Someone really needs to tell our friends on the other side of the political aisle they really need to think through the talking points.
Specifically, when they try to debunk the idea that Bush's Iraq invasion wasn't about oil since the price of a barrel of oil has gone up nearly 500% and has more than tripled for a gallon of gas since then.
For some strange inexplicable reason, they choose to believe that stratosphere high profits for oil companies somehow debunk "Blood for oil".
Au contraire, the Iraq war was all about oil, specifically the flow of oil and it's disruption. The flow of was disrupted by Bush's invasion, resulting in less supply that led to more speculation and unbelieveable profits for "oil men", their allies in Saudi Arabia and their friends in big oil.
Now maybe one of them will kindly explain how none of this is related.
If this wasn't about oil, what the hell was it all about? Since 2003, oil has gone from $25 a barrel to $140 a barrel. This isn't a good thing for big oil, Bush/Cheney's bottom line, etc. ?
Rule #1: Think through the talking points before you spread the manure around.
