{{HUGS}} Beth. You know that there is only so much we can do as parents. We love them and teach them as they are growing up, we guide them, we teach them right from wrong. We teach them what responsiblity means. What they do with that when they are older is totally out of our hands. You cannot possibly blame yourself. You have not failed them. They have failed you. DD knew it was irresponsible to spend the insurance money instead of getting the car fixed, but she did it anyway. DS also knew he shouldn't be driving, but he did. And did DD know DS shouldn't be driving, but asked him to anyway? You can only do so much, and you did that. You went and picked him up, went and got the car. If he chooses to drive the car while DD is gone, knowing full well he shouldn't, what are you supposed to do? There isn't anything you can do.

Oh sis, I am so sorry to hear this. And I am so sorry you are being caused this kind of stress. Let me know if there is anything I can do. Just give a holler if you want. {{HUGS}} and love.

Hugs to Beth even though we've just met. You're a mom for life but you have to keep your perspective, you've DONE your job, kids grow up and make decisions of their own, good and bad. You love them but sometimes you have to back off and let them deal with their own messes...no reflection on you. (Both my boys are ADHD)

If you enjoy large black billowing clouds of smoke in your kitchen, spill one bag of sugar, evenly over stove top, making sure to deposit at least one cup in element. Clean up stove, forgetting to clean out element, wait 2 days. Add one daughter, heating soup, voila.....spectacular smoke clouds! And the smell....yummmm...

Currently making split pea soup from leftover ham.....this could be scary...

Now you're talkin' Marion! I've been 25'ish for years now and plan to stay that way until.... well... until I decide that 26ish would be more appropriate.

Jodie, the storms we've had here have been SO gakky. The roof damage everywhere is amazing... I also saw several chain link type fences torn down, huge trees uprooted and lying on the ground, and more than 24 hrs. later power is still out in several areas, one school lost a huge section of roof, traffic lights are still out everywhere. Quite a mess. Our area isn't used to dealing with heavy storm damage, so it really kind've throws everyone for a loop when it happens.

All I have to say is that I have you beat with spending at Wal-Mart!

It wouldn't have been so bad if it had been for something fun... but nooo.... it was just odds and ends and small stocking stuffer type gifts.

Today was dads birthday. I thought I was doing really well with the holidays until about mid week last week. Ive been a mess. We got the tree on Sunday and I just lost it. I cried like I havent cried in years. I know its only been four years but I thought by now I would have been over it much more than I am. Today I have been kinda down and really touchy.
