The Lesser Known Eighth Dwarf, Dumpy, Comes to Disney Aug '11 **NEW 2/20 TR link!!!

Hi Jen! You had such a packed morning at MK! I love how you were just ahead of the crowds :cool1: That is the kind of PD to have with you for sure!

Rosie! Welcome home! I need to find your TR! Have a great time in Albany. Try not to work too hard!:rotfl2:

Evening Jen just checking in before I go to Albany tomorrow for work !!!! Oh my 3 days of sitting around just eating and relaxing !!! If it weren't for supervising 8 consumers and meds I would be in 7th Heaven !!:cloud9::rotfl2:

Thanks for checking in Rosie :goodvibes 7th Heaven eh? Have you seen that show? Are you sure you would want to be there? :rotfl:

It was a very good day at MK!

Don't worry about Rosie. She'll only lift a finger when it's absolutely necessary :rotfl2:

Hey Jen! :goodvibes

I am so excited to read about your grand adventures with Stitch! The friend, not the character. ;) Going back to read through all the updates. I hope it was a good trip! And I hope you've been doing well. Anymore trips to Italy lately?? I seriously don't know how you came home, I'd have just dug in my heels and said I'm living here now!

So excited that you don't have to keep that darn secret anymore....that's very exciting news!

I can't believe the lack of crowds in your pictures...that sure makes touring a lot easier doesn't it:woohoo:

What's the revealed secret? Did I miss something?

Hey Jen! :goodvibes

And I hope you've been doing well. Anymore trips to Italy lately?? I seriously don't know how you came home, I'd have just dug in my heels and said I'm living here now!

:welcome: Molly! I'm so glad to see you again. I was beginning to wonder what had happened to ya. No more trips to Italy this year. Although I wish! Probably going next year around the same time with a few days stop in London. Right now I have another Disney trip on the horizon to plan though.

What's the revealed secret? Did I miss something?

Remember when I posted about Bubba being accepted to work at Disney again? Then I had to take it down because someone I knew who is close to Bubba was on the DIS but they didn't know about Bubba being accepted yet. Well now she has told everyone so we can all talk about it without worry :goodvibes

On our way back to CSR, we stopped at the Poly to check out their store. Stitch wanted to buy another pair of shorts since she hadn't packed enough. We had loads of time before our dinner at CG so we perused the store for quite a while. I ended up buying a new pair of classic Mickey earring. The earrings I were wearing had the gems fall out so it was time to replace them. I also found a pin I couldn't resist.

Stitch almost wanted to get a water bottle holder since her park bag was too small to hold a bottle. We tried out the bottle holder that Disney sells but look what it did to the bottle!

So…. yeah. I wouldn't recommend buying it since it'll just crush your bottle!

Once we finally decided on everything, we headed back to CSR and went for a swim and relaxed before our late dinner. Then we went back to the room and got all cleaned up and fancy looking.

Mother Nature gave us a gorgeous sunset on our way to CR.

I'm sad I wasn't able to get a better picture but that's okay since my sunset picture quota was met on my trip to Italy ;)

We took the bus from our resort to MK then hopped on the monorail to CR. I know we could've walked but the more weight Stitch took off her fragile ankle, the better.

We got there way ahead of time so we spent a little while in the store. There were these really funny Mr. Potato Heads

I also tried to find the five-legged goat in the mural

My eyesight must be getting bad because I could've sworn this one had the five legs.

For whatever reason, I had forgotten what floor we had to go to to check in for CG. Getting in an elevator was a task and a half as well. The place seemed really busy. We got on an elevator and we ended up going down (or was it up?) well…. we ended up going the direction we didn't want to go so we went for a ride on the elevator. Eventually we got off the right floor once we looked at the panel on the elevator.

We didn't wait long to get a table. I was really hoping we'd get a seat beside the window. I asked the CM who seated us but she said they were really busy and wouldn't be able to accommodate us right beside a window. She gave us the next best thing though. The table was in the middle of the dining room. Granted it wasn't right beside the window, but it still gave us a pretty good view……. if I cranked my neck all the way around and strained over people's heads. I had Stitch sit on the side of the table facing the window so she could see the nice view.

The glare was pretty bad so we both decided it would be best to watch Wishes outside on the viewing deck. In the meantime, we looked over the menu when our server showed up. This guy was a piece of work. I realize we were eating in a Signature Dining restaurant but as soon as he knew we weren't ordering a big expensive bottle of wine or an appetizer, he basically turned his back on us and became really bitter. I tried to ignore it but he was really hard to get along with. It's too bad because the last time I ate there, we had a great server. Despite the bad service, we had great food!

