this out from the orthopedic surgeon we spent the morning at the allergist...he has to be off of his antihistimines even longer (he has been without them for 3 days now and is miserable and itching to the high heavens) and then he have one of those prick tests on his back to see what he is reacting so horribly too...that is on Monday.

So as of right now, the poor little guy is just so sad. I don't think I have ever seen him so down  :( :worried: :sad1: So in a nutshell he is itching and disappointed and sad and worried (about the prick test which won't be a big deal once it is done but seems huge when you are a kid and thinking of someone coming at you with twelve foot long needles and pinchers... :lmao: the look of terror seems to indicate that is what he sees when they say "small prick").

Sorry for just jumping in with such a "poor me" post...but ya'll are good listeners and I needed to tell somebody. :listen:

Jay :grouphug: . Poor Aladdin. I can see how he is heartbroken and sad. Kids don't yet have the ability to put things into perspective which makes it worse. I'm sure you'll find some way to cheer his little heart. Give him a hug from me.....and here's one for you, too. :grouphug:

jay!

I'm so sorry about your son!! Poor kid!! I'm sure he is scared!

I have family in Brunswick, Columbia Station, Ravenna, and Aurora...I think that's it! :rotfl:

Ahhhh...JAY... :grouphug: for ALADDIN and :grouphug: for all the JAYS!!

What are you going to do to get him to smile again...I know a trip back to the WORLD? :wizard:

Jay....let Aladdin know that my 3 year old DS had the prick test, too. He did great with it besides the initial trepidation of not knowing what was going on. :thumbsup2

I think I may get him a ton of the Pirates of the Caribbean Lego sets that he has been asking for...Santa may have to pony up and let mom and dad bring these early this year....he needs something he can do while sitting and it should NOT be thinking about the fact that he is sitting...

And yes, I think I will involve him in the planning of the upcoming year's trip. And part of it at least will surely be to WDW. So that will help some! Don't you love Disney? Even when you are not there...it can help to cheer someone up! :)

He is normally so "up"...it's so hard to see him down. But...this too shall pass and it's not like he won't have other teams and other tournaments but he was so proud and so excited. Maybe this will be a good character building thing! ;)

SO...how is everyone else tonight??? I didn't mean to hijack. :3dglasses

Naa...it was mostly little things for stockings. :teeth:

I love shopping for stocking stuffers. DS usually has stuff overflowing his stocking because I keep picking up little things here and there.

THANKS!!!!!! That may really help! It's more what he thinks is going to happen then what will happen. He had the test when he was 2 but he does not remember it...so it's like the first time all over again and it didn't really bug him then...but the thought of it has him creeped out...that and everything is a major bummer today after hearing about the cast. But he will be fine. What doesn't kill ya makes you stronger! ;) :thumbsup2
