Yes, reservations do need to be made months in advance but the food is certianly worth the effort. There are some fantastic restaurants in Palo Alto. There's this wonderful Italian trattoria (can't think of the name of it) on University right before you reach the underpass and head to Stanford.

There's nothing wrong with a In-N-Out burger!!

I think I know the one--it's been there forever, really small. My husband's family is obsessed with food so I've eaten my way around Palo Alto. Have you been to the Peninsula Creamery? I love that place--best coconut cake ever. There's a very traditional Chinese restaurant that my husband's family goes to farther south. I really hate it. They don't even have forks. I'm sorry, but I'm just a white girl and even my husband won't touch half the stuff andt his is a guy who thinks chicken feet can be a tasty snack. Anyway, when we go there, he knows to ensure my best behavior, he has to take me to the Creamery right after.

Can you tell I haven't had lunch yet?

Did anyone see if M.O.'s dress has been leaked yet? I guess it's the first time in a long time people are excited to see what the First Lady will wear because it's been a while since we've had one with some style who isn't matronly.

I'm sure it will be an American designer. Better not be Banana Republic or J. Crew, though.

We're not going to bash you. I've never seen you write anything that comes off as uninformed or rude and you are frequently a voice of reason. On a personal level, you fit the criteria for someone I don't mind having a political discussion with: There's the potential to learn something. Not to change someone's mind, but to learn something about the other side or myself. That's important to me and that's why I read your posts.

Good luck to you in Orlando. I won't be down there then but if I were going to be, I'd come by and let my kids run around your store and create mayhem. Just kidding.

I L O V E the Peninsula Creamery, and you are so right. They have the BEST coconut cake. When I'm at a conference in Palo Alto, I make a point to stop by and grab a slice (or two) to take away on the plane.

Good morning.

I wish we had a Whole Foods near us. I have to drive 45 minutes. Sigh. I love their deli/takeout counter.

I saw the trollprints this morning. Silly little creatures.

Vacation plans are to spend a week or two on Martha's Vineyard. I'm in the process of booking our December Disney trip, and still trying to decide which resort to book.

Stay warm! It was so nice here today -- no jacket needed at all this afternoon. I'm thinking warm thoughts for you.

Still not sure on vacation plans this summer. DH and I want to go to WDW, but the kids want to do a California road trip to see my sister, go to DL, the beach, Knott's, the beach, San Diego Zoo, the beach, Sea World, the beach... Can you tell they love going to the beach?
