And that will accomplish what exactly? He would theoretically end up helping the Democratic nominee if he did that.

What a...I can't even think of the right word. :confused3

You can think of the 'right word"...you're just ascared:scared: of points...or banishment!

I've tried explaining that too. Rush, Sean and Mann Coulter are in this gig for the MONEY. If they thought that they could make as much money talking about something else, they'd be doing it. Who knows if they even believe the stuff they're saying?? Yet, their fans hang on every word like it's the Tablets from the Mountain.

WASHINGTON – Just when liberals thought it was safe to start identifying themselves as such, an acclaimed, veteran psychiatrist is making the case that the ideology motivating them is actually a mental disorder.
"Based on strikingly irrational beliefs and emotions, modern liberals relentlessly undermine the most important principles on which our freedoms were founded," says Dr. Lyle Rossiter, author of the new book, "The Liberal Mind: The Psychological Causes of Political Madness." "Like spoiled, angry children, they rebel against the normal responsibilities of adulthood and demand that a parental government meet their needs from cradle to grave."
While political activists on the other side of the spectrum have made similar observations, Rossiter boasts professional credentials and a life virtually free of activism and links to "the vast right-wing conspiracy."
For more than 35 years he has diagnosed and treated more than 1,500 patients as a board-certified clinical psychiatrist and examined more than 2,700 civil and criminal cases as a board-certified forensic psychiatrist. He received his medical and psychiatric training at the University of Chicago.
Rossiter says the kind of liberalism being displayed by the two major candidates for the Democratic Party presidential nomination can only be understood as a psychological disorder.

"A social scientist who understands human nature will not dismiss the vital roles of free choice, voluntary cooperation and moral integrity – as liberals do," he says. "A political leader who understands human nature will not ignore individual differences in talent, drive, personal appeal and work ethic, and then try to impose economic and social equality on the population – as liberals do. And a legislator who understands human nature will not create an environment of rules which over-regulates and over-taxes the nation's citizens, corrupts their character and reduces them to wards of the state – as liberals do."
Dr. Rossiter says the liberal agenda preys on weakness and feelings of inferiority in the population by:
 • creating and reinforcing perceptions of victimization;
 • satisfying infantile claims to entitlement, indulgence and compensation;
 • augmenting primitive feelings of envy;
 • rejecting the sovereignty of the individual, subordinating him to the will of the government.
"The roots of liberalism – and its associated madness – can be clearly identified by understanding how children develop from infancy to adulthood and how distorted development produces the irrational beliefs of the liberal mind," he says. "When the modern liberal mind whines about imaginary victims, rages against imaginary villains and seeks above all else to run the lives of persons competent to run their own lives, the neurosis of the liberal mind becomes painfully obvious."

Actually, we had a liberal poster that said the same thing about Conservatives...but he's no longer with the organization.

No matter how ones slices/dices or politicizes 'Water Boarding'...it is just EVIL on ever count!!!!
I am by no means a religious fanatic, or even a church goer....BUT I am sure anyone who authorises or willingly participates in the act of Water Boarding WILL BURN IN HELL!

Off my Soapbox!

Torture is the method of choice of the cowards, the mentally sick, the stupid, and the lazy. All of which describe the proponents of torture. If waterboarding was torture when the Japanese were doing it, it is torture today.

Too many of the sickos in this administration, and their water carriers, have a "Jack Bauer" fantasy and image of themselves. The reality is, they're crapping in their pants. That's why they resort to torture. It makes small people feel big. I don't know what dark side these people come from, but they sure as Hell aren't part of my America and I consider them no better than the German citizen who made excuses for the Nazis.

And the American people are really going to feel a sense of closure and justice when some of the masterminds of 9/11 are tried in secret and based on evidence received through torture. Bin Laden's having a belly laugh at how far he made America sink.

I'm going to see if I can get in to see Obama today he is in Youngstown OH. Hopefully I can.

What fans? Seems like around here, every conservative runs for the hills and claims they never, ever listen to Limbaugh whenever you bring up his name, even as they somehow mysteriously parrot the talking points from that day's show.

I heard Coulter on CSPAN talking about the prospects of a McCain presidency. Her thoughts are, his presidency who be a disaster, setting the Conservative movement back and enabling Democratic leadership for decades, whereas a Clinton or Obama presidency would be equally bad, but last only 4 years, and the conservatives could take back over the reigns again immediately.

Frankly, I think they're all full of crap and all only interested in self preservation. Rush and Coulter are the type of people who would not only sell their mother to make a buck, but they'd deliver her as well.

