The Mad Chatters thread Part 10

No nothing new. I'm in Oklahoma. I'll be in Kansas Saturday, back to OKC Sat. night, home to Texas Sunday, back to work Monday........and it'll be progress report week, so I'll be grading papers like mad, since I didn't feel much like grading last week.

It's relaxing right now. Saturday night will be nice too. Sunday I HAVE to clean house when I get in the door...........then do homework with Little Son.........then I can DIS when I get him in bed.

School will be fun. We've only got three weeks, and the last one isn't even a full one. We'll be putting holiday twists on our work.........the kids'll be excited, it's a nice time of year to be a teacher.

I hear ya about the cleaning...DH went to a movie tonight and I stayed home and scrubbed the kitchen cupboards By choice I add....

Tomorrow will be our marthon cleaning day...and yes I siad we DH is pretty good about helping...

That's nice. Mine cooks and does laundry, but isn't much on cleaning.

Back again. Hmmm, not sleeping regular hours is really not all it's cracked up to be, you know????

I've been sick all month... finally feeling a little better.
DH business just went under... well it's been headed there the
last few months but the ** just hit the fan this month.
Now there are people calling and I don't know what to tell them
DH is trying to avoid bankruptcy... may be futile.
Mentally ill mom is acting up. She can be so hateful...
even when she pretends to be nice.
I'm soooooo tired of parenting her.

Tomorrow I'm cooking for the 3 of us... no invites & the only people I could invite (no fam here) are headed out of town.

So that's my sob story... oh woe is me!

Hey thanks my sweet! I just now popped in and here you're quoting my lowest moment!

I'm feeling better tonight... not that anything except my attitude has changed. At Mass our pastor reminded me of all I have to be thankful for and tonight we had a wonderful time with friends. I feel refreshed for battle!

But it is sooooo nice to know I have friends who care!

I am soooo glad to see you. It seems forever since I've chatted with you RB. And I am really glad you feel better about things, and I want you to know you can always PM me when you're feeling down.

ETA although I did see you had some great support from our fellow Chatters!

Thanks I really appreciate the support. It's pretty tough lately. But I'm really trying to focus on what is good and (at least for now) it's helping.

Jay's always telling me to do that............focus on the good. It's hard to do. I tend to either run away or focus on the worst possible scenario.

So what'd you do with your friends?

Did you have a nice Thanksgiving??? I guess you did skip Kansas this year didn't you? Is everything okay with Mom?? Or do you want to even think about it.

I had a nice one. We're at the In-laws. Mom's called 8 times tonight, God love her! She's all freaked out about the party.

I'm going, she'd be a basket case if I didn't, I think. We still have ongoing issues over the drinks............and I finally got the presents so she can calm down about that. But now she's flipping about what to get my boys for Christmas, and dh and me.........and I"ve told her a thousand times not to get us grown-ups anything.

She's walking with a walker a bit, but to go shopping or anything long, she uses her wheelchair.

So what'd you do with your friends?

Well -- it was an absolutely beautiful evening... in the low 60's even after dark. Thanksgiving night in Kansas City is a VERY big deal. Our friend from St.Louis was in town for the festivities and there's a bunch of old friends that always get together when he's here, so it was great fun.

One of the most beautiful areas of town is copied after old Spanish architecture, lots of arches and towers and at the holidays they run over 6 miles of Christmas lights in the 10 block area. On Thanksgiving night we gather there, sing Christmas carols and do a countdown to turn the lights on... then they have about 15 minutes of fireworks, then we sing some more (just us and about 200,000 of our closest friends! After that we walked around the area enjoying the lights and then went to a coffee shop and enjoyed some Pumpkin spice Latte's.

Oh, RB, that sounds just wonderful.

This town is too small for any of that. We can do things like that in DFW, but we don't really have any friends to enjoy it with.

No wonder that brightened your mood.