Okay, it's bread but it did satisfy our starvation until our main course came.

I ordered the scallops because Bubba had them last time and when I tried them, I loved them! Once again, they didn't disappoint. Stitch loved hers too but sadly I can't remember what she got. I didn't even get a picture but I'm sure she did. Now if only I could get her on the DIS to share her pictures too.

Wishes was just about to start before we were able to finish our food but we really wanted to see the fireworks. So we took risking coming back to cold food versus watching the fireworks through the glare of the windows.

It was incredible out there, at the very top of CR. Once I realized the extreme height we were at, I started to freak out a bit. Heights have never been my thing but thankfully there were high railings. There was a big skylight right behind where we were standing so you could look straight down into the Contemporary. Really freaky! There were lots of people out there so it was hard finding a spot without a big fat head in our way.
We were able to squeeze into a spot and watched the fireworks.

The big finale

I loved watching the fireworks from what felt like on top of the World. Although, next trip, I'm really hoping to watch Wishes on Main Street. It feels like it's been a while since I've done that. And to share it with DBF will be even more special (here's hoping anyway….since he IS a Disney hater….)

We went back to our seats expecting lukewarm to borderline cold food but to our surprise, our server had a glimpse of kindness and put covers over our food. We finished our food and were then offered dessert. I took the menu to give the server a glimmer of hope. Actually all I wanted was tea but a glass of Cognac was tempting.

Since I'd have to take out a bank loan just to get a glass, I decided on getting that cup of tea

Much more affordable.

That night it was late EMH at MK but we had an early morning and Stitch didn't want to push her ankle. We rode the monorail around the loop and hopped on a bus back to CSR. The buses weren't too crazy which was nice. I found CSR to always have the least crowded buses the whole time we were there. Plus we had great bus mojo that night since there was one waiting for us as soon as we got there.

Great update! I'm going to start collecting pins for all the resorts I stay at too! My sister's all caught up, since she's only stayed at two, but I have none! I need to get 4 to be on track at this point. So not bad.

Sorry about the bad service at CG. Granted we did order an appetizer, and I think my Dad ordered wine, but our service was great! At least you liked the food though. Looks delicious!

I love Wishes from that high up! It's awesome! How nice of your server to keep your food warm. :)

Yay for bus pixie dust! Can't wait for more! :yay:

If I have missed anyone, please let me know! I tend to make mistakes in when it comes to adding things up.... or with anything that has to do with math in general

I hate rude servers! Just because you weren't planning on spending a fortune is no excuse for bad service! At least he covered your meals during the fireworks.

I love those Star Wars Mr. Potatoheads! :chewy:

Hey, nice pictures of the fireworks. I especially like the one of the finale. :thumbsup2

I've read articles that the one thing servers hate when somebody orders is....hot tea. It takes a lot of prep and doesn't add much to the tip. Just sayin'. ;) But you're right, you should still be treated well at a signature restaurant.

Can't believe your server! There is no excuse for that...nope, none whatsoever! Happy he covered your meals to keep them warm though! CG was our best dinner when jasmine and I were there last September, our server couldn't do enough, they sure can make or break your meal can't they! Oh btw, you both looked gorgeous for your fancy dinner:cutie:

Ugh, rude servers! I can't stand them. There really is no excuse for that. You're eating there just like everyone else. You don't have to get a bottle of wine or whatever. It is definitely not a requirement. However, I am glad that the food was good because that would have just been the icing on the cake for me.

I sometimes wonder if servers ever figure out when they get a crummy tip WHY they get that crummy tip? Do your job, be polite, and I'll tip you accordingly. There is no reason for RUDENESS.

Marv's in the lead? Well, I know got in late so I'll use that as my excuse. And Marv does NOT sweet talk...he SUCKS UP! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

Remember when I posted about Bubba being accepted to work at Disney again? Then I had to take it down because someone I knew who is close to Bubba was on the DIS but they didn't know about Bubba being accepted yet. Well now she has told everyone so we can all talk about it without worry :goodvibes

Glad we can talk about it openly! When does Bubba go back?

