Does anyone know where I can purchase this movie? And is it available in DVD?

Thank you

Lori

The Little Mermaid (as well as other classics like Lady and the Tramp, The Jungle Book, and 101 Dalmations) was part of Disney's limited issue DVD series back in 1999 or 2000. It is now discontinued and out of print. It will likely get a "Platinum" re-release (ala The Lion King) in a year or two. For now, you probably can find it on e-bay or try a local shop that sells used DVD's but it will be expensive. Most major video store chains will likely have a copy to rent.

We recently purchased it on ebay. it was used and cost around $20, but you might can get it a little cheaper.

My mother-in-law bought us a used one from Amazon.com.

I think you just need to check periodically till you find one on either e-bay or Amazon.

I just bought it on ebay brand new from a seller in malaysia. DVD. we have watched it like everyday ever since. My daughter loves ariel and our VHS tape gotten eaten so I have been on the look out ever since. I was lucky to find the VHS in a brandsmart a few years back that had just opened up. good luck with your search

Thank you so much. Our VHS copy that I had for my kids when they were younger had gotten ruined, so I'm searching for a DVD for playing when my granddaughter comes over. Her first movie that she sat through and watched start to finish was Sleeping Beauty, one day I heard her singing from another room and went to find her and she was dancing and singing "Once Upon A Dream"! She was 2 years old.

Thanks again!

Lori

DH got on ebay last night and bought me an unopened Little Mermaid movie, it said new & unsealed. And it had a photo which looked like the original artwork. It should be here next week, YEAH!!!
thank everyone-
Lori

After about a dozen unsuccessful e-bay auctions, I walked into my local video store and it was on a table for sale (NEW!) They only had 2, so I asked how they got it -- they said that they can order movies upon request and that they probably had ordered a couple of extras. I don't know how they do this, but without any further hesitation, I paid full retail price ($20 -ish) -- chalk it up to a mother's desperation!

I bought the VHS copy, so I don't know if it's available on DVD, but it's worth calling your local video stores. (The one I went to was a local chain, so you may want to try a larger video store).
