The Luck O' The IWISH! St. Patrick's Day Virtual 5K & 10K

Yipee! Improvement for me! Virtual Valentine's 38:56, Luck o' the IWISH 34:04! It helps that my run/walk ratio is up to 8:2 but the swimming must be helping as well, because mile 2 was a 10:30 including the walk break and I can't even remember the last time I ran a 10:30! Excited and motivated for more, when is the next one?

Did my 5k, second half straight into a 15 mph cold wind. brrrr... Not a very good time, mostly walking, 42:09.

I did my 5K today! It was windy and a light drizzle fell during most of the run. My time was 37 minutes. I'd like to be closer to 30 minutes, but I'm really happy that I participated! Thanks!

It has been pouring rain (and even some hail) here all weekend long. You ladies who braved this weather, my hat goes off to you.:worship: I opted to use my TM and I DID my 5K in 43:02. Not the best time, but I'm still coming down from the Princess Half (very hard to get back to the norm).
I have to thank you, Liz, for setting this up. It was nice to have this to look forward to and keep me moving along.
Have a great week everyone.:shamrock:

You're welcome, Gretchen. :) And thanks to Tracy for starting these virtual races last Thanksgiving!! :thumbsup2

I got my 5k in as part of a 5-mile run to celebrate the Ides of March, St. Patrick's Day, and Pi Day. From green togas to pocket protectors, we had people in costumes to cover all the holidays.

Wow, I am absolutely amazed and so impressed by all these race reports- especially those of you who have squished it in to a busy schedule. I love being part of WISH :thumbsup2

Did my 5k at the gym this morning- finished in 27:14 which is pretty good for a treadmill run. Think it helped that it was an angry run, perhaps I need someone to yell at me along race courses in the future :lmao:

Hello virtual racers! My planned 10km turned into an 8km as I have a race pace run scheduled Wednesday as part of my half training. But it was a lovely, sunny day to be out.

Congrats everybody and thanks to Liz for the great idea.

"Top O the ...Evening" to you. I did my virtual 5k this afternoon on the track at Bally's, I managed to do it in 31:00.
What's next, virtual bunny hop for Easter? I'll run with my ears on.

Wow, can't believe I actually did it!

My first 5k on the treadmill came out to be 42:24.
Pretty good for my first time around, I ran about 5mph and only walked about 10 minutes of the whole time. :goodvibes

Way to go! That's sounds how mine will turn out on Wednesday. 7 weeks ago I never would have believed I could run 3+ miles. I had trouble running for more than a minute or two.

Completed my 10K in the freezing cold while on a trip out to Oklahoma today, the weather when I left said it was supposed to be nice and warm for my stay here. Somehow that did not happen so I packed no sweat pants, my legs were numb by the end of the run. Finish time was 1:02. Not my fastest time by far, but not bad for the conditions.

:banana:I did it!!
Did I live to tell the tale? Only just!:rotfl:
Would I do it again? Absolutely-just not today:rotfl2:

Think I'm the turtle though-45mins 45seconds!
Ach well sure it leaves plenty of room for improvement:thumbsup2
This has been great craic-thanks Liz for organising it and Carissa for telling me about it.
Ooh and its St Paddys Day tomorrow- no school, no work, just good old family fun (think picnic in freezing conditions- hey thats what flasks of hot soup are for!):dance3:

Oh and an extra cold guinessfor Carissa:woohoo:

ALrighty, did my IWISH 5K today. An nice a easy 43:11. Still haveing peroneal Tendonitis in the foot, so took it easy today.

Thanks for setting this up.

-Racey Tracy

Did my 6.25 miles last night (I prefer to make it a nice round 1/4 mile LOL)

Tracy, about halfway thru my miles last night I kept thinking I need to post and ask you to 'pass the ice' LOL My shins were not happy. Apparently they prefer that I run more than once or twice a week. Weird huh? :rolleyes1

Oh and I did wear a green one more mile shirt :thumbsup2 My time sucked big time, so I did the time but I'm trying to forget my time as it probably is the worst time I've had in months. It was slower than my Virtual Thanksgiving 10K :scared1: But I was tired at the start but gosh darn it I was going to do it since it wasn't raining :thumbsup2

But still... Tracy can you pass some ice? :upsidedow

I did it!! I did a 10K!!!! I am so excited right now. My time was 78:13. My legs feel like jello, but I don't even care!