Oh, I love that pin! I think Chip & Dale make any pin look good haha I think it's because the pins seemed to add more characters, with them being perfect as two is just great. I also love seeing those Living with the Land pins out and about, such an underrated ride. (: And I got to make a note of the water bottle holder if the question comes up ;)

The sunset was very pretty, though it didn't exactly meet your quota, it still met mine (: And it looked even more beautiful behind the Magic Kingdom in the second picture :goodvibes MK just makes everything look and seem better :teeth:

Those Mr. Potato Heads are great! Only in Disney would you ever find something like that. And sorry you didn't really find the five-legged goat. The angle may be the reason why we can't see Mr. Extra-Leg, we may never know :/ Sorry to hear you didn't go in the right direction on the elevator (isn't that just how it always works?), but still you made it on time :thumbsup2 And sad to hear you didn't get a window seat. At least if you took some effort to look you could still see it :D And the food seemed to cover up the fact you didn't get your preferred seating.

Ooooo... California Grill... even though it is a signature and requires some extra work when it comes to getting into the place, I would love to go there. The food looks and sounds delicious! I can't believe your server was rude to you because you weren't going for a "full" signature dining experience... pft snobs..., at least he did cover your food for you while watching Wishes (: The meal looked great otherwise. I will have to test out those scallops you got :thumbsup2

I love your Wishes! pictures, such a fantastic show and I like seeing this perspective from atop the Contemporary. I've only seen it from a... obstructed view, so to speak, but it was still amazing. Do they play the music up there? I'm curious about that in case I do watch from the Contemporary sometime. =D And you should totally watch Wishes! from Main Street sometime, it makes it all look so much bigger and you can see everything better, adds an extra element to the experience. (:

Oooo... I see I'm still doing fairly good in the standings... though middle crowd isn't good enough for me lol jk I need to really work on getting these questions right lol

Can't wait to read more! :mickeyjum

Love the SW potatoes!:thumbsup2 They come up with so many fun marketing ideas!

Too bad about your server - a Signature meal is supposed to be something special, whatever you decide to order. I'm glad he didn't totally ruin your evening. Great pics of the fireworks!

I wonder how servers will react to my rather different way of ordering? I love appetizers and desserts. Maybe an alcoholic beverage or two. But I can usually skip the main course. Will I get the stink-eye?

Chris

Too bad you couldn't get a window seat at CG. It was nice of you to let Stitch take the seat with the view.

I hate having a server that is rude, but at least he covered your dinner while you watched Wishes. That was nice.:thumbsup2

You managed to get some great firework pictures. The view must be amazing from that high, although I think it would be a bit scary being so high.

Loved the Firework Pix !!! We had an awful server at Mama Melrose's too !!The food was cold also so can scratch that restaurant off our to do list again !!!

I hate rude servers! Just because you weren't planning on spending a fortune is no excuse for bad service! At least he covered your meals during the fireworks.

Yeah it really took away from the experience. At least we had a good view of Wishes.

I love those Star Wars Mr. Potatoheads! :chewy:

The names crack me up :rotfl2: I really wanted one but I knew it would just collect dust....

Hey, nice pictures of the fireworks. I especially like the one of the finale. :thumbsup2

My camera did a wonderful job. I really really like this camera. It's hard trying to take pictures and enjoy the show at the same time. I think when I took that photo I wasn't even looking at what I was taking a picture of

I've read articles that the one thing servers hate when somebody orders is....hot tea. It takes a lot of prep and doesn't add much to the tip. Just sayin'. ;) But you're right, you should still be treated well at a signature restaurant.

It's not my fault they serve it in a pressed pot to make it more difficult :rotfl: It was a LOT of tea. I had nearly 4 cups and still didn't finish it. I really had to pee after that :rotfl2:

Can't believe your server! There is no excuse for that...nope, none whatsoever! Happy he covered your meals to keep them warm though! CG was our best dinner when jasmine and I were there last September, our server couldn't do enough, they sure can make or break your meal can't they! Oh btw, you both looked gorgeous for your fancy dinner:cutie:

Most definitely. If you don't get a good impression right away then your meal is ruined. I was even as friendly as could be with him and he still hardly cracked a smile. Thanks for the compliments :goodvibes

It is definitely not a requirement. However, I am glad that the food was good because that would have just been the icing on the cake for me.

If the food was crap then I definitely would put it on my axed list. Thankfully the food was good and the atmosphere is always great. It's 50/50 for service. Sometimes we win, sometimes we don't.

I sometimes wonder if servers ever figure out when they get a crummy tip WHY they get that crummy tip? Do your job, be polite, and I'll tip you accordingly. There is no reason for RUDENESS.

I'm pretty sure we tipped way less than 18%. He definitely did not earn it that night.

Marv's in the lead? Well, I know got in late so I'll use that as my excuse. And Marv does NOT sweet talk...he SUCKS UP! :lmao::lmao::lmao:

:rotfl2: I'll pretend I didn't hear that :rolleyes1
