Off that topic...
At Christmas my son brought up the shoe incident in Iraq with Bush. This election really stirred him, I have never seen him so politically active. He was pretty conservation while he was a student in Boston College, but he really did a complete turn after these 8 Bush years. He was really stricken when it was brought home how disrespected Bush is worldwide. He was actually humiliated. Imagine the laughing stock Bush will be in the years to come, even here in the US?
It is shameful.
I see blanket pardons in the future.
What were the blankets in for?
Nothing worse than a blanket gone bad.

It was probably that time as a ski bum (instructor) that opened his eyes. Aren't you glad you let him do it?

I think there is a fundamental (pardon the pun) lack of understanding of the dynamics of the situation the GOP finds itself in. There seems to be some irrationality along the lines of being able to make the party more inclusive, while retaining all the intolerance that is already there. Uh, sorry... but that won't work.
The good news is that there is a lot more space to expand into, in the realm of tolerance, if intolerance is left behind. The question is whether the party is brave enough to do the right thing.

But in better news...
23 days!!!
Good morning libs!
I'm not Catholic, but I have a St. Francis figurine that hangs from my wall near the bird cages. As for getting along...the cats are afraid of most of the birds. Ever since the Macaw bit one of the cats tails, the rest of the cats have avoided the birds![]()

Though raised Catholic, I don't embrace any organized religion now and can be described as agnostic if not..gasp..a heathen!
That said, Francis was a lover of animals and worked tirelessly for the poor so he is the only ceramic object/icon allowed on my lawn..(except snow white and many of the dwarfs of course...

I was also raised Catholic, but no longer follow that religion. That being said, I am a Christian for social justice and peace. I don't agree with the religious right in oh so many ways. Call me a liberal Christian, I guess.
