Jennifer, we have rented a cabin in Gatlinburg for the Thanksgiving holiday. Steve is meeting us there. It will be my family and my SIL and her DH. (she was married to my deceased brother and has since remarried) All my brothers and I used to meet there for Thanksgiving week every other year. It was something we started when my parents died. Wanted a new tradition. We cancelled last year because my oldest brother had just died. We started out with 5 of us and now there are 3 of us. My brother who lives in Texas can't make this year because of finances. He started a new job in Houston and his wife hasn't been able to get a transfer, so she is still in Holiday, Florida. They are traveling every other weekend to see each other. My brother who lives here is having to spend Thanksgiving with in laws. You see they were used to the every other year thing and according to them this is their year. (remember we cancelled last year because of a death) Don't want this to sound morbid. I have wonderful memories of Thanksgiving with my brothers and going back is special.

So what are you doing for Thanksgiving?

Bonnie & Betty--I love the button you sent to Mskanga for DisCon! That is wonderful!! And Betty--that is so great that Allison is going to the dance! WE WANT PICTURES!!!!! And I guess I will have to pass the Puffs again--I got all teary at my daughter's first formal--bet you will too!!!

Nancy, if you are around--I got Marilyn's button in the mail today to wear for DisCon. That is so neat!! I will be perfectly balanced now (physically, that is--never mentally!!) I have a button the same size with a pic of Marilyn for one side and now this great line green one with her name for the other! And the neat thing is, she is wearing a lime green shirt in her pic so the buttons are color-coordinated!!! LOL!!!!!

Jennifer--how can you knit so much with a little one around? And still get in time on the DIS? I started crocheting a scarf the other night, got about 5 inches done and haven't gotten back to it. Posting too much, I guess!

Well, friends, I'm off to bed for tonight. Hopefully, will be able to check in more often tomorrow from work. Don't know when I will be getting my new 'puter, but I can still get online with the sick one I have!!! Who cares as long as I have the DIS??!!!!! G'night, all. That's right, I had forgotten about the cabin...sorry. Sounds wonderful.

We always spend TG with the ILs. GOing to be very weird this year. BIL has is girlfriend (his divorce is final next week and we haven't even told Paige they are separated yet ) up from Mexico (she speaks NO english) and SIL has a new boyfriend we haven't met yet. Won't be dull that's for sure

Christmas should be interesting too...did I tell you guys my mom is buddist? (she's my step mom.....but really...she's my mom so that's what I'll call her here) She sent me an email today and asked if we would be open to makin some changes in how we celebrate with her this year. I'm excited. I'd like my girls exposed to something more than the commercialism of the season.

NOPE No two yaya's get the same hand wear Actually I made the ones I sent you Kim for Carol in red to send her with the pattern awhile back and fell in love with them. I wasn't sure if a full glove would be appropriate where you are. I guess it would. Want me to sent you the fingers? hehehe.
My MIL and SIL both want a pair. Some day I will get to make some for myself.........

After the holiday I am going to hit you up Nancy for your favorite treat recipies. THe girls and I always make "the 13 treat of Christmas" and at least 10 are always new recipies to us. (the other 3 are repeat requests).

Let's see I'm making turkey , dressing, mashed potatoes, gravy, green beans, green salad, sweet potato casserole, 2 kinds of rolls, pumpkin crunch cake and a chocolate trifle. Oh, and spinach -artichoke dip to start off.
