I'm not sure why people settled here. I wonder that a lot. We are close to nothing. The weather is all kinds of crazy. Seriously, if my husband would have stopped here 125 years ago I would have said, "You're nuts. I'm going back to Momma. Let me know how it works out for you."

We moved here because of DH's job. Sometimes, I wonder WTH we were thinkin'. I went to a meeting last night and it was -15. When did it become acceptable to live in that?!

Where in Nebraska are you?

Hi Losers and New Losers. I'm having a crappy Loser day.:sad2: This whole tax rebate thing is going to end up with DH and I getting a divorce(just kidding I hope). I assumed since it is money we weren't counting on having it was a perfect excuse to go back to WDW this year. Well...I got an earful this morning for assuming anything of the sort and was told, rather emphatically, that he didn't see us going back for about 5 years.:headache: He thinks a vacation of camping at a state park nearby will be good enough to make me happy. Well, sorry sweetie but I was a wildland firefighter for almost 15 years and have slept on the ground way too many times to recall in my lifetime and going camping is fun but is not going to replace a "real" vacation in my book. Things are going to be awfully uncomfortable around here the next day or so.
And to think I started out this morning with grand plans of cleaning and cooking all day.:rotfl2: You can imagine how that went.

Boy this sounds familiar

This was our conversation just last night....
Him: Did you hear the tax refund went through
Me: Yes, it should be around $1800
Him: We can add that to the car fund (we are hoping to pay cash for our next vehicle)
Me: OR we could add it to the WDW fund :rolleyes1
Him: We are NOT going THIS year.

He has informed me that I have a better chance of going next year for our 10 year anniversary :confused3 I think 9 years is long enough for a celebration :teacher:

Taco Bell. That is DD7 favorite place. If we let her pick, that is what she chooses. She thinks their tacos are better than mine.:snooty:
I was leaning more towards the border, was more in a taco mood this week. Plus I don't have to get out of my car.

I would tell my hubby in no uncertain terms that I DO NOT COOK ON VACATION!! Let alone have to build a friggin fire before I can roast a hot dog!!

Set up tents? Over my dead body.

A vacation is NOT somewhere that I have to use dirt as a pillow. I have enough dirt under the couch. I'd rather stay home.

With $1800 I could stay at POFQ with my sis for a week with 7 day parkhoppers and DDP. Well...add a couple hundred more for the DDP...but it's money well spent IMO.

9 years is plenty long for an early celebration. My parents are having a bit of a late one this year. Their 35th wedding anniversary is this June but they are going to WDW with my sis and I in Sept.

Ya know you can sorta combine camping and Disney. Stay at Fort Wilderness in the cabins or rent and RV. He can camp and you can have fun in the parks and sleep on a real mattress.

I was talking about that with DH last night too.
I said if we are getting the amount we think we are getting, it's very tempting to plan another trip to WDW.
DH - yeah but we are gonna pay something off or use towards when we buy a house, stuff we might need to do.
:guilty: I know he's right (sssshhhhh don't tell him I said that) but I want to go back to WDW :guilty:

Columbus.

Where in New Mexico are you?

Albuquerque, but I was born in Omaha. My dad is retired USAF so we have moved around a bit. Sometimes I go looking for an excuse to move back to the Midwest but I want to finish my degree first. Course I also look for excuses to move back to Orlando. Hmmm...tough call.

Yeah, I think I'd pick Orlando every time. But I'm a WDW junkie.

I feel the same way about living out here, especially in August with all the humidity :crazy2:
Funny thing is, is that we have decided to stay out here once DH retires. Guess I have to get used to it.

I like the Midwest for raising kids. It is very 'Leave it to Beaver' here. I am from Phoenix.

I have NEVER been to Orlando. :rolleyes1 I knew I joined the losers for a reason.

We are leaning towards Colorado once DH retires. As long as he scoops the snow, it's fine by me.

Back in the summer of 89 my sister and I were living with our grandmother in a small town about an hour outside of Omaha because we were in the process of moving from overseas to Maryland. My grandma would let myself and my sister walk to the community pool all by ourselves. We could go to the park by ourselves. She let us do alot of things by ourselves. And at this point I was 8 and my sister 9. Where I live now...I wouldn't dream of letting kids go anywhere by themselves.

And you need to get yourself to Orlando. Your kids need to experience the World. Which is why I am thinking about a 2009 Loser Dis meet. Oh yeah
