Sorry computer problems...I'm back. :)

I clean houses for a living and I am stretched to the limit this month and my friend knows this. Plus we have family coming to visit and a short trip to the beach planned all this month. Well she has called me twice and emailed me in 24 hours wanting me to clean the offices they clean while they are gone during the time all that other stuff is going on......

Hi Nic

I have a hard time saying "no" to people. I read a book about being more assertive and it said to say, "Unfortunately.....and then say whatever you can't do. There were a couple other key things in there, too, but I can't remember the specifics.

Hey Trisha :wave2:

Yes Paige :listen:
Okay, see, you were SUPPOSED to say that you were stretched thin right now and wouldn't have time to do justice to what I needed. :rotfl:

Wellll, are you going to do it...? Maybe if you explain to her HOW busy you are...and she explains HOW important it is to get this done....could there be MORE in the line of $$$$ as a special favor to FIT HER IN...

Hi Trisha.........listen, are you mad at me?

Hi Paige

Heck, no, I'm not mad at you!!! :grouphug: Did I say something that would make you think I was mad?

No Paige---I just don't answer  . I am trying to think of how to get out of it without being rude. She knows how busy I am and how stressed I am about the in-law trip and still she wants me to do there work so they can go on vacation.

Trisha- I always cave in....I need to learn to stand up for myself.

Nah, just checking. I seem to be coming on as you're going off a lot. Makes me paranoid. I'm a freak.

Don't take this wrong Joker, but friends shouldn't ask more than you can give..........especially if they know it might be too much. :grouphug:

I have been busier than usual so I am on and off a lot lately. I am a paranoid freak A LOT! I probably would have thought the same thing. :rotfl:

Thats the best part . Her DH said they give us all the money they charge for it....and then later he let it slip how much he gets for it and it wasn't what he paid us. Dumb butt.

Hey, girls.

I just read the first challenge. Wowie wow wow!! That's going to be a fun one! Sounds a little overwhelming at first, but I'm sure once things start getting crossed off the list, it will come together nicely. Reminds me of the Apprentice! :)

Nic....how old are you? I think you may have told me before but I don't remember. Anyway, I have found that the older I get the less I care about saying no. I used to be a MAJOR doormat and would do just about anything. I am slowly changing my ways and only doing what I feel comfortable doing. It does take some time, and I completely empathize with your situation. :grouphug:

I know....I always get the friends that need but have nothing to give. I don't mind one bit to help people but I hate when they only call when they need help. DH says I am too nice to people. Hard to believe huh ;) :)

How annoying!!!! Is it all fixed now???

Our CO2 detector started chirping at 2:00am the morning I was scheduled to be induced. I made Matt get up and take all of our stuff to my parents' house, and we finally got about 2 hours of sleep there. I should have taken that as a sign and not let them induce me!!!

Look it, NIC...this client should of first and foremost OFFERED double...just to make it seem attractive for YOU despite your schedule.

I have a cleaning lady...Julie, 29yo, I love her and I respect her and I understand how this time of year esp is stressdul for HER as everyone of her clients (me included) need more done than usual...parties, holidays...etc...

I am telling you...if she has not offered...just in your most professional way tell her that if would cost this much as you are completely out straight and to fit her in like this would cost this much...heck if she says NO then it was not that important for HER...

Then again if she JUMPS at your offer...then awesome...makes if feel a tad bit better to do the job because of the end results in YOUR wallet!!! :thumbsup2
