The wait staff looked weird as they were in old clothes. The Ladies had an apron round their waists, with a pink dress with a pattern on it!!

One of the ladies had a stitch hand on and she was our server!! Mum, Ellie and I were waiting impatiently and Dad kept wandering around. Mum looked over in the corner and guess who was there????

JANET and her family!!!

We all ordered the: Angus Chuck Burger - Flame-broiled beef patty topped with cheddar, sauteed onions, mushrooms and crispy bacon. French fries.

OMG they were gigantic!!
They must have been twice the size of an English burger

Great update, Jess (and Jo ;) )

I've never been to Sci-Fi, but given the size of those burgers TE posted, I don't know that I'd ever want to eat there. They appear to be so big people who sit in third row seats become comatose. That's too risky for me.

:rotfl2:

A chapter all about eating! I can get behind that!!! :rotfl:
:rotfl2:

The oreo milkshake sounds lovely. Did it have cookie bits in it?
Yes but they weren't big or hard, just made it a very yummy taste!

It's usually DH in our family who tries to delay it. DD and I together tend to get carried away. For instance we bought the rainbow sequin mickey shoes for her one day on our own. Another time we did the pick a pearl in Japan (that might have been the night I first saw you) and made a necklace. She still hasn't worn either of them.
I wanted to delay it because of driving in the hurricane!!!! Oh no DD hasn't worn her purchases? :sad2:

gee, wonder why so many Americans (like me!) have weight issues...
Hey you don't have a weight problem at all

Was she nervous about driving in the rain?
Maybe a little :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

We are at Sci-fi and we all are starving!!
I should think so - you've been there TWO MONTHS! :rotfl:

We were shown to a car right at the front, which was great to start with but I ended up with a stiff neck so would definitely ask for a car near the back next time!
I never thought of that - we always wind up toward the back.
We all ordered the: Angus Chuck Burger
Good call. Sci Fi is NOT the place to get creative with food! :scared:

Ellie and I were excited to see Leo. :yay::yay::yay:!! I couldn’t wait to see you too V but your son is so sweet!!
It's okay; us moms always get second billing. ;)
He told us that his friends at school called him Skull!!! V said that wasn’t true but Leo said it was true!!?? :lmao: Then Leo told us he had a sharks tooth and Ellie and I were in fits of laughter :rotfl2:
:lmao: Here's what I think: I think he WANTS kids at school to call him "Skull"!

It was SO good to see you guys again - really, the prefect start for our trip! :grouphug:

Glad you guys had a decent burger...we may have to try Sci-Fi next time. Some of the burgers we've had at WDW can be downright scary bad :scared1:

JANET and her family!!!

Mum knew she had an ADR and was looking all over for her!!! (Trust mum to be looking!!!)

She knows better than to wait for me to find her:lmao:

I knew Janet had a similar ADR to us so was on the look out for her, the place was packed though with hot and wet people all sheltering from the rain. We ended up waiting almost by the toilets! I saw Janet come in and after she’d booked in I went and said Hi. We chatted some and I was very impressed with her nephew Andrew he was a very polite boy who was very good at making conversation :)

He knew he'd better have been polite or I would have killed him ::yes::
But thanks Jo;)

We all ordered the: Angus Chuck Burger -

THis is what I got too. TOO MUCH FOOD:faint:

We said our byes to Janet and left the restaurant and then headed out of the whole park.

I remember saying goodbye, buyt I didn't realize you guys left:confused3

Tomorrow is shopping though mum tried to delay it!!!

DId you forget what side of the road to drive on Jo;)

Hmm.....so you want us to add some???

Thursday 21st August

We are off shopping :yay:

As I have already told you mum wanted to change the day as it was not very nice weather!! We got a little shuttle from POR to Alamo car company. First stop was Edwin Watts (golf shop), Prime outlet, and a super target. That was it we were going to go lots more places but mum was getting very stressed!! But we did get to every place very safe and sound which was good!!

We didn’t have any pictures again and I have a few logos of some of the shops we went to:

After we bought nearly the whole outlet :rotfl2: we decided to move on and go to the super target!! Everyone said they live on Target we didn’t think it was that good it seemed like a massive Tescos (our local groceries store.)

We thought it was ok. We bought: some cough sweets for myself, lots and lots of crisps, some pop tarts as Ellie loves them she got some random flavour frosted chocolate fudge and the cookie dough one too as we don’t have those here. I got a chocolate brown skirt and a pink hoddie t-shirt. We also got many essential things like breakfast bars for the mornings before the parks!!

We went back to Alamo at round about 4:30pm and we got a little shuttle to take us back to POR and were back in the room quite quick with our bags and guess what???

IT IS STILL RAINING!!! ARGGGGGGGGGGG

We are in our room and some of us got changed into our new outfits! We were off to Down Town Disney to the Virgin mega store!! :yay: Ellie and I bought ourselves something Dad didn’t buy anything and neither did Mum. Ellie bought Guitar hero for the Nintendo DS; she plays on it all the time!! She also bought the Mamma Mia CD and I bought the Camp Rock CD

We all started to get very hungry and Dad wanted to go to Earl of Sandwich but I didn’t want sandwiches as we had them for lunch. So we went back to POR on the bus as it was still raining. We ordered 2x pizzas and 1x pasta. For dessert we got 3x ice creams. We were back in the room by 8:40pm.

Thought it was easier for this day for me to do my thoughts in one big bit!

So as Jess said I tried to cancel the rental car, the hurricane was still with us and I was not keen at all for my first time driving on the “wrong” side of the road to be in the wind and rain  I phoned Alamo up but because I’d booked through a UK company (cheaper deal :rotfl2:) I would have to phone the UK to cancel, well me being tight didn’t want too so I sucked it up and decided to brave it!!!!

It was very easy to arrange the free transfer to the Disney Car Centre and as we drove there I was busy trying to memorise the route for the way home :lmao: We surprisingly were the only ones in the queue and we were quickly given our keys. We walked to the car, OK ran a bit because it was raining, and me keys in hand went to get in the right hand door, uhhhh the steering wheel is on the left silly woman :rotfl: Anyway I soon found the correct door and after a quick look at how things worked we were on our way, pretty slowly I must say. Oh I must point out this was my first time driving an automatic car too!

The ride went smoothly my navigator (DH) was excellent and after several times of me trying to find the clutch and gear stick as I was braking and a few squeals of will you get into the middle of the road not on the side of the road we arrived at our first shop all in one piece :goodvibes

First stop was Edwin Watts a golf shop, I can remember this shop from when I was a child, I think my first set of golf clubs may have even been bought there. Anyway it was massive but what a disappointment, no bargains at all, most things were full price! We walked out with nothing!

Next was the Prime outlets where we errr spent loads, new trainers for both girls, Jess found the Converse all stars she wanted and they were a fraction of the price. I found several golf skorts, which again were a bargain, oh I also got a nice new fossil watch as my other one had broken a few weeks beforehand. Other things were bought and we also had lunch in the food court, some kind of cheese steak sandwich!

We then drove to Super Target which I didn’t think was that fantastic, we still bought a few bits though before heading back along the I4. We arrived back safely and the car was still in one piece too, phew :rotfl:

I can’t say I enjoyed the driving, it was pretty stressful in that weather, but would give it another go :goodvibes

As Jess said we then went to DTD in the evening for more shopping, strangely we never found CD’s or DS games for sale so off to Virgin we went and spent another $150 :faint:

There then was a bit of a battle as David wanted to go to his favourite EoS but Jess wasn’t having it, so we ended up back at POR. He never let her forget that BTW :lmao:
