O.K. we are here from 16 Dec to 25 Jan and will give you a quick summary by day and update this first post in the future.

16 Dec arrived, checked in at noon and got set up and off to get our tickets. Got our vouchers at the SOG ... $440 each for the normal AP and then over to EPCOT where we got our real passports and got the DDE for $65 there. This is a recent change that now at least EPCOT and other Guest Services at the Parks and probably DTD can issue the actual DDE ... you no longer have to go thru DDE by phone and get a temp DDE card it's one stop now and done. Also, we got ours on a Sun so the old only calling DDE M-F is a thing of the past. For Dinner we ate at Trails End and the Butternut Squash and Crab Soub was out of this world, the rest was good but nothing to write home about and the dessert selection was sorely lacking and only having cornbread as a bread selection was somewhat disappointing.

17 Dec off to MK and boy was it cold and windy in the low 40's and the lake at the marina was brutal. We got to MK at 9AM and it was a ghost town, walk ons every where. We only did like 4 rides and then headed off to see the Xmas decorations at the CR and FL. Spent the afternoon decorating the site.

Pics of our site - 1635:

Those mickey posts were so cute we got another 5 to put up :scared1: That's almost $100 in those alone :rotfl:

18 Dec was another MK day and weather was much better and again the rides were empty. Planned on doing 5 or 6, but only got around to 4 since the DW sprained her ankle ... this is an ongoing condition and the doc said the last time she has spaghetti for ligaments. Rest of the day she was laid up with ice packs. Stackster and I think it was TiggerinBama stopped by and chatted for a while.

19 Dec wanted to continue to let the DW ankle heal so hit we 3 Disney outlets, the WW where DW got an ankle brace and me got some trailer stuff at Camping World. Her angle is not that bad except when you look at it since it is colorful. Not much pain and probably because there is nothing left to actually injure ... it's all be stretched and such so many times it's just mush now. Rested in the afternoon since we had 8PM ressies for the "Spirit of Aloha". This is only the second time we have gone the last being 1996 and it seems it's not as good as it was then, but that could just be wishful thinking. The first 1 1/2 hours was sort of corny, but the actual dancer's were great for the last 30 min and the Somoan fire dancer was fantastic.

Tomorrow it's off to MGM mainly to keep the walking down and DW is on "the Hunt" for an Xmas turtle neck blouse she saw at the clothiers in the MK, but didn't have her size.:woohoo:

20 Dec - since it was a late night didn't get to MGM till almost 10 and the crowds were already there so went on RR said wait was 30 min, but was closer to 50 :scared1:, then went on HT and it said wait was 30 min, but was only like 15. It was almost noon by then so we took the boat to Swan/Dolphin and looked at their Xmas decorations. The Swan was sad, but the Dolphin was great. Also, took in the FW from the beach and below is one pic for those asking if they can be seen. I'm still learning to take nite pics and you can just see the tip of the castle to the left of the FW and is just to the right of the last light on the dock at the marina.

15512820_Dec_2007_MK_FW_fm_FW_CIMG0032_small.jpg

BTW it took 40 min from the Dolphin to our site at the 1600 loops and that was a bus from Dolphin to MK, boat to FW and bus to 1600 loop. We waited no more than 2 min for any bus/boat.

21 Dec we hit the MK again since it has less walking and looked again for DW blouse and low and behold they had one the right size so that is now done. Next we did Peter Pan and then Many Adventures of Pooh, both of which were walk-ons. As we were exiting Many Adventures of Pooh a CM tells us it's our lucking day and points to a CM several feet away and when we got to her she handed each of us one of the following.

The Year of a Million Dreams pin lanyard with two Pins :thumbsup2

Were hoping for a night in the Castle, but not yet :lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2:
We then went and saw the Carousel of Progress, Tomorrowland Transit Authority aka People Mover and finished up with new Show Monsters, Inc Laugh Floor.

22 Dec since DW foot was feeling better and we needed to try and finish up getting a couple of CDs of Off Kilter for our sons we went to EPCOT and got them in Canada and since we were already there did Spaceship Earth. Did some food shopping and went to MGM around 2 and saw the parade followed by a late lunch at the SciFi. DW and I split the 7 bean chili and artichoke dip along with the Reuben Sandwich and brought back 1/2 of the Sandwich and some fries for a late nite snack.

23 Dec after getting our son settled in we hit MGM mainly to see the Harlem Gospel Choir 5 PM performance and did the Great Movie Ride and squeezed in a second time for us of Tower of Terror.

So now in 6 days 18 rides/shows, ~13 non Disney Park stores, 5 resorts,4 sore feet, 3 lunches/dinners out, 1 Fireworks, 1 parade, 1 Airport RT, and one sprained ankle :rotfl: Hmmm this sound like it could be a new song :lmao: :cool1:

Larry

*****NOTE***** Since I can only get 25 images in one post I'm going to have to split up this report into sections and the next section is in this thread in my post on 26 Dec at 7:18AM

...the Butternut Squash and Crab Soub was out of this world, the rest was good but nothing to write home about...Larry

Thanks for the Report!:hippie:I wonder if the have that soup all the time. Did you have reservations for Trails End?

Not sure about the soup and we did not have ressies and were seated within 15 min.

20 Dec Update is in the first post in this thread and includes a pic of the MK Fireworks from the beach at FW. IIRC 3 days, 9 rides/shows, 5 resorts, 2 dinners out and 1 Fireworks ... gotta slow down since we will redo all this probably two more times with our sons :cool1: and then the 10 day all alone mop up begins :lmao: :rotfl2:

Larry

So, is the music to the fireworks pumped into the fort?

No, but the DW could just barely hear some of the music from the beach.

Larry

So, is the music to the fireworks pumped into the fort?

If you go to the path behind the 300 loop (where the hayride goes) the music is pumped in there & the viewing is MUCH better! Go to site 328 & hang a right. No golf carts are allowed back there, so you have to hoof it for about 1/10 mile. Bring your folding chairs, Kungaloosh, and enjoy!!

Larry- I can't stand it anymore!!! What in the H-Blazes is IIRC???

Deb ♥

P.S. - How's the fruit fishing at your site?? :rotfl2:

If I Remeber/Recall Correctly

I scored one grapefruit to test and it seemed a little green and not that good. This time there doesn't seem to be the harvest that was to be had in 2005. I even now have a 24' expanding al. pole like for pool cleaning, etc. with a pulley on the end to run the rope thru and now can reach over 25' up into the trees. To hook the fruit you loop the rope around the stem on the fruit and pull while dropping the pole and trying to catch the fruit on the fly:lmao: :cool1: :rotfl2: ... it is indeed a sight to behold when you see this old white haired guy stumping under a tree, head up and hands out looking like he is having a fit. I only catch about 1/2 of what I get actually on the fly. :woohoo: :rotfl:

I may have to wait till after the 1st when it's less crowded and I have better access to some of the "Prime Trees". I don't like to get close to someone's site that is actually occupied.

Larry

Larry

Don't forget your pic at Colson's Crossing.:rolleyes1

Boy not sure if I can fit that into my crowded schedule :rotfl2: but I'll try :lmao: It was an interesting day today with a surprise visit from the official WDW fairy team :woohoo: and will up date with several days stuff in a couple of days. Our youngest (29:eek: ) arrives at 7AM on the 23rd and it will be busy getting him and his AP voucher fm SOG.

Larry

Hi Larry! I hate we didn't meet! We were so close too!!! We were in 1500. I know I saw your site, but the only time I walked around the 1600 loop it was at night. You never can do it all!

For those interest have updated my first post to cover 21, 22, 23 Dec with pic in 21 Dec summary of what the WDW fairy bestowed on us.

Thanks Larry.....I enjoyed your report and pictures :thumbsup2

Larry, Thanks for posting. glad you are having a good time. keep coming with the updates.

Well so much for my plans to keep updating my first post here so the entire trip report is in one post. The software image police told me I can only have 25 images and I'm now up to 27. This is update one to my original post and I will update that first post to indicate where the next update is.

24 Dec Bright and early started the 15 bean soup in the crockpot with the Ham Bone with lots of meat that I brought from home ... This is one of our youngest son's favorites so each time he visits it's sort of a must do. Son wanted to go to EPCOT so off we went didn't get there till after 9AM so hit Journey into Imagination, followed by France, and China. By that time the wait times were getting long so we decided to bag it, go back have lunch and then come back and hit a couple of rides before the must watch Chargers/Broncos game that was to start at 8PM on ESPN. Number 2 Son is a hugh Chargers fan since he was born in San Diego. While I like the Chargers, having living now for over 25 years just outside of D.C. you can guess who we now follow. Anyway did American Adventure, then DW and son waited in line for Spaceship Earth while I blazed the trail back to the trailer to get the crusty hot french loaf bread going and get set up to eat and watch the game. I also had feed the two four legged children. Anywho the soup was outstanding and the Chargers won so all was good.:thumbsup2

25 Dec Day started out for me when I realized we were out of milk :scared1: which is the mainstay of Son #2 so I checked and the Meadows doesn't open till 8AM .... jeesh for campers that half a day wasted. :confused3 So it was off to Goodings for a quick restock run which also included OJ/Pound Cake/Grn and Red Peppers for a future polish kabob dinner latter in the week. Following blueberry/pecan waffles (another favorite of Son #2 and now I realize why I was so heavy getting here with carrying such light weight items as waffle irons, crockpots, etc. with us). :lmao: After breakfast it was off to DTD for shopping and late lunch and Fulton's, followed by a couple of hours back at FW. Left FW around 6:20 and while MK was crowded it wasn't IMO overly so. Grabbed Tiki Room which was half empty followed by Spectromagic and the Fireworks. Below are a couple of pics of some notable stuff. Sorry for the quality since I'm still learning and taking pics at night is a hit or miss with me at best.

We watched Spectromagic from FL and it was a full moon that was just rising and while the pic doesn't show it, it was really cool. It would have made an absolutely awesome pic if you could go to a location with the moon directly over the castle and catch it with a good photographer.

An here's Tink

15512825_Dec_2007_MK_Fireworks_Tinkerbell.jpg

This was the first time either my son or I can ever remember the smoke blowing directly over Main Street and it made for some funky looking Fireworks at times when the smoke obscured some of the Fireworks.

15512825_Dec_2007_MK_Fireworks_Funky_Smoke.jpg

Back in 2005 was the first time we noticed that Disney was apparantely trying to do some very creative Fireworks such as squares/circles etc. and it seems they are getting close to prefecting this and it is really, really neat. The following pic doesn't fully capture it, but around the middle portion of the Fireworks they did a couple of really neat "Smilie Faces" that looked really good. The head was in yellow, the smile red and the eyes green. This display took me off guard and you have to imagine those lines being dots since I did not have the camera that steady. I will continue to try and get better pics of these unique displays when I can.

Finished off the day by devouring a 70 count box of pizza rolls :lmao: Gosh a 29 year old can put away the grub :rotfl: :lmao: . Now I have some freezer room for some of the previous leftovers such as the bean soup and bundt cake that have been fighting for frig space and their ultimate survival :lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao: For those of you not there yet this is reason alone for making sure they never move back in unless you want to go broke. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: . However, the upside is there are a lot less leftover's at the main meals :thumbsup2 :lmao:

26 Dec Got to MK around 9:30 and got Fast Pass for Big Thunder. Then did Jungle Cruise (15 min wait), Pirates (20 min wait), Country Bear (10 min wait), Haunted Mansion (15 min wait), and Big Thunder (5min with FP) and just caught the Xmas Parade from Liberty Square. Done by 1PM and back at the trailer by 1:30. This AM was the first time we caught a green flag launch and it was direct to MK. As we were leaving a green flag boat (the large ones) was just getting ready to pull in. Ah finally a quiet evening since Son #2 is off to P.I. and either the Comedy Club or Adventurers Club.

27 Dec Did EPCOT in the AM and MK in the evening. At EPCOT did Living with the Land and Circle of Life. When we got there at around 9:30 AM the FP for Soarin was already at 3:45 I'LL PASS. Next got breakfast at the pastry shop in France and staked out a seat for Off-Kilter in Canada for there 1PM show. Just as good as always and boy can that bagpipe player blow. Since in 2005/06 DW and I missed some of the Xmas Storytellers ... actually most and only got England, Canada, Itlay, and Japan. For those that are not familiar with this, it's where every country except Morrocco has a Storyteller dressed up in traditional attire that tells the history and traditions for the Xmas season celebrated in their country. Today got to see France, China, Mexico, and Norway. Norway was the best we have seen so far including the ones we have seen previously. I also recorded their talk and if I can back fill those we did in 05/06 I plan to make a CD with all these recordings on them. In addition we also picked up Maelstorm. Wanted to do Mexico, but it actually had a line and like a 40 min wait. Came back aroiund 4 to the trailer, ate and left at 8 for the MK. Got there just in time for the 9PM fireworks and watched them from the area just before you get to the noodle station since I wanted to get a better pic of Tink doing here thing. I also was able to get a little better pic of the fireworks smilie, but still didn't hold the camera steady enough and the points of light all have the shape of a "J". It now seems there are two smilies, one right side up and one several seconds later that is upside down. It was a great place if you don't mind not seeing the castle w/o some trees in the way. Next did Monster, Inc Laugh Place (repeat), Stitch and Buzz Lightyear.