Question. How many of you folks are looking at Senate and Congressional elections in your states that would help the democratic president get their goals accomplished if won by a democrat? I think we need to start focusing on those elections too as it becomes clear that neither candidate will be effective in office without a better majority in Congress. Know what I mean? It matters NOT what the candidate 'promises' unless we can also hand them the support they need to make the changes necessary. I say let the candidates fight it out. Most of us have made our decisions where that is concerned. We need to put our energies into local issues at this point and get the ball rolling there. :)

Hello?

You need a terrorist's head popped off?

I'm your guy.

That is an excellent reminder.

LD, no matter how much we may disagree on anything else, I couldn't have said the above any better. :worship:

Oh, I dunno...seeing as how their party has two finalists for the nomination, one of whom still believes in the easter bunny (more specifically, that the world is only 10,000 years old and that man and dinosaur once lived together), I'd think they'd be experts by now in mental illnesses. :teeth: Speaking of which...by the standards in that article, Jesus Christ would have been certifiable. :lmao:

Just saw this on another site, and I think I'm just going to copy it into a document to save on my PC for the next 473 times I hear the "all talk, no action" comments. :teeth:

Joy on The Swamp said:
Oh yes, the Obama "has no position", "no platform", & "no experience" argument again. I am not surprised that Hillary is pulling out the stops in light of recent events, and let's be honest- she's just fighting for the face time that she needs right now, and who can blame her? However, the misinformation circulating about Obama's "inexperience" is appalling. I have diligently searched for policy details and financial specifics, and ironically find it much more difficult to find them on her website or on news sites re: her platform than can be found on Obama's platform in about 5 minutes if you know how to use a search engine. If you want, you can find an actual CV on Obama on Chicago U. Law’s website.

Apparently, if you are a skilled & eloquent orator, if you "inspire" people and are articulate- that's spells danger for you politically. Indeed, the inspiring speech is evidence as to why you MUST lack substance on issues and policy, because in America we have come to not just expect, but actually *desire* that our politicians bore us, or scare us, or both.

For what it's worth, there are many things I believe are to be admired about Hillary, but I also firmly believe that Obama is the better candidate to face down McCain, to inspire the country to roll up its sleeves, and to dispense with the bipartisan blood bath that has gone on so long. If you truly are interested in some facts about Obama's platform, here they are:

Here is a 59-page policy handbook:

http://www.barackobama.com/pdf/ObamaBlueprintForChange.pdf

Here is a financial analysis of his most recent mention in his Wisconsin speech about an immediate economic stimulus plan:
http://www.bloggingstocks.com/2008/02/13/obama-unveils-210-billion-economic-stimulus-plan/

While it's true Barack is quite liberal, there is absolutely no denying that currently, he has more moderate and conservative support than Senator Clinton does However, it is interesting to note that the things for which Obama is often criticized, e.g., "being too liberal" and having "too little experience," the government's OWN statistics refute:

http://www.govtrack.us/congress/findyourreps.xpd

Type in each candidate's last names and look at their voting records, the names and substance of bills drafted and supported, and basic biographical info .

Hillary is considered a "radical liberal" on the senate information website, while Obama is considered to be a bit right of that as a "rank and file" democrat. This designation is based upon their votes.

Although Obama has 11 years of legislative experience (5 more years than Hillary) his critics cry "no fair" only the national legislation counts. O.K.--even within these parameters, Obama has passed into law in 3 years (with bills that he authored or co-authored) 5 pieces of substantive legislation, while Hillary has passed into law in 6 years time, 6 substantive bills that she has authored or coauthored. He essentially has accomplished the same job in half the time. Although Hillary has about 26 bills that have become law, 20 of them are things like "name post office after Thurgood Marshall" and "Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship." Here are the substantive legislation each has passed:

Hillary:
1. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
2. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
3. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
4. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
5. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.

Here is Obama's:
1. the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
2. The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
3.The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
4.The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
5.The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee)

There is a wealth of information on both candidates to be found if you really are interested in the issues and not in recycling the same flaccid arguments about the candidate whom you do not support. Look, there are two viable democrats in the running right now-- and I for one will be voting for either of them come Nov. Having said that, I firmly believe Senator Obama to be the better candidate for the man he is, the intellect he is, and the accident that is called "timing." Vote the way you want, support whomever you admire for whatever reason you wish: emotions, nostalgia, playing it safe, feeling inspired, etc., but stop being dishonest about the other party's platform and substance. If you want details, they can be found.

I've long believed that most right wingers would rather wear Jesus like a badge than live his teachings.
