I appreciate it. I don't really have anything to add. Ya'll do a great job and honestly I don't know that I like anyone enough running to throw my support or words behind him/her.

What if I throw my hat in. Actually it would be Mickey Golden ears!:wizard:

Btw, have you seen how the numbers on the new Thread 2 are climbing? One more week and we will surpass the Conservative Thread. Again. I guess they are still in shock over there. :rotfl:

My brother just mentioned this to me and it scared the beejesus out of me. Now I have not heard this bandied about at all but what if the repugs have a surprise up their sleeve? What could that be oh Karnack? Well...What if McCain named Jeb Bush as his VP???:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: He's smarter, more personable and much more dangerous than his dimwit bro. Oh, I tell you I got shivers...
pirate:

I have heard that mentioned a few times on the news stations...I went EEK!!!!

thats because they have no one worth talking about...:confused3

I agree, no more Bush would be a blessing. It's Florida's own fault our votes don't count though at the same time (maybe we should be mad at Florida Democrat people who thought it would be smart to hold it early). I wouldn't mind a revote, but am also not against my vote not counting really.

The early primary was NOT the fault of the Democratic party in Florida, but Florida's Republican legislature. The date was decided by the legislature. Unfortunately, that part of the story gets lost in the telling.

Btw, Florida had a record turnout. Amendment 1 was voted on too.

That's downright embarassing for the other side. :lmao:

Btw, I think McCain stumbled on his way to the Republican coronation. He lost 1 or 2 primaries today.

Very true, and Obama won all 4. So I wonder how this affects the next few Democratic primaries? Does front page news of yesterday's Obama sweep and huge Democratic turnouts (again!) get a few more bandwagon jumpers on board and help push him over the top in states like Maryland, Virginia and Washington DC, as well in presumed Clinton strongholds like Ohio and Texas?

I'm off to see the next President of the United States! He is having a town hall in Alexandria this afternoon and I'm going to head over early and stand in line and make calls to Maine voters on my cell.

I'm like a kid on Christmas morning - I am so excited!!!!

I think he will take DC for sure, probably MD by a smaller margin but VA I think Clinton will squeak out. I think today's results in ME will also provide a boost - I was reading an article yesterday (was it The Nation?) that said Hillary has the edge in Maine.

My question is...will on-the-fence Clinton voters in ME (a presumed Clinton state) wake up this morning, look at news of an Obama sweep in Saturday's voting, and go to their caucus and vote Obama? I guess we'll know in about 12 hours...

I sure hope the practical Maine voters go, caucus, listen and vote Obama!!!

It really doesn't matter who was at fault. The simple fact is that the candidates were not allowed to campaign in the state, so therefore the vote should count for nothing. The two do not start on equal footing, so the lack of ability to campaign is a serious detriment to Obama, and a serious boon to Hillary. If she beats Barack in a fair election, so be it. But the Michigan and Florida elections were in no way fair, and should not be included unless a re-vote is allowed.

Barack is going to win Maryland and DC, and Virginia also looks very good. The Clinton campaign has gone out of there way to lower expectations in the press, as they know they're going to have a tough time winning any state between now and the next Super Tuesday when Texas and Ohio vote. If she can pull off a win in Virginia, it would go a long way towards slowing the momentum Barack has built up. If she can't, she's liable to get a nasty surprise in Ohio.

No, it really does matter how it started. The Republican Florida legislature decided to move the primaries up knowing full well the DNC rules. Put the blame where it belongs.

You are just plain wrong in your assertion that the the candidates were not allowed to campaign in the state. There was nothing preventing anyone from campaigning in Florida other than the 2007 agreement between the candidates. The DNC did NOT stop anyone from campaigning in Florida.

Btw, I take exception to the idea that the Florida primary was just a name-recognition beauty contest. The fact is, the Florida voter has been following the various campaigns/debates just like everyone else in the country. We also know the issues and what's at stake in the next election.

No matter how it all plays out, Democrats will unite behind the Democratic nominee because to do otherwise would be another tragic misstep for the country.

McCain is going nowhere. He's got more baggage than anyone else in this campaign. Voters are looking for change, not the SSDD of the establishment candidate. And that's where the independents come in.

The Independents seem to prefer McCain over Hillary though. That's worrisome, should she get the nomination.

Well again, 'independents' seem real uninformed if that's the case. Basing their voting because they don't like her personally.

I honestly don't think it's her personality. Seems to me, they see her as the same old establishment figure we've had in Washington for years. Why they feel McCain is more of a breath of fresh air than she is, is honestly beyond me. But apparently they do. :confused3

And he's been in DC for how many years?