28 Dec Got to AK just before 11 and got a fastpass for Expedition Everest for 4:10 to 5:10 so we took in Finding Nemo the Musical, Flights of Wonder, It's tough to be a Bug, and Primeval Whirl, then lunch at Yak and Yeti followed immediately by Expedition Everest .... we were a wild and crazy group doing Everest immediately after a food feast.

FWIW Yak and Yeti did give up a 10% AP discount apparantly just on the food not the drinks even Ice Tea and still doesn't do the DDE, but evidently is on the DDP.

So now we're at 9 days and 39 rides/shows, 7 repeat rides/shows, ~13 different non Disney Park stores, 5 resorts,4 sore feet, 4 lunches/dinners out, 2 Fireworks, 1 repeat fireworks, 3 parades, 1 Airport RT, and one sprained ankle

29Dec This was a short AK day with the Safari, two of the trails, Expedition Everest for a second time, and Dinosaur

So after 10 days we're at 43 rides/shows, 8 repeat rides/shows, ~13 different non Disney Park stores, 5 resorts,4 sore feet, 4 lunches/dinners out, 2 Fireworks, 1 repeat fireworks, 3 parades, 1 Airport RT, and one sprained ankle.

30 Dec Late start at MGM, but did Sounds Dangerous, Mupet Vision 3-D, Lights-Motors-Action stunt show, Backlot Tour, Disney Animation. The took in the 11:50 PM MK Fantasy in the Sky Fireworks.

31 Dec Silly us decided to go to the MK late morning and while we did do Mickey's PhilharMagic (repeat for us)the wait for Splash Mtn was 90 min and the crowds were just too much so we bagged it and only took in the midnight FW at EPCOT. The Finale there even exceeded the one at the MK. I never knew you could shoot off so many FW at once ... didn't thing there was that much air LOL.

1 JanBasically finsihed up the AK by seeing the "Festival of the Lion King" and watching the Parade.

2 Jan We did something in the morning, but now three days later for the life of me I can't recall except that we picked up Son #2 and DW at airport at 4:15 left the airport around 6 and half way back to FW son #2 got a call that their found his DW wallet that was left on the plane so back to the airport to retreive it and luckly everything was in it so all is good. Finally got back to the trailer just before 8 P.M. to cook a late supper and crash for the night.

3 Jan This was family day and was planned by oldest son. Did the EPCOT thing and we joined our sons and DIL around 10 after they had done Spaceship Earth and Mission to Mars. We finished up EPCOT except for turtle talk with Nemo, Imigination (repeat), Universe of Energy and Mexico. We had lunch at Teppan Edo and around 6 PM played golf at Fantasia Gardens. Man was it cold everyone was in winter jackets, gloves and stocking caps. It would have been O.K. if the wind wasn't so bad. Both sons and DIL did the Osborne Dancing lights and wanted to do Fantasmic but missed the last show. We bowed out and went back to are warm and comfy trailer for the evening.

4 Jan This was another EPCOT day and the oldest son and DW slept in so didn't get started until almost noon and did "Turtle Talk" ... one of the most innovative and cuitest shows at WDW. It's amazing what they can do now days with computers and the little ones absolutley go crazy over this show and even our 29 and 34 YO "kids" loved it. Son #1 and wife stayed at EPCOT to do some things along with dinner at "Bistro" while Son #2 went with us to have pizza at Girordano's. We then went to MGM where Son #1 walked to EPCOT to join his brother for Illuminations while we did the Osborne Dancing Lights.

5 Jan Did MK this AM ... Space Mtn, Laugh Floor, People Mover, Mickey's Philharmagic, and Haunted Mansion all repeats for us, but firsts for Son #1 and DW. Went over to AK and ate at RF cafe

6 Jan I can confirm that at least as of this A.M. the bus for MGM now leaves from the Outpost and not the Settlement. Unfortunately all the Maps and even the automated announcements on the buses still say you catch the bus to MGM from the Settlement. Oh and the Trans Map at the Outpost bus stop still says you can catch a bus to TTC from there ... Yea right that went away around 7 years or so ago. Did MGM this AM .... Tower of Terror, got FP for Rockin RR and gave our two extra to Son #1 and DW since we were leaving before the FP was active, Little Mermaid and Great Movie Ride. All except Little Mermaid were repeats for us. Took Son #2 to AP for his flight home.

Now at 15 days we have 55 rides/show, 18 repeat rides/show, 8 lunches/dinners out, 4 Fireworks, 1 repeat fireworks, 4 parades, 1 round of minature golf, and 3 Airport round trips.
